Color Challenge and Card

Happy Saturday! I hope you have some time this weekend to get crafty and play along with the color challenge starting today at Catch The Bug. To get all the challenge details and design team inspiration click here.

The colors are bright and cheerful! When I first saw the color inspiration photo I knew I wanted to use the Cute Dragon image to make my card. It's perfect to color green and add the purple flower. However I didn't realize the image is retired, sorry. Although, Bugaboo has several other really cute dragons to choose from click here. To work the remaining colors in I relied on patterned paper scraps for the background. Then I added three die cuts: Stitched Sun by Lil' Inkers, Sending Smiles sentiment and grass both by Impression Obsession. That's it!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a happy and crafty weekend!

Clyde Merry and Bright Card

Hooray for Friday and hooray that I've completed day 7 of the Catch The Bug Christmas in July challenge! I wasn't sure I would make it but I participated every day and now I have seven more Christmas cards to add to my holiday stash. The challenge today is a color challenge and the colors are merry and bright. I did have to search through my patterned papers to find the pink snowflakes but it was worth the digging. The image used is a new one by Bugaboo called Clydes Christmas and it was colored with Copic markers. I've stayed pretty true to my trademark style with this Clyde Merry and Bright Card. It's pretty simple, includes patterned paper and has my favorite embellishment which is twine. This card will probably end up going to my youngest niece, she keeps all the cards I give her.

Well, thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

WOOHOO! Card

This card is different for me but it makes sense if you know who and what it's for. It's for my oldest niece who is starting her senior year in a few days and her school mascot is a dragon. I wanted to make her something special in case she decides to make a scrapbook. The WOOHOO! sentiment is very fitting for the start of her senior year don't ya think? I really hope she likes it! The layout came from this weeks sketch at Mojo Monday and it worked perfectly for what I already had in mind.  The patterned papers are from my Stampin' Up! stash and the WOOHOO! sentiment is from The Paper Studio. I heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder and added some fun circles with a silver brad anchoring the center. Now, this is one card that I wish I could see her face when she gets it in the mail. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day/night!
