Nature's Beauty Sneak Peek

Happy Friday! August is almost behind us and that means the new holiday Stampin' Up! catalog will be debuting on September 4th. Today I have a sneak peek of a new stamp set called Nature's Beauty and for every set sold $3 will go towards mental health organizations. The set includes images of a rabbit, fox and deer with wonderful grass and tree accents. I made a tag using the rabbit with some grasses and paired it with new patterned paper from the Come To Gather designer series paper. Copic markers were used to color the images and a pair of deckle Fiskar's scissors were used to cut the edges. When adding a sentiment I prefer to have them fit into a shape that can be matted but that doesn't always work. The sentiments seem to stand out better which I like. Luckily I found a For You sentiment in the retired Birthday Blooms stamp set that fit into a 1 1/4" circle and I matted it with a scalloped circle. That's it! Be Joyful Gift Tag

Tag and/or bookmarks is the theme for this weeks challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. It's fun to switch things up and do something different and we would love for you to join the challenge this week. To create this Be Joyful Gift Tag I started with a precut chipboard gift tag by East of India. They are really sturdy, so I decided to paint a base layer of Martha Stewart glitter paint. Once it was dry I stamped the splatter design using Staz On Jet Black ink and then it was outlined with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Caribbean Ocean. Joy Clair also provided the cute Be Joyful Bird stamp but I couldn't find it on their website. The bird was colored with Copic markers and then punched with a 2" circle punch. A piece of Pool Party cardstock was die cut with a slightly larger stitched circle die and used to mat the bird image. Two yellow gingham banners were punched and adhered to the back of the circle for detail. Dimensionals were used to adhere the image to the tag, that's it!

Christmas Hedgie Card and Tag

It's day 3 of Holiday Chaos at the Catch The Bug blog and I'm trying to play along with all challenges. The Christmas Hedgie Card above is for the day 2 sketch challenge and below is day 3 for a Tag with Red and White Stripes. The image is called Christmas Hedgie and I used the colored version to speed things along. All papers are by Doodlebug Designs and the Merry Christmas sentiment on the card is by Kaiser Craft. On the tag... well, it's pretty simple. I used a scalloped oval frame set by Avery Elle and some Stickles for sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Butterfly Birthday Gift Tag

Hello! I have a quick post to share this butterfly birthday gift tag I made. This is only the second gift tag I've ever made but I do think I'll be making more. The digital butterflies are by Jessica Lynn Original called Winged One Butterfly and I colored them with Copic markers. Once the butterflies were colored I fussy-cut them and adhered them to the patterned paper by Stampin' Up! called Affectionately Yours. The happy birthday sentiment is by Hero Arts and it was punched with a 1 1/4" circle punch and layered with a slightly larger scalloped circle. I popped the sentiment up with dimensionals and then tied the Cucumber Crush lace to the top of the tag. That's it!

Christmas Penguin Gift Tag

Okay, making this Christmas Penguin Gift Tag was a first for me. I've occasionally included a tag on a card but even that is rare. The smaller scale of a gift tag was a bit challenging. My eyesight is not as good as it used to be and coloring smaller images is definitely a problem. So, I selected an easy to color image called Poppi Xmas Candy Cane by Bugaboo and colored it with Copic markers. All papers for this tag are by The Paper Studio. The tag is from a package of blank tags and the size is 4.25" x 2.125". Three green sequins were added for a little more color and some sparkle. It didn't take long to complete this tag and I'm guessing now that I've made one I'll probably make each of my family members one for their Christmas gifts. Well, that's it!
