Valentine Card with Elephant

Hello! This afternoon I realized there is only ten days left until Valentine's Day. That means I need to finish my cards so I can get them mailed on time. My nephew is three and currently his favorite animal is the elephant. That prompted me to make this Valentine Card with Elephant featuring the Edward Valentine image by Bugaboo Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image using warm gray for the elephant. Papers were selected to coordinate with the colors used in the image. Instead of stamping a sentiment I used a XOXO die cut by Impression Obsession. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day. ❤

Elephant Christmas Card - TMS Anything Goes

Well... it's one week before Christmas, are you ready? If you're doing some last minute crafting we would love for you to share your project with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches! This week the challenge is anything goes, so no new sketch but you're welcome to use a past sketch (click here) if you need some inspiration for a layout. The design team has some inspiration for you and you can link your crafty creation  HERE. There are a few rules so make sure you read them before you add your link.

This Elephant Christmas Card was made for my nephew who is three. During the summer he went to the zoo and his favorite animal was the elephants. When I saw this image by Bugaboo Stamps I knew it was perfect for him. The image was colored with Copic markers and some diamond Stickles added to the white part of the elephant's hat and Christmas stockings. A piece of plaid paper by Lawn Fawn (Winter paper pad 2016) was used along with Basic Gray and Balmy Blue cardstock by Stampin' Up!. The Merry Christmas sentiment is by Hero Arts and that's pretty much it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Elephant Sunflowers Card

Hello and happy Tuesday! This past weekend I drove to my parent's house which is a couple hours away. Along the drive there were lots of sunflowers on the side of the road. I loved looking at them, they make me smile and they were the inspiration for this Elephant Sunflowers Card. Instead of focusing on the pumpkins in the Edward Fall Pumpkins image by Bugaboo Stamps, I focused on the sunflowers.

The sunflowers paper is from the Heartland Farm paper pad by American Crafts, gingham paper from the Painted Blooms paper pad by Penny Black and the woodgrain is from the Knock On Wood paper pad by Lawn Fawn. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a Alterations square framelit die by Tim Holtz. The sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs and that's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Birthday Card with Elephant

Good day! Did you know last Sunday, August 12th was World Elephant Day? I had no idea until late that night when I saw a post from the Tulsa Zoo. It was too late to make a card for the occasion but I did print out this image and laid it on my craft desk. The image is called Peaches Balloons by Bugaboo Stamps and it was colored with Copic markers. Marker colors were selected to coordinate with the retired Cherry On Top patterned paper by Stampin' Up!. I really love the bright colors in this paper! Warm Grays were used to color the elephant and neutral grays for the little mouse. A cross stitched oval die by My Favorite Things was used to die cut the image. To cut the mat a pair of deckle Fiskars scissors were used. The Happy Birthday sentiment was a freebie from Lawn Fawn that I received when I placed my birthday order. A punched circle was matted to a scalloped punched circle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Elephant Sympathy Card

This past week at the Tulsa Zoo their long time resident Gunda an Asian elephant passed away at the age of 67. She lived two decades longer than the average lifespan of an Asian elephant. My hubby and I were planning a trip to the zoo, so I made this Elephant Sympathy Card to give to the Zoo Keepers and Staff.

The elephant image is by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and it's one of my favorite older images. It's been in my stash since 2012 and I already had several printed to make a set of note cards. A paisley embossing folder by Cuttlebug, another older favorite, was used along with a scalloped frame by Taylored Expressions and the Petite Petal stamp set by Stampin' Up!. The colors include: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz all by Stampin' Up!. That's it, thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Elephant Baby Card

Happy Monday! I have a quick post to share this Elephant Baby Card. I'm sending it in an order from my Etsy shop for elephant baby burp cloths. The customer purchased the burp cloths for a baby shower gift and so I wanted to include a coordinating card. The elephant image is called Emery by Verve Stamps and it was fussy cut and adhered flat to the die cut circle. The plaid patterned paper is by Recollections with a strip of retired Basic Gray stripe by Stampin' Up!. Some twine and three silver sequins were used to embellish the card and that's it. Pretty easy and simple. I'm entering this card in the following challenges: Come and Get It (2 or More Different Embellishments) and Glitter 'N' Sparkle (Anything Goes). Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!!

Below photo are the burp cloths sold from my Etsy shop.

Give Thanks Card with Edward Fall Pumpkins

Hello and happy last day of November! To finish off this month I've made one more Give Thanks Card using the photo inspiration at the Catch The Bug Challenge. The image on this card is by Bugaboo and it's called Edward Fall Pumpkins. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut using a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. I played with some neglected corner punches and a leaf border punch by Fiskars. The Give Thanks sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. Both plaid papers are from my scrap bin. The brown is by Lawn Fawn and the orange is from DCWV. Three sequins finished off this card and that's it. I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Pastel Elephant Baby Blanket

Have you ever seen a fabric and just knew you had to make something with it? When I found this pastel elephant fabric I knew it needed to be a baby blanket and of course matching burp cloths were a must. The flannel fabric is designed by Michael Miller and the colors are lovely together. The reverse side of the blanket has a coordinating pattern and the burp cloths have lilac terry cloth. Both items can be found in my Etsy shop or click the following links:

Elephant Love You Lots Card

Good day crafty friends! This Elephant Love You Lots Card will give you a sneak peek at a new hostess stamp set called Love You Lots that will be in the 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! catalog. Using the elephant stamp I have finally attempted the mirror image technique. It came out pretty good, the mirror image isn't as crisp as the original but I don't think it's too off. I did watch a video to help with this technique, you can find it here.

The inspiration to create this card came from The Paper Players challenge to use a "wild thing" on a CAS project. The elephants were stamped using Tip Top Taupe ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock and then fussy-cut. To ground them I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and added some Wild Wasabi die cut grass using an Impression Obsession die cut. Then I embossed the clouds on the top portion of the white panel. Adding a red sparkle heart and the sentiment were the final two details and this card was done. I'm also entering this card in the "Anything Goes" challenge at Crafting from the Heart. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Sweet Baby Girl Card

This week I was sorting through some patterned papers and found this adorable elephant and star patterned papers by Studio Calico from the Story Time Collection. I really like the muted colors and subtle text in the elephant bodies. So, I made this Sweet Baby Girl Card. The cardstock colors used are Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand by Stampin' Up! After stamping Emery the elephant by Verve Stamps (it's one of my favorite stamps) onto polka dot paper I fussy-cut the image and adhered it to the stitched die cut circle. The circle was then layered onto a die cut scalloped circle then adhered to the card with dimensionals. Using the retired Itty Bitty Banners stamp set by Stampin' Up! I stamped Sweet Baby with Tip Top Taupe ink and then die cut the sentiment with the coordinating Bitty Banner framelit dies. To add some detail three sequin stars were added along with twine. That's it!

BABY Card

Recently I found out someone I know is expecting her first baby. They are waiting awhile to tell everyone but I figured it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and make a BABY Card. I'll probably hold out until after the first doctor appointment to mail the card but it's ready to go.

Since it's way to early to know what gender the baby is, I used many pastel baby colors. The plaid paper by Paper Pizzazz has a very small yellow line running through it. You can see it down the middle of the elephant. The pink and blue polka dots are retired dsp by Stampin' Up! I embossed the yellow cardstock with an argyle embossing folder and used a scalloped edgelit die for detail. The scalloped circle was cut with my Cricut machine and I fussy-cut Emery elephant by Verve Stamps for the focal image. To add the sentiment I used a stamp set by Fiskars called New Baby and the last detail was three candy dots.

Blue Baby Boy Card

Little Boy Blue is the theme for this weeks challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. The theme was very timely, one of my cousins had a new baby boy recently and I needed to make a card. I decided to mix several shades of blue along with some dark tones to provide some contrast. The background paper is by DCWV and I used some scraps from the stash for the rest. I love the little plaid elephant! The elephant and sentiment are from the New Baby stamp set by Fiskars. The finished size is 5.25" square and I kept the embellishment to a minimal for easy shipping.

We would love for you to join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz. Click here to see more Little Boy Blue inspiration from the design team. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cute & Cuddly Baby Card

Hello! I've been busy making this Cute & Cuddly Baby Card. The little elephants were stamped on patterned paper and then fussy-cut. The colors are Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. Since the Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery are retired colors, I gave a "dramatic pause" before I cut my hoarded card stock to create this card. The sentiment and elephant stamps are from the New Baby stamp set by Fiskars. I kept the design simple, a little embossing and an edge punch with the image repeated three times and this card was done. Oh... isn't it cute! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful night.

Handmade Card for a Baby Boy

Good evening! I took a few days off to spend with my hubby. We did a whole lot of nothing and it was really nice. There wasn't a lot of crafting done over the weekend but I did take a little time to make this Handmade Card for a Baby Boy. I had a friend ask me to make a card for the arrival of her grandson. I've only made a couple of baby cards and I plan to make several for her to choose from. The balloon and elephant are a digital stamp by Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I colored the elephant portion with Copic markers and printed the balloon on Daffodil Delight card stock and fussy cut both to give them a 3-D look. The cloud patterned paper is from the retired Sunshine and Sprinkles dsp by Stampin' Up!. I used the Fiskars grass punch on Lucky Limeade card stock and added a few hearts for detail. The sentiment is from Stampabilities. Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

Lucky St. Patrick's Day Card

Hello friends! I hope you're having a wonderful week and you're staying warm. It snowed here in Oklahoma yesterday and today we have more chances of freezing rain. Needless to say it's a great day to stay in my craft room!

When it comes to sending St. Patrick's Day cards, my recipient list is small. I send cards to my immediate family and that's not very many. I enjoy making cards for this green shamrock filled holiday. Maybe it's my Irish heritage or maybe it's because I LOVE the color green, but I think making St. Patrick's Day Cards is fun. This Lucky St. Patrick's Day Card is made using Edward Elephant by Bugaboo Digi Stamps, which I colored with Copic markers. The design came from this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday by Arlana Patten. Well, that's about it. I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Lucky St. Patrick's Day Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Whisper White, Garden Green, and Basic Black card stock by Stampin' Up! pastel yellow card stock by Core'dinations, Shamrock patterned paper by Recollections, and green/yellow plaid patterned paper by Paper Pizazz.
  • Stamps: Edward Elephant St. Patrick's Day digi stamp by Bugaboo and Lucky Day stamp by Stampin' Up! (I masked the shamrock and just used the Lucky!)

Paisley Elephant Card

This week at CASology the cue card word is ZOO which goes great with the Anything Goes Challenge to use Animals. The CASology challenge ends Sunday at noon so I sat down tonight and created this Paisley Elephant Card. The paisley elephant image is a digital stamp by Bugaboo Stamps. I used a paisley embossing folder by Cuttlebug on very vanilla card stock by Stampin' Up! The accent color is old olive and the thank you Itty Bitty Banner sentiment stamp set and Bitty Banners Framelits  are all by Stampin' Up! Thanks for checking out my card and have a great day!
