Birthday Card with Flowers

Good day! The month of May is my birthday month, so I always make myself a card. This Birthday Card with Flowers is this years creation. It features my favorite color, purple, and some lovely embossed flowers. The background stencil and floral cut and emboss folder are both by Pink & Main. Distress inks were used to color the flowers and background. The Happy Birthday sentiment and die cut are from Unity Stamps. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Support Card

Good day! This afternoon I saw the challenge at Simon Says is Fun With Stencils, so I decided to play along. I used the Tumbling Leaves stencil with distress inks in Bundled Sage and Speckled Egg by Ranger/Tim Holtz. The stencil was used directly onto a piece of white brick paper by The Paper Studio and it was matted to a piece of retired Baha Breeze cardstock by Stampin' Up!. The One Day at a Time sentiment is from Verve Stamps and two little butterflies were added from my stash. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Hoots For You Card

Good day! It's been awhile since I've played along at Inky Paws. Their current challenge is a color challenge, so I though I would give it a go and this Hoots For You Card is what I created. The stamp set used is called Love Owl-ways by Newton's Nook and I also used their cloud stencil. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with the coordinating dies. Some glossy accents were added to the eyes of the owl. The paper layers were cut with the Newton's Nook Frames & Flags die set and everything was adhered flat. Well, that's about it. I appreciate you stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day.

Snowman Card with Pink

Good day! After the hot summer here in Oklahoma I'm definitely ready for snow. We don't get a lot of snow, usually enough to cover the ground and make driving difficult, but I love watching it fall.

For this Snowman Card with Pink I used the Feeling Frosty stamp and die sets by Sunny Studio Stamps. The background trees were stenciled with the Sunny Studio Forest Trees stencil using tumbled glass distress ink. While making this card I made several little "oops", so I used the saying by Bob Ross "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents." To cover my happy little accident I added snowflakes to the four corners of the card. I had made a small rip in one corner of the pink frame and it was driving me crazy, but now you would never know it's there. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!⛄

Too Legit Card

Good day! It's been awhile since I made my hubby a card. So, I used the fun Hip Hop Bunny stamp set by Taylored Expressions and made him this Too Legit Card. When I met my hubby back in college he had a yellow boom box and we still have it on a shelf in our garage. 😃 It only made sense that I colored the boom box yellow. The background was created using Salty Ocean distress ink and a triangle toss stencil by Taylored Expressions. A polka dot banner anchors the images and a silver die cut star was added next to the sentiment. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Glowing Spooky Card

Good day! I think Halloween cards that glow in the dark are extra fun. So, I cut out the Spooky word die with glow in the dark paper. This Glowing Spooky Card is a mini slimline design which is 3.5" x 6". The owl and the ghost images are from the retired stamp set by Newton's Nook called Boo Hoo. Using the flying bats stencil by Newton's Nook with black distress ink and gray cardstock for the background. A tombstone from the Halloween Party stamp set by Hello Bluebird was added along with some black die cut grass and that's it. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. This was a pretty easy card, so I plan on making multiples for family and friends. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!🦇

Spooky Card

Okay... it's not that spooky, but it's about as spooky as my cards get. Hope you're having a great day! The Inky Paws challenge is a Halloween theme and the Monday challenge at Simon Says Stamp is to use stencils and my stencils get neglected. So, I decided to use the bats stencil by Newton's Nook to make this mini slimline Spooky Card (3.5" x 6"). The ghost image is also by Newton's Nook from the Boo Hoo stamp set (retired) and the headstone is from a Hello Bluebird set called Halloween Party. Some black die cut grass and a spooky word die from Simon Says Stamp and that's it. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!🦇

Butterfly Card - TMS #595

Good day! This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have another new sketch designed by Melissa Craig. I played around with the circular element on this card and ended up using a stencil. My first thought was a doily, but the ones I have were too big. So, I decided to go simple. Most of my cards have many layers, stamping or coloring, but I did none of that on this card. After stenciling I added a piece of patterned paper then layered on the frame, sentiment and butterfly all from the Bloom Street collection by Pink Paislee. That's it! I hope you will join us this week and play along with this sketch at Tuesday Morning sketches. For all the challenge details and design team information click HERE. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Purple Flower Card

Hello and happy Friday! While recently cleaning my crafty space I got distracted with a stencil. It was found between some patterned papers which wasn't where it belonged. Earlier I had found this purple flower and it was already colored just waiting to be used. So, I made a quick background and created this Purple Flower Card. The flower is from a retired stamp set by Stampin' Up! called You've Got This and it was colored with Copic markers. A thinking of you sentiment and a blue butterfly from my stash were added and this card came together quickly. This Purple Flower Card is entered in the Simon Says Wednesday challenge to Make Your Own Background and Anything Goes challenge at Word Art Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Green Monochrome Sympathy Card

Hello! Last week the husband of one of my cousins unexpectedly passed away. They are young and had only been married a couple of years. I know her heart is broken and her world has turned upside down. This Green Monochrome Sympathy Card is one I made to send to my Aunt and Uncle who live next door to my cousin. They are all very close and it's been such a shock to all of them. There isn't a lot I can do, but I can make them cards to show my support.

This card was made using various colors of green inks. I started with a piece of white cardstock and used a brayer to add a light green ink all over then added a slightly darker green to the edges. Then the Blossom layering stencil by Tim Holtz was used with Peeled Paint distress ink. The flowers are from the Bloom Brighter stamp set by Verve Stamps and were stamped with Mossy Meadow ink by Stampin' Up!. Three leaf sprigs were stamped from the Lawn Fawn Fab Flowers stamp set using Garden Green ink by Stampin' Up! and the stenciled panel was adhered to a piece of Garden Green cardstock. A butterfly was added for more detail next to the sympathy sentiment from the Forever in Our Hearts stamp set by Verve Stamps. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

10th Birthday at TMS

Happy 10th Birthday to Tuesday Morning Sketches! That's a long time and a lot of sketches over the years. I'm proud to be part of the design team and we have some wonderful inspiration for you this week. We would love for you to celebrate this milestone with us. All you have to do is make a card with the sketch and link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. I hope to see your card in the gallery!

To make my card I used distress oxide inks in tumbled glass and mermaid lagoon with mixed media paper. I spritzed it with water several times and used a heat gun to help it dry. Once dry a Folk Art stencil by Plaid called Handmade Charlotte was inked with peacock feathers distress ink. For the smaller circle a portion of the stencil was inked with abandoned coral distress ink and die cut with a stitched die. A sentiment by Close to My Heart was stamped with Memento black ink. Then some twine and candy dots added and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Sending Love Card I made using the Sending Hugs stamp set and Tumbling Hearts stencil by Newton's Nook. Newton was colored with Copic markers in neutral gray tones and a Sweet Sugarplum Stampin' Pad was used for the hearts. A 1" strip of patterned paper was added for contrast and the sentiment was stamped and heat embossed onto a piece of Berry Burst cardstock. Three glimmer stickers were added for sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by!

In My Thoughts Card - TMS #483

Happy happy Tuesday! It's the start of another challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch has a lot of fun elements to play around with. My card was started by choosing the sentiment and unfortunately I needed a sympathy card. A friend from high school passed away and I wanted to make her mother a card. Once the sentiment was selected I decided to use the Flourish Thinlits along with a brick stencil by Stampin' Up! A couple small butterflies from my stash were added and the edges were punched with a decorative punch from Creative Memories. The final detail was adding the bow and that's it. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Manatee Card

Hello! Last month Newton's Nook released a super cute Manatee stamp set called Manatee-rific and I just had to add it to my stash. Today I made this Manatee Card using the new stamp set along with the waves stencil. Salty Ocean distress ink was used for the waves and the Mantee and accents were colored with Copic markers. The coordinating dies were used to cut out the images and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. To add some green to the scene I used a foliage stamp from a Lawn Fawn stamp set. The outside frame is from the Newton's Nook Frames & Flags die set and the center oval was cut using a cross-stitched oval die by My Favorite Things. That's it! I'm pretty slow when it comes to crafting, so this Manatee Card took me most of the afternoon to make.

Birthday Pug Card

Hello! My birthday card stash is really low, so I made this Birthday Pug Card. Although I was thinking masculine when I made it, I really think it works for male or female.

The cute little pug image is from the Pug Hugs stamp set by Newton's Nook, it was colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. To make the background distress inks in: Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Salty Ocean were used along with the Bubbly stencil by Newton's Nook. A little black and white paper along the edge and the panel was matted to Tempting Turquoise cardstock by Stampin' Up!. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Love and Prayers Card

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. I've lived in Oklahoma my entire life and although I didn't know anyone who lost their lives that day it still leaves a lasting imprint in my heart. It was the day that 168 individuals lost their lives and their families were forever changed. These families are in my prayers today as another anniversary is observed.

This Love and Prayers Card was made for my Mother. She recently mentioned that many of her friends are losing their parents and she needed more cards. So, I used the same layout from a previous card (click HERE) but I changed the colors and sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Oh So Eclectic Sympathy Card

Happy Saturday! When I sat down to create this card I knew I wanted to use the Oh So Eclectic stamp set with coordinating dies by Stampin' Up! but I didn't plan on it being a sympathy card. The sympathy sentiment just seemed fitting and I'm low on sympathy cards in my stash, so I just went with it.

All supplies for this card are by Stampin' Up!. First I started by inking the bricks using a stencil from the Pattern Party decorative masks along with Soft Sky ink (a retiring color). Then I stamped and die cut all the flowers and punched the bitty butterfly. Cardstock and ink colors include: Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Sweet Sugarplum, Pink Pirouette, Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron and Crushed Curry. The hardest part was deciding how to arrange the flowers. Once the sympathy sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set was in place the flowers were adhered flat in place. Three small rhinestones were added to the butterfly and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

This Oh So Eclectic Sympathy Card is entered into the following challenges:

Purr-fect Valentine Card

Happy Valentine's Day! I have a quick post to share the card I made for my hubby. You won't see any pink on this Purr-fect Valentine Card. The background was created with the Tumbling Hearts Stencil by Newton's Nook and the stamp set is called Furry Kisses by Simon Says Stamp. Distress inks in Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers were used along with a Classic Stampin' Pad in Tempting Turquoise by Stampin' Up!. To color the cats I used Copic markers in Cool Gray and Black tones. To help pull in the eyes I used a piece of black diagonal striped paper and matted the focal panel to it. That's pretty much it, a simple Purr-fect Valentine Card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Fall Need a Pug Card

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I have a fun Fall Pug Card to share with you today. It features the cute Pug Hugs stamp set and Falling Leaves stencil by Newton's Nook. The card was inspired by the following challenges:

There are a few trees turning colors in our area but we probably have another week before the majority of the trees start to change. I love the colors of Fall and had a lot of fun using the stencil with distress inks. The ink colors used include: Scattered Straw, Brushed Corduroy, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany and Vintage Photo. The pug and small leaves from the Autumn Newton stamp set were colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating die sets. A strip of brown patterned paper and some green grass were added to break up the leaves. I decided to add circles behind the pug for a place for the sentiment. It could be an Autumn Sun setting on the horizon. Three brown sequins were added for sparkle and that's it. Thanks again for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Dreams Come True Card

Hope you're having a wonderful day! I'm still recovering from surgery and each day I'm feeling a little better. It's still hard to sit for long periods of time, so it took me awhile to finish this Dreams Come True Card. I made this card to play along in the following challenges:
To create this card I started with a piece of white cardstock and a quarterfoil stencil by Clear Scraps along with Peacock Feathers distress ink and Melon Mambo ink by Stampin' Up!. Then I stamped the Newton's Naptime with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. A stitched rectangle die by Lil' Inkers was used to cut the image and it was matted to a slightly larger piece of black cardstock. The sentiment was stamped, punched and matted to a scalloped oval punch and then everything was adhered flat for easy mailing. For the final touch three pink sequins were added for sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
