Beautifully Baroque Card

Thank goodness for Thursday because I'm ready for the weekend! Of course I'm always ready for the weekend regardless of what day it is!

The card I created today features the colors from The Play Date Café to use:
Cream...Melon...Cantaloupe
These colors are very pretty together and since one of the new in-colors at Stampin' Up! is Crisp Cantaloupe, I couldn't wait to play along. This Beautifully Baroque Card is made with the new stamp and coordinating embossing folder by Stampin' Up! To add a little dimension I stamped the image a second time on a small strip of paper, attached it to the label love sentiment and popped them up with dimensionals. For the design I used this weeks Monday Lunchtime sketch at Technostamper. To keep the design simple I ended up eliminating the banners at the bottom. I added a few pearls to the label to add a little elegance and that was it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

My Beautifully Baroque Card is entered into the following challenges:
Beautifully Baroque Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz and Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and Pear Pizzazz patterned paper from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper collection.
  • Stamps: Beautifully Baroque* and Label Love*.
  • Inks: Classic stampin' pads in Pear Pizzazz and Crisp Cantaloupe.
  • Other Stuff: Big Shot, Baroque embossing folder*, Artisan Label punch*, pearl basic jewels and stampin' dimensionals.
*All supplies by Stampin' Up!, Bundle & Save with Beautifully Baroque Bundle and the Label Love Bundle in Wood or Clear.

Bat Halloween Card

Happy Friday everyone! This past week was busy for me so I didn't have time to make a card until today. I have to tell you I'm loving the weather this morning! It was a cool fifty degrees and it's really the first morning that it feels like fall. In case you haven't looked at the calendar lately, we now have 26 days until Halloween and I can't wait. This Bat Halloween Card was made using the Color Splash challenge at The Play Date Cafe and the Halloween challenge at Craft Us Crazy. I recently received the Toxic Treats stamp set by Stampin' Up! and I couldn't wait to use it! The bottom picture shows the little embossed purple toad on the bottom of the card. Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a wonderful weekend!!!

Great Birthday Card

It is evident that I have fallen behind on some of my favorite challenges. There are so many that it's hard to keep up. This afternoon I realized that I only had a few hours left to create a card for The Play Date Cafe's color splash challenge. Since I was pressed for time I went with my favorite glittered zebra patterned paper and created this Great Birthday Card. The splash of green is lucky limeade by Stampin' Up! and the bling is by Recollections.  Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Bright Heart Card

Combining challenges can be a creative kick start to a card creation. Today, The Play Date Cafe color challenge meets the Card Positioning Systems sketch challenge. Once you have a color scheme and a sketch. everything else is in the details. This Bright Heart Card features a embossed background enhanced with the sponging technique. This technique comes in handy when I don't have patterned paper with the right colors. I love how this one turned out. Have a happy and crafty Saturday!

Bright Heart Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Lemon yellow cardstock, white cardstock, orange cardstock, and bright pink cardstock.
  • Stamps: Floral Fillers stamp set by Stampin' Up! (retired) and sentiment stamp by Hero Arts.

  • Other Stuff: Fancy fam embossing folder by Stampin' Up! (127751), full heart punch by Stampin' Up!, sponge, glitter button by American Crafts, yellow doodle twine, and stampin' dimensionals.

Floral Congratulations Card

The color green is one of my favorite colors.  My paper stash includes many different shades of green.  There is olive green, emerald green, dusty green, leaf green, bright green, and I could go on.... but you get the picture.  So, where was the mint green when I needed it?  Well, evidently the law of creativity states that what you need you never have.  This weeks color challenge at The Play Date Cafe includes: mint, soft yellow, coral, and tulip.  The colors together are very soft and pretty and I was determined to find something that worked.  I ended up using a patterned paper from Emma's Shoppe Collection from Crate Paper.  The design for this floral congratulations card is from this weeks sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches designed by Jen Mitchell.  Creating with circles is always fun and this card was no exception.

Floral Congratulations Card Supplies:
  • Paper: White cardstock, patterned paper by K & Company (Sweet Nectar designer mat pad, 30-657083), soft yellow cardstock, and patterned paper by Crate Paper (Emma's Shoppe Collection, ES868).
  • Stamps: Congratulations sentiment stamp by Stampin' Up! (Curly Cute stamp set, 120510).
  • Ink: VersaMark watermark stamp pad and Zing! embossing powder in white.
  • Other Stuff: Doily flower sticker by Martha Stewart Crafts (41-00158), fancy scroll Glitter on a Roll by Recollections (181164), and stampin' dimensionals.

Butterflies & Zebra Birthday Card

When The Play Date Cafe color challenge came out yesterday I knew I had to play along.  The colors in this challenge are beautiful together.  I decided to combine the colors with a sketch challenge at Card Positioning Systems.  I gathered all the patterned papers and cardstock that would possibly work but once I found the yellow zebra paper I had to use it.  The end result is this butterflies & zebra birthday card.

Butterflies & Zebra Birthday Card Supplies:
  • Paper: White cardstock, textured pale yellow cardstock, poseidon cardstock by Core'dinations (GX-OS040), portrait collection patterned paper by Crate Paper (PT906), and yellow zebra patterned paper by The Paper Studio (460964).
  • Stamps: Curly Cute Happy Birthday sentiment by Stampin' Up! (120510).
  • Inks: ColorBox chalk ink in aquamarine.
  • Other Stuff: Butterfly punch by Martha Stewart Crafts, corner punch, rhinestones by Recollections, and stampin' dimesnsionals.

Wildest Dreams Card

The challenge today is from The Play Date Cafe.  It is a color challenge using black, blue, and white.  My mood was a little "wild" today and that lead to this wildest dreams card.  I don't naturally gravitate to blue, but I love the zebra pattern paired with blue.

Wildest Dreams Card Supplies:  Black cardstock, blue cardstock, white cardstock, zebra patterned paper by The Paper Studio, Fiskars scalloped edge punch, EK Success butterfly punch, zebra background stamp by Stampabilities (UR1020), VersaMark watermark stamp pad, Zing! black glitter finish embossing powder, heat tool by The Paper Studio, blue rhinestones by Recollections, computer, printer, blue ribbon by The Paper Studio, and dimensionals.

When I saw the blue in this picture, I just went with it.  I guess the definition of "splash" is open to creative interpretation.
