yes, sometimes compilation times can be very long
 (expecially with projects using C++)

a lot of effort is being put into sourceinstall2, so if you want to submit a patch (for any of the two development trees), it is more than welcome.

A little box that shows how long something's been compiling and add the final time to the ~/.sourceinstall/pacakages/PACKAGE file would be nice.
