Autumn Blessings Card

Well, hello! It's been awhile since I've been able to make a card. One of my cats broke the tip of her front right elbow and had to have surgery. After surgery was 7 weeks of cage rest with minimal activity. Finally, we got the all clear that she can go back to normal activities. It was a long and hard 7 weeks, since she is only 9 months and still full of energy. I'm praying things will calm down now and life can get back to some kind of "normal."

This Autumn Blessings Card was made using dies from Unity Stamps and the wreath is from the no longer in business Reverse Confetti Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Autumn Season Card - TMS #573

Hooray! Today is the first day of Autumn/Fall here in the US and that makes me very happy. There are a few trees in our neighborhood that are already starting to change color. We usually end up with lots of leaves in our yard but that's okay. I'll just be glad when we no longer have to mow the lawn!!!🍁

Today is the start of another new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch is designed by Melissa Craig and I thought it was perfect to use the Beautiful Autumn stamp set by Sunny Studio Stamps. The design team made a variety of of different themes for your inspiration. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Just remember the deadline to link your creation is 8 pm EST on Sunday. We hope you will play along! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Fall Acorn Hi Cards

Good day crafty friends! There is only 12 days until the arrival of fall/autumn here in the United States and that makes me very happy. We were lucky enough to have a cold front push through our area and the temperatures feel like fall. Since this year has been challenging for most, I decided to send simple fall cards to family. These Fall Acorn Hi Cards are easy to make and flat for hassle free shipping. When I make multiples of the same layout I always change the papers. Rarely will I make two identical cards. The acorn is from the retired Acorny Thank You stamp set by Stampin' Up! and it was punched with the coordinating punch. I've been hoarding my fall paper pads for awhile, so the papers are from several different pads and scraps. Well, that's about it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Autumn Greetings Card - TMS #522

Hello and happy Tuesday! This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a sketch that could easily be a one layered card. To create this Autumn Greetings Card I decided to used a retired stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Fall Fest. I stamped several leaves directly onto a piece of woodgrain paper that was sprayed with white Dylusions ink. Then added a few die cuts before matting it to a piece of olive green cardstock. A few drops of Honey Gold Nuvo drops were added and that's it. The design team created a variety of inspiration using the sketch designed by Melissa Craig. Click HERE for all the details and inspiration. We would love for you to join the challenge this week! You have until 8 pm EST on Sunday to link your creation. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Newton Autumn Greetings Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share my latest card. It's an Autumn Card to play along with the color challenge at Inky Paws. Are you ready for Autumn? I know I am!!! I'm much happier when there is a cool breeze in the air. For those of you counting down the days there is 33 days until the official start to Fall/Autumn here in the United States.

This Newton Autumn Greetings Card uses two different stamp sets by Newtons's Nook. The main image is from the Autumn Newton Stamp set and the sentiment and gourd image is from the Harvest Tails stamp set. Copic markers were used to color the images and the coordinating dies to cut them out. Distress inks in Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint were used on the focal panel using the ink smooshing technique. The patterned papers are from the Happy Camper paper pad by We R Memory Keepers and that's it. This card is also entered into the animal challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Autumn Bunny Card

Hello and happy Wednesday! My hubby was home the last couple of days, so there was no crafting going on at my house. He is at work today, but then he will be off tomorrow through the weekend. While I had some time to myself today I made this Autumn Bunny Card using a stamp by Whimsy Stamps called Bunny in Leaves (retired). The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a square alterations framelit die by Tim Holtz. Since the image is on the larger size, I opted to make a square card. The layout is from the sketch at Cheerful Sketches Challenge. The leaves and plaid patterned papers are from the Fall Blessings paper pad by Carta Bella (2015) and were matted to Shaded Spruce cardstock by Stampin' Up!. There is no added embellishments to this card, just a sentiment from the Harvest Tails stamp set by Newton's Nook. That's it and thanks for stopping by.

Autumn Newton Card

Hello and happy Friday! One more day until the arrival of Fall/Autumn! A cool front is arriving in our area today and we are expecting some rain, both of these make me happy. Our weatherman assured us the heat is over!!! So, bring on the cooler weather.

There are several Fall/Autumn challenges right now and I made this Autumn Newton Card to participate in a few. My intent when making this card was to send it to my Aunt Cindy, but now I kinda want to keep it. I just love the mix of colors and of course the Autumn Newton stamp. The floral patterned paper is from the Woodland Forest paper pad by Pebbles (2016) and the Fall plaid is by Lawn Fawn. I made the inky background using Distress Oxide Inks and then die cut it with a deckle die by Tim Holtz. After stamping and coloring the images with Copic markers they were die cut with the coordinating dies. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Fall Card with Squirrel

Happy Tuesday! In a few more days Fall arrives and I'm definitely looking forward to cooler weather. There are so many things about Fall that I love, the crisp air, smells of pumpkin bread baking in the kitchen and the crunch of leaves beneath my feet. In my craft room I love using rich Fall colors! So today I made this Fall Card with Squirrel featuring the Autumn Squirrel image by Bugaboo Stamps. The look on the face of the squirrel is just so cute! To color the image Copic markers were used and it was a bit tricky with this being a digital stamp. There are several places where the black outline smeared, but I'm calling it shading. The background paper is from the Autumn Crisp paper pad by American Crafts (2013). A little twine was added for detail  along with three sequins for sparkle. The sentiment is from the Harvest Tails stamp set by Newton's Nook and it was matted to a scalloped circle. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Newton Thankful Card

Hello and happy World Card Making Day! This morning I had some fun playing with patterned paper and Newton. To get my card started I found a sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Instead of making the card square, because I rarely mail my square cards, I went with an A2 size. The image and sentiment are from the stamp set called Autumn Newton by Newton's Nook. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with the coordinating dies. I used one of my favorite paper pads by Doodlebug Designs called Flea Market. The polka dot oval was die cut using a cross stitched oval die by My Favorite Things. Fiskars deckle scissors were used to cut the yellow oval mat. An oval punch was used for the sentiment and it was matted to a green apple scalloped oval. The final touch was the three yellow glitter enamel dots by Stampin' Up! and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have time to get crafty today!

Penguin Hello Autumn Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Penguin Hello Autumn Card I made for a few challenges. A couple of weeks ago I saw this Penguin image used and it's so cute I had to buy it. The image is called Penguin Apple Bushel and you can find it at Whimsy Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut using a cross stitched oval by My Favorite Things. Most of the papers are from the Woodland Forest paper pad by Pebbles (2016) with the exception of the gingham which was in my scrap bin. The Hello Autumn sentiment is from the retired Cheer All Year stamp set by Stampin' Up! and Memento black ink was used. Three green candy dots were added for detail and that's it!

Autumn Fun Card

Happy Saturday! Hopefully you are having a great day! It's been pretty calm around my house, so I made this Autumn Fun Card using the new Autumn Newton stamp set. This stamp set will see a lot of action for my Fall card creations. I really love the Newton's Nook line of stamps!

To make this Autumn Fun Card I started with the inky panel. A piece of mixed media paper was cut to the desired size and inked with Distress Oxide Inks in: Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick. Then it was spritzed with water using a distress sprayer. A heat gun was used to help speed the drying process along. Next the Autumn Newton images were stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. The coordinating dies were used to cut out the images. A brown frame was die cut and adhered to the inky panel. Then to cover some liquid glue issues I added some brown metallic paint to the frame. Both patterned papers are from the Pumpkin Spice paper pad by Simple Stories (2015) and were matted to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock by Stampin' Up!. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it!

Framed Autumn Greetings Card

Hooray the first day of Autumn has arrived!!! This is my favorite time of year and although cooler weather isn't arriving until late this weekend, I'm happy Autumn is here. To celebrate the day I made this Framed Autumn Greetings Card for the following challenges:
This Framed Autumn Greetings Card was fun and easy to make. I liked stamping multiples of the leaves to make a leaf wreath to accent the scalloped frame. The leaves are from the Vintage Leaves stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the colors include: Hello Honey, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. The Soft Suede scalloped frame was cut using the Frame in Frame cutting plate by Taylored Expressions and the Autumn Greetings sentiment is from Inkadinkado. For a little sparkle five sequins in matching colors were used and that's it!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

4 x 7 Thanksgiving Card

This afternoon I decided to shake things up and make a different sized card. It's been awhile since a made a 4 x 7 card, so that's what I did. This 4 x 7 Thanksgiving Card is a casual design. I used the Truly Grateful stamp set by Stampin' Up! and a scallop die by Spellbinders. The twine is from American Crafts and I added a few Candy Dots by Stampin' Up! The colours are full of Autumn tones using Soft Suede, Natural, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and a small amount of Daffodil Delight ink for the wheat. I decided to stamp the inside of the card with the sentiment instead of the front, just to be different. One of my favorite things about 4 x 7 cards is I always have envelopes for this size. Well, that's about it. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Thoughts of You Card

**For the Gone Batty Challenge please click here or scroll down.** Thanks!

Good morning! This last week was really busy for me and I had no time to even step foot in my craft room. So last night I did some late night crafting and created this Thoughts of You Card. It was nice to start the weekend off with some creative therapy. There were several challenges that inspired this card and one sad goodbye to Cath Edvalson who is leaving Moxie Fab World and Paper Crafts Magazine. There is a Cards for Cath link up going on right now in honor of her last day. I'll really miss the Tuesday Triggers and daily inspiration that Cath has provided over the years and she will definitely be missed. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Maple Leaf Thanksgiving Card

Hello! It seems another weekend has flown by and World Card Making Day has come and gone. This Maple Leaf Thanksgiving Card was my World Card Making Day creation. The layout comes from the sketch at Create with Connie & Mary. I kept the card simple because I didn't want to distract any attention from the glossy Maple Leaf. The plaid paper is from the Sweater Weather dsp (132184) by Stampin' Up! and the maple leaf was cut using the Big Shot and the Autumn Accents Bigz die (127812). The final touches were the Crushed Curry Candy Dots, white twine, and the Thanksgiving sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (128748, wood). Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Gently Falling Grateful Card

I'm super happy that Autumn has arrived. It's been a little cooler the last couple of days but I'm still waiting for that "big" cool down to hit Oklahoma. Hopefully this year we will have some pretty Autumn color when the leaves turn. It's really hit or miss in our area but one thing is for sure, the leaves in my craftroom have already turned. This Gently Falling Grateful Card features a golden Maple leaf and a burnt orange Oak leaf. I used the rock-n-roll technique with the Gently Falling stamp set by Stampin' Up! to create the leaves and then I fussy-cut them. The layout for this card comes from this weeks sketch at The Paper Players created by Sandy Mathis. When choosing the colors for this card, I was inspired by the color inspiration photo challenge at the Love to Create challenge blog. The final challenge I considered when creating this Gently Falling Grateful Card was the Fashionable Stamping Challenge to use Autumn Colors. The twine and candy dots were the final touches to this card and now I have one more completed Thanksgiving card. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific day!

Gently Falling Grateful Card Supplies*:
  • Paper: Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla cardstock, sandable cardstock by Core'dinations in Brownie, and Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper.
  • Stamps: Gently Falling and Truly Grateful stamp sets.
  • Inks: Classic stampin' pads in Crushed Curry, More Mustard, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Baked Brown Sugar, and Chocolate Chip.
  • Other Stuff: Big Shot, Pretty Print embossing folder, sanding block, Adorning Accents edgelit, yellow twine by Doodlebug Design, and chocolate chip candy dots.
*All supplies by Stampin' Up! unless noted.

Houndstooth Give Thanks Card

Hello! I have a quick post this evening to share my Houndstooth Give Thanks Card. There are many Fall/Autumn challenges out right now and I thought it would be a good time to get a head start on my Thanksgiving cards. It seems I always procrastinate and end up making them all the week before I need them. This year I'm trying to be a little more proactive.

With the exception of the sentiment and embossing folder, all the products used on this card are by Stampin' Up!. Many of the products are retired but they had the look I wanted for this card. I used last years Festival of Prints paper stack, French Foliage stamp set, Cajun Craze dsp and More Mustard card stock. The current products are Natural cardstock, Old Olive cardstock, Early Espresso Core'dinations sandable cardstock, Antique Brads, and Old Olive Candy Dots. The sentiment stamp is part of a larger stamp that I masked and it's from last years dollar bin at Michaels. For the embossed borders I used an Organic Flourish folder by Cricut Cuttlebug. After all was put together I really wished I would have moved the sentiment, brad, and strip of Cajun dsp down a quarter of an inch. It would have centered the brad between the two bottom leaves. Hindsight is always 20/20. Thanks for stopping by and have a great night and pleasant tomorrow!

Truly Grateful Card

In case you haven't looked at the calendar, there is five weeks left until the beginning of Autumn. I don't know about you but I'm ready for Autumn to arrive. I LOVE the rich colors of the turning leaves and the crisp Autumn air.

Today I played with a couple of my new stamps and created this Truly Grateful Card. Before placing my last order I debated about buying the Magnificent Maple stamp because I have a ton of leaf stamps already, but I'm really glad I did. It's a wonderful size and it stamps beautifully.

This card was made with NO special tools. All I used was Stamps, Ink and Paper to participate at 'ABC' Challenges. When I first starting making cards I didn't have a lot of tools to use. This challenge took me back to the basics. The Natural Composition background paper has a woodgrain glossy finish and I sponged on whisper white craft ink to give it a whitewash finish. The other colors are: Early Espresso, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, and Whisper White. The sentiment and acorn are from the new Truly Grateful stamp set from the Holiday Stampin' Up! catalog. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!!

Falling for Fall Challenge

Good morning! Are you ready for another challenge? This weeks theme at Created With Love Challenges is Falling for Fall. Our sponsor is Shelly's Images and they provided the beautiful Pumpkins digital stamp featured on my card. I coloured the image with a mix of Copic and Stampin' Write markers. The sentiment was heat embossed and the woodgrain embossed panel was sanded to enhance the texture. For the final details I used a decorative corner punch on the image panel, added a brown glitter leaf brad, and adhered the image panel with stampin' dimensionals. Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a FABulous day!

Falling for Fall Challenge Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, pumpkin pie, and sandable Early Espresso card stock by Stampin' Up! and Samantha Walker patterned paper by Creative Imaginations.
  • Stamps: Pumpkins digital stamp by Shelly's Images, and Autumn Greetings sentiment stamp by Inkadinkado (98549).
  • Inks & Colouring: Copic and Stampin' Write markers, and Early Espresso embossing powder by Stampin' Up!
  • Other Stuff: Corner punch by Creative Memories, Woodgrain embossing folder by Stampin' Up!, leaf brad from Harvest seasonal collection at Hobby Lobby, and stampin' dimensionals.
