Golden Anniversary Card

Good day! Last week my parents celebrated their 50th anniversary. Not many couples make it to this milestone. To recognize their special day I made them this Golden Anniversary Card. It's a very simple design utilizing the pretty golden heart patterned paper by My Mind's Eye from the Yes, Please paper pad. The Happy Anniversary sentiment and 50 were heat embossed with gold embossing powder. That's it! A simple and easy card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Significant Otter Card

Good day! I have a quick post to share this Significant Otter Card that I made for a wildlife rescue here in Oklahoma. Early in the Spring they took in a baby male otter, but they didn't have any other otters to raise him with or release with him. Then last month they got a phone call from a rescue in Kansas that had a young female otter and they decided to introduce them. Long story short.... they met, fell in love and are now released together. They have each other and it was the answer to increase the odds of their long term survival. 💚

To make this card I used the Christmas Like Not Otter stamp set by Lawn Fawn which was the STAMPtember collaboration with Simon Says Stamp from 2017. The images were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. For the water a blue inky background was made with mixed media paper and Distress Oxide inks. The grassy paper is by The Paper Studio and to frame the otters a wavy center was cut out using a Wavy Pierced die by Whimsy Stamps. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

50th Anniversary Card

Good day! This past weekend my Aunt and Uncle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. It's a wonderful milestone and I made this card for the occasion. Due to Covid there was no big family celebration, so hopefully the postal service delivered their card without delay. 😊

To make this 50th Anniversary Card I used the retired Number of Years stamp set by Stampin' Up! along with the coordinating framelits. Shiny gold metallic paper was used as the base layer then a layer of foiled gold hearts paper both by The Paper Studio. I die cut a decorative heart using the retired Bloomin' Heart thinlit die before adhering and then adhered the golden embossed Happy 50th Anniversary. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. I'm entering this card into the All About Occasions challenge at Watercooler Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Had Me at Meow Card

Hello! Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I always save making my hubby's card for last. That way I'm not tempted to give it to him super early. This Had Me at Meow Card is the card I made him. It's purple, which is my favorite color, and it features cats from the Newton's Sweetheart stamp set. The kitties were colored to look like our first two house cats. They are no longer with us and we miss them everyday. The die cut hearts were made using the Stacked Hearts die by Simon Says Stamp. Two patterned papers were used and they were both from my scrap bin. Everything was adhered to a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock by Stampin' Up and then adhered to the white card base. That's it. So glad you stopped by and I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day!

*Cats are my favourite animal because they closely resemble my personality. Sometimes I want to be left alone, sometimes I want cuddles, the food I ate yesterday... well today I can change my mind and not like it anymore. 😊You get the idea.

All Nine Lives Card

Good day crafty friends! We finally got snow this morning and it's really pretty. Our cats have been glued to the windows because I feed the birds and there have been a ton in the backyard. It's made for a wonderful day to stay inside!

This All Nine Lives Card was made for an anniversary that falls on Valentine's Day. Two Newton's Nook stamp sets were used, Newton's Sweetheart (cats, hearts and sentiment) and Newton's Valentine (little flowers). Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut with the coordinating dies. The grass was die cut using Newton's Land Borders Die. There are small red hearts all over the red paper by Doodlebug Design and a large heart was die cut and then a piece of marble paper adhered behind. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Hoppy Together Card

Hooray for the weekend! While my hubby took a nap this evening I finished this Hoppy Together Card. I'm using some of my favorites! My favorite color combo is purple, green and yellow and I love the bunny stamps by Newton's Nook. The stamp sets featured include Woodland Spring and Bitty Bunnies. You will find bunny items all in my house, from pictures on the walls, ceramic decor and purple bunny curtains in my craft room. I just adore bunnies!

The layout for this Hoppy Together Card is from Freshly Made Sketches. Once the images were stamped with Memento black ink they were colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies. When I was making this card I was thinking anniversary. My parents have their 48th coming up in a few days. Well, that's it! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Otter Anniversary Card

It's been a few days since my last post but it's been pretty busy around my house. This week my hubby and I are celebrating our Twentieth Wedding Anniversary. It has really gone by fast!!! I wanted to make a special card to celebrate and I bought the Christmas Like No Otter stamp set for Simon Says Stamp by Lawn Fawn for the occasion. We love to visit the otters when go to the local Tulsa Zoo. They are fun and charismatic creatures!

To make this card I started with a piece of watercolor paper and oxide inks in Broken China and Salty Ocean for the water and Antique Linen and Vintage Photo for the sand. After inking the paper it was spritzed with water and a heat gun used to speed the drying process. Then the panel was die cut using a scalloped frame by Taylored Expressions. The outside frame was then darkened with more Salty Ocean distress ink. I went back and stamped the waves and little circles in the water. Then the otters and images were stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. They were then die cut with the coordinating dies. The sand was die cut with a small wavy scallop stitches die by Simon Says Stamp. Everything was adhered flat to a piece of natural cardstock and that's it! Thanks for stopping by!

40th Anniversary Card

Hello! My neighbor and her hubby recently celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary, so I made them this card. I looked up the color that represents the 40th Anniversary and it's Ruby Red. The Stampin' Up! color used is Cherry Cobbler with retired Tip Top Taupe. The layout on this card evolved as I played with the pieces. My original idea didn't work with the size of the flowers, so I tried a smaller flower and didn't like it, so I just moved everything around until I was content with the way it looked.

Supplies used include*:
  • Paper: Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler cardstock along with retired 2015-2017 Designer Series Paper.
  • Stamps: Number of Years and retired hostess Morning Meadow stamp sets.
  • Ink: Cherry Cobbler and Tip Top Taupe Classic Stampin' Pads.
  • Other Stuff: Big Shot, Large Number Thinlits, Pansy Punch, retired Bird Builder punch (leaves) and stitched circle die by My Favorite Things.
*All supplies by Stampin' Up! unless noted.

Cat Couple Anniversary Card

This weekend my hubby and I are celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary. It's amazing how the years have flown by. I decided to make this Cat Couple Anniversary Card for him because our cats are the center of our lives. Before my hubby met me he never dreamed he would have a house cat, but he inherited one when we got married. Eventually we added another, and then another and ever since we've had three cats. We've been through some tough times when we lost our first and then our second kitty companions. At one point he said "NO more", it's too painful when they pass on, but I convinced him there are too many who need love to guard ourselves from the hurt. He was hesitant but now agrees with me. Here is our current kitty crew:

Waiting for dinner
To the back is our oldest, Sassy (she has pretty green eyes), in the middle is Mr. Dickens (the sweetest cat ever) and then we have Tazzy (our lovable and crazy cat). Since we were never able to have children, our kitties fill a big hole in our hearts and they provided wonderful entertainment.

This Cat Couple Anniversary Card is entered into the following challenges:
Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red cardstock by Stampin' Up!
  • Stamps: Pussy Cat Luv digital image by Robyn's Fetish and Love sentiment stamp by Autumn Leaves.
  • Inks & Coloring: VersaMark ink, Silver embossing powder and Copic markers.
  • Other Stuff: Heat tool, white Sakura Gelly Roll pen, silver sequins, and stampin' dimensionals.

Handmade Anniversary Card

One of my coworkers asked me to make her a Handmade Anniversary Card to give her husband. I found this request to be quite challenging. The only detail she gave me was the color maroon, it was their wedding color. I started by searching for the right image and was delighted to find this Milk Shake image by Kenny K. I colored the image with Copic markers and a classic stampin' pad in Baja Breeze applied with a blender pen. The patterned papers are from my retired stash of Stampin' Up!. For the sentiment I used a stamp by Verve Stamps and used the scissors to cut the banner. The scalloped border is a die cut from the Adorning Accents Edgelits set by Stampin' Up! The layout isn't fancy but I really like the Baja Breeze and Bravo Burgundy colors together. I guess that about sums it up. Thanks for stopping by!

Floral Anniversary Card

Good morning! This week I have the privilege of being a guest designer for 'ABC' Challenges. The theme is Wedding or Anniversary Cards. I chose to make an anniversary card for my brother and his wife. Their anniversary is next week. When they got married their colours were red and black, so I took that into consideration when picking my colour scheme. I used Bravo Burgundy, Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, and Very Vanilla colours to create this Floral Anniversary Card. The rose, by Inkadinkado, was stamped on watercolor paper by Stampin' Up! and coloured in using a blender pen and classic stampin' pads in Bravo Burgundy, Primrose Petals, Garden Green, and Wild Wasabi. I did a little stitching, added a few pearls and some ribbon for detail. It ended up having a very classic look and it was a lot of fun to create. I hope you have time to play along with 'ABC' Challenges. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Friday!

Handmade Anniversary Card

Hello and Happy St. Patrick's Day! I chose not to make another St. Patrick's card. I have a different occasion to share. If my great-grandparents were still living, today would be their 80th wedding anniversary. They were married on March 17, 1933 and they made it 71 years together before my great-grandmother passed away. I asked her one day how she stayed married that long? She replied with "never go to bed angry, always work it out." Words of wisdom! When I think of their accomplishment, it still makes me go "WOW!" I've been married 15 years and that is just a fraction of the time they spent together. This Handmade Anniversary Card was made thinking of their marriage and the great role models they were for our family. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Handmade Anniversary Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Black folded card by Recollections, white card stock, and Lattice Foiled Silver patterned paper by The Paper Studio.

Handmade Anniversary Card

The challenge for today is a color challenge from CR84FN.  My first creative thought is not at all what I ended up with.  Funny how that works sometimes.  I had several papers that I could have used but I decided to play with ribbon today.  The picture doesn't really show that the broad ribbon is an ivory shimmer ribbon that I layered with a pale yellow ribbon.  An elegant look is what I was hoping to achieve with this handmade anniversary card.

Handmade Anniversary Card Supplies:  Pale yellow cardstock, gray texture cardstock, gray glitter patterned paper by DCWV (The Linen Closet Matstack, MS-003-00055), random ivory shimmer ribbon, pale yellow ribbon by Offray, gray satin ribbon by Essentials (865-5078), flower Belle Button by Dritz (BB966), Happy Anniversary stamp by Stampabilities (FR1035), and London Fog dye ink by Memento (ME-901).
