Thanksgiving Oak Card

Good day! It's time to say goodbye to the month of September and I thought the best way to do that was with a Thanksgiving card. To make this Thanksgiving Oak Card I used a stamp set available at Unity Stamps called Thankful Oak. The images were stamped onto very vanilla cardstock and colored with Copic markers. A piece of bark patterned paper from the Enchanted Harvest paper pad by Bo Bunny (2015) was selected and everything adhered flat. The butterfly was fussy cut and  positioned over the sentiment and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Celebrate Card - TMS #611

Good day! It's almost the 4th of July and although I don't send many cards for this holiday I do make a few. This Celebrate Card was made using this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches designed by Patti Rowe. The sketch is super simple and perfect for those quick last minute cards. My card features patterned paper from the Celebrating Freedom paper pad by Bo Bunny. I added a strip of silver glitter paper down the middle of the stars for some sparkle. The celebrate was die cut using a Momenta die and that's it. As always, we would love for you to join us this week! For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Thinking of You Cards

In these crazy times it's nice to take time and send cards for no particular reason. That's why I love having Thinking of You Cards in my stash. Recently a friend asked me to make her a couple and these are the two cards I made for her. I ended up using patterned paper from two different Bo Bunny paper pads along with some Doodlebug Designs striped paper. It's hard for me to cover up pretty papers, so I used layouts that let the papers be the star of the card.

Does anyone have advice for getting die cuts to release better? The fancy die cut I used with the jade green paper on the first card does not want to release the small curved areas in the middle and side. The first one I made looked much worse, the second attempt was better but if you look close you can tell it's not as smooth as it should be. Anyway... any good advice is welcome.

Thanks for stopping by!

Yellow Butterfly Blossoms Card

Good day! Before I get to my card I have a question for you... have you ever spent time looking for something you swear you have, but it turns out you never purchased it? I looked for a Thinking of You die that I would have bet money I had, only to realize I never bought it. I gave up and looked through my order history at Simon Says Stamp and it wasn't there. I looked through my stash of cards I've made and there is no evidence I ever used it, so I must have dreamed I bought it.  😕

Onto this Yellow Butterfly Blossoms Card that I made using the Butterfly Blossoms stamp by Reverse Confetti. Last year I planted a butterfly bush by my back porch and I've had a lot of butterflies in my yard the last few weeks. When I look out the window it's fun to watch them and I love the big yellow ones! They were the inspiration for this card. I decided to use blue for the background paper and searched through my stash to find the Genevieve Collection paper pad by Bo Bunny (2015). A Thinking of You stamp by Momenta was used to finish the card and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. My grandmother is in a memory care facility and I send her cards, although I don't know if she remembers me at this point. It was last year at Thanksgiving when I saw her last. This Covid pandemic has prevented family from normal visits. Thankfully she is in a good facility and they are staying healthy. I'll be sending this card to her. Thanks for stopping by!

Latte Birthday Wishes Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Latte Birthday Wishes Card. The Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop started on Friday and this is the first card I've had time to make. The papers are by Bo Bunny from the Stay Awhile collection and they were already on my desk from a card I made last month. I decided to use a Tim Holtz image from the Fresh Brewed stamp set and Copic markers were used to color the image. The sentiment is by Jaded Blossoms from the Coffee Break stamp set and it was heat embossed using Vintage Pearl embossing powder by Ranger. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and two sequins added for a touch of sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cat Thinking of You Card

Good day crafty friends! Today is the start of the 2019 Cat Lovers Blog Hop and I've made this Cat Thinking of You Card to play along. It features the Really... Kitty? stamp set by Unity Stamps and the image was colored with Copic markers. The kitty was colored to look like my first house cat that I had when I was in high school (photo below). She lived with me for twenty years before she crossed the rainbow bridge and she was the sweetest kitty I've ever had (so far). I wanted to use Fall colors and found the brown hearts paper from the Penelope paper pad and mixed it with the leaves from the Beautifully Brisk paper pad both by Bo Bunny. The sentiment is retired from the Wetlands stamp set by Stampin' Up!. For a little sparkle three sequins were added and that's it. The Cat Lovers Hop is going on through October 26th and you can find all the details HERE. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

The mug was created solid but I stamped small hearts onto my mug and then the image was colored with Copic markers. Blue Butterfly Note Card

Hello! This year I didn't make any cards for the Fourth of July holiday. I did want to use some patriotic colors, so I made this Blue Butterfly Note Card. Since the floral paper is pretty bold and the colors are strong, I kept it simple. No added embellishments. The floral patterned paper is by Bo Bunny from the Celebrating Freedom paper pad and was matted to a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock by Stampin' Up!. The butterfly is also by Stampin' Up! from the Beautiful Day stamp set and it was colored with Stampin' Blends markers in Night of Navy. Using a heat gun and Vintage Pearl embossing powder by Ranger the sentiment was heat embossed. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon.

Vintage Butterfly Card - TMS #510

Hello and happy Tuesday! I can't believe it's already July. There's not too much I like about summer but I do love butterflies. This weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches was perfect for this Vintage Butterfly digital image. It was printed onto Very Vanilla cardstock and Copic markers were used to color two of the butterflies. Floral patterned paper from the Floral Spice paper pad by Bo Bunny was used for the background and Bermuda Bay cardstock for the scalloped frame. A small little flower and leaves for detail and that's it. We would love for you to join us this week! You have until Sunday at 8 pm to link your creation. Mother's Day Card

Recently one of my friends asked me to make her a Mother's Day Card and this is the card I made for her. The design is based from a previous card I made, but I have changed up the colors to make it different. It features patterned paper from the Secret Garden paper pad by Bo Bunny, embossing, lace and paper flowers. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts and was stamped onto white cardstock with Rich Razzleberry ink by Stampin' Up!. I think it turned out lovely and I hope her mother loves it. Wishing you a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Simple Things Card - TMS #500

It's a super happy Tuesday today as we celebrate challenge #500 at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I'm glad you stopped by and thank you for celebrating with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches. It's quite a milestone to reach our 500th challenge. We're so excited about this accomplishment that we decided to have a blog hop. Be sure to start at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog, follow the hop and finish back at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

In case this is your first time visiting my blog, I'm Andrea and I started making cards in 2011. I've been on the Tuesday Morning Sketches design team since November of 2018, but I started playing along in their challenges in 2013. I took a look back through the years and found the first time I played along from TMS #184 and my card is HERE. It's fun to look back and see how our design styles have evolved. Being part of the design team is such an honor and I enjoy seeing how differently the sketches are interpreted each week. Our sketch this week is a little challenging at first glance, but really it's super easy and open to so much possibility with stamps, dies and borders. My card came together pretty quickly and features a Spellbinders Flourish Trim die, patterned paper by Bo Bunny from the Early Bird 6x6 paper pad and Time to Enjoy sentiment stamp by Hero Arts.

The prize I am offering is....

Bo Bunny Pocket Full of Posies stamp set and Early Bird paper pad.

Be sure to comment here on my blog and link up your creation on the TMS blog to be considered for prizes. Yes! You can win a prize here and also on the TMS blog.

The next stop on the blog hop is... Debbie.

Enjoy the hop!

Happy Easter Card - TMS #492

Welcome and happy Tuesday! Today at Tuesday Morning Sketches we are featuring Patti's favorite sketch of 2018 and she selected sketch #464 from last July. You can see the original post HERE. We would love for you to join our challenge this week! Just make a card using the sketch and link your creation by Sunday, 8 pm EST. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration.

When it comes to sending handmade cards for Easter, I usually make and send around eighteen cards. So, I decided it was time to get started. This Happy Easter Card was pretty easy to make and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. The little bunny was created using a Martha Stewart punch that I've had for many years. I've used one of my favorite color combos of purple, yellow and green. The patterned paper is from the Cottontail Collection by Bo Bunny and the sentiment is from the You're Inspiring stamp set by Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Joyful Snowman Card

This time of year can be very hectic! I started making this Joyful Snowman Card on Saturday and I just finished it this evening. It took me awhile to decide on the colors and I finally decided on non-traditional blue and purples. The patterned papers are from the Altitude Collection by Bo Bunny and the image is called Snowman and Birds by Bugaboo Stamps. A mix of Copic and Stampin' Blends markers were used to color the image. Then a stitched rectangle die was used to cut the image which was then matted to a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock. The snowflakes were die cut with a Cricut machine and to give them a little sparkle I painted them with sugar cube glitter paint by Martha Stewart (it dries quickly which helps speed things along). The final addition was the Joy to the World sentiment by Stampabilities which was matted to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock. That's it! So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Fall Butterfly Birthday Card

Good day crafty friends! There are still a few butterflies fluttering around my flowers, but a hard freeze is expected in the next few days. The freeze will definitely put and end to the remaining annuals that have been trying to hang on. So, I was inspired to use a butterfly on this Fall Butterfly Birthday Card. The floral patterned paper is by Bo Bunny (Stay Awhile Collection) and the Granny Apple Green polka dots is by Stampin' Up!. Using Memento black ink the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set by Stampin' Up! was stamped and then colored with a mix of Stampin' Blends and Copic markers. The butterfly was fussy-cut and adhered flat to the card. To finish the card the Happy Birthday Wishes sentiment from the retired Avant-Garden stamp set by Stampin' Up! was matted to a Granny Apple Green scalloped oval and adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Butterfly Fall Blessings Card

The weekend is almost over and Fall/Autumn has officially arrived. I'm happy to report we received some much needed rainfall and the weather is much cooler. When I was in my backyard this afternoon putting seed out for the birds I noticed several butterflies fluttering around the yard. They were all different, some large and some small. I have several perennials they like to visit and a sage bush that is also popular with the hummingbirds. The backyard butterflies inspired me to make this Butterfly Fall Blessings Card. The stamp is from the retired Watercolor Wings stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from the Enchanted Harvest paper pad by Bo Bunny. To finish the card I added the Fall Blessings sentiment by Impression Obsession along with three retired candy dots by Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs and Kisses Card

Hello and happy Thursday! A couple of years ago I bought this Spring Bunnies stamp by Wild Rose Studio because it's darling and I love bunnies. However, I've been hesitant to use it because I didn't think my coloring skills would do it justice. When I saw this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches I decided now was the time to give it a try. Copic markers were used to color the image with light brown tones for the bunnies: E50, E53, E30 and E95. Other colors were selected to coordinate with the Bo Bunny patterned paper from the Early Bird Collection. To follow the sketch I used my sewing machine for the squiggly element and then I added a gold bow for detail. The sentiment is from the retired Good Greetings stamp set by Stampin' Up! and three rose colored glimmer dots were added, that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Pastel Birthday Wishes Card

Hello and happy Labor Day! Before my craft room turns completely Fall I decided to make this Pastel Birthday Wishes Card using the Bo Bunny Early Bird patterned paper collection. I found a great deal on the 6 x 6 pads last week and I bought a couple extras to giveaway! So, if you're a follower of my blog and you comment on this post, two lucky winners will receive the Bo Bunny paper pad from me. Winners to be announced in a couple of weeks.

The image on this card is by Bugaboo Stamps and it's called Flower Teapot. It was already printed and die cut, just waiting on my craft desk to be used. I thought the teapot goes well with the patterned papers, so I colored it with Copic markers and made it the focal image. A little Blushing Bride stamped butterfly was added along with the birthday sentiment both retired by Stampin' Up!. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the Labor Day holiday!
