Trendy Twine - Mittens in Winter

Good 1st Sunday to you in this new year!

I am on the Trendy Twine blog today and we are featuring Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.  You will probably see a lot of pink being featured this month! :-)

I started this card by piecing together a few pink and white patterned papers I had in my paper stash and adding to the pink card front.

I then wrapped a length of bright pink crinkle seam binding around the vertical center of the patterned papers and tied it in a fussy bow at the top of the card and embellished it with a big pink button laced and looped with a Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine bow.

The striped frame was stamped in white snow ink, on pink cardstock added to the center o the card front.  I filled the frame with some die-cut mittens which I tied together in a shape of a heart using Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.  The sweet sentiment was added to the bottom of the card.

Thanks for peeking in!

Warmest Winter Wishes

Monday Winter greetings! At The Kraft Journal this week, we have a Winter challenge for you!!! So please share a card or project with us using Kraft cardstock or products from The Kraft Outlet
I started with my favorite Brown Kraft Coverweight cardstock and cut and folded to an A2 size card.  I pieced together my two patterned papers joining them with a piece of felt ric-rac. I gave it a little more embellishing by adding buttons and laced them with Natural Hemp Cord
To make the focal image, all products are from My Creative Time (except the sequins which are from my stash). I started by die-cutting a stitched oval frame from white cardstock and stamping the sentiment in the upper right corner in black ink. I die-cut and pieced together the skates adding white glitter to the cuffs. I randomly placed a few sequins in the oval for a little added decoration.

Last, I took a length of White Twill Tape and wrapped it around the card front and simply finished it off in a bow.

Please be sure to head over to The Kraft Journal blog to see the projects created by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Winter creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be showcased in the "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher to The Kraft Outlet store.

I am editing to note that I get to play in Darnell's challenge because I realized that I played with new goodies when I created this card. The stamps and dies are new...Yay! So I am joining in at NBUS Challenge #3.

Have yourselves a wonderful day!

Penguins In Igloo Fun! {DeNami Design}

Hey There!

I thought I would share a card I created for the DeNami Design Blog. It's featuring one of their new stamps they just released Penguins in Igloo.  I decided not to add a sentiment to the card front so I could leave open for a couple of options.  I am always in need of Thank You cards after the holidays, so this would be a darling option for that.  Another option would be to create an invitation on the inside for a Holiday Party. It sure looks like those cuties are saying come in and let's be Merry!

It's a simple one, just by adding a few layers of solid and patterned paper to the base, you create a cute frame for your focal image, and a pretty cute card!  You can either color in with markers or pencils. For a little extra sparkle, I used a Quickie Glue Pen and Blue Ice Glitter to their hats. Easy to change out color combinations as well. The possibilities are limitless.
It's simple, but cute! I hope you have a Terrific Thursday! Thank you for stopping by for a quick visit. I always appreciate it!

I am also sharing at Pause Dream Enjoy - Christmas.

The Kraft Journal 155 - Winter Greetings

Hi!

It's Monday and that means it's time for another challenge at The Kraft Journal!  For this week's "Winter Blues" challenge, I got started on my focal image first using the emboss resist technique. I used a wreath image from Papertrey Ink, Wreath for all seasons. I used Tim Holtz distress inks to create my blue background. I stamped PTI Background Basic Hearts onto a piece of white cardstock with coordinating distress ink and punched two hearts and layered them in the center of the wreath.  I matted it onto a coordinating mat stack die from Papertrey Ink.
To build the card, I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock onto which I pieced together patterned papers from my stash.  I cut two banners one of which is embossed with a snowflake embossing folder and layered them on the right side of the card front.

The sentiment was made from Seasonal Chit Chat Word Stickers. A length of crochet trim was added to the top of the card. Next I then moved to the bottom of the card, and took pinking shears and trimmed a piece of white cardstock to give another decorative touch. I wrapped the card front vertically with a length of White Twill Tape and tied off in a bow where I then created an additional multi-loop bow from Metallic Twist Hemp Cord embellished with a Custom Fastener
I hope you enjoyed this winter greeting and will join in the fun with the winter blues challenge at The Kraft Journal this week.  All those that participate in our challenges for the month will be entered to win a $15.00 gift certificate from The Kraft Outlet. This also may get you considered for the Feature Me Friday artist post on The Kraft Journal blog.

The Kraft Journal #154 Color Challenge - A little Dash of Winter Cheer

Hello~

{This is my second post of the day, for Paper Sweeties January Release Day 1 click here}

It's Monday and that means it's time for another challenge at The Kraft Journal. This week we bring you a color challenge.  I started with a card base of Medium Kraft Cardstock which I followed by adding my patterned papers from my scrap pile. :-)))
I then added a paper doily to the center followed by a banner I cut and stamped/embossed using snowflakes from Paper Sweeties Snow Friends set. I added a sentiment at the top of my card from Paper Sweeties Warm Winter Wishes.
Here is where I took a more literal approach to the inspiration picture: Using a silhouette machine, I cut a snowflake from Medium Kraft Cardstock and covered it with Frosted Lace Stickles to give the appearance of an iced cookie. I then layered it to it's coordinating shadow which I cut from pink cardstock I had in my scrap pile.  In the center, I added a crochet flower which has been embellished with Yellow Baker's Twine bow and a soft yellow button threaded using Natural Hemp Cord

Here is the color challenge graphic to provide you with some wonderful inspiration!
I hope you will join in the fun with the color challenge at The Kraft Journal this week.  All those that participate in our challenges for the month will be entered to win a $15.00 gift certificate from The Kraft Outlet. Paper Sweeties PSIC15 - Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe a new year is upon us! I've been with Paper Sweeties one year today! Woohoo! It seems like it was just yesterday that I was writing my first Paper Sweeties Inspirational Challenge Post. Well, it's the first of the month and a new Inspirational Challenge at Paper Sweeties.

Here is my card for the new challenge.

I started by piecing together my patterned papers adding a strip of black and white damask ribbon to the center. I was inspired by the darling snowmen outfit the cutie has on in the inspirational photograph. I went with the snowman from Snow Friends.  I gave him a little snow sparkle with some dazzling diamonds glitter and then I placed Mr. Frosty on a snowflake cut from felt.
I masked the sentiment from Occasions Stamp Set to fit my stitched label.

Please be sure to visit the other Paper Sweeties Inspiration Design Team Gals to see what fabulous creations they have created for your viewing pleasure. We have some new additions to the Paper Sweeties Family.

Paper Sweeties November Release Rewind - All that Glitters....

Hey there!

I am back today along with the Paper Sweeties Design Team to show off one final project for the November Release. Today's card uses a "New" image as well as a sentiment from a previous release. The stamps are in the store, and I hope you have had a chance to pick some up!

I started with my focal image. I heat embossed the wreath from Make The Season Bright using Aqua embossing powder.  I took a sentiment from the previously released set Friendship Warms The Heart and masked it to fit inside the wreath. I used a white pigment ink and heat set with white embossing powder. Since we are on the subject of GLITTER *grin*, I added some to my focal image and layered it on a snowflake I die-cut from white glitter paper onto which I layered on a die-cut scallop heart from pink glitter paper. The rest is just little layers of goodness to complete the card along with a fussy shabby bow embellished with some baker's twine and bling!

I hope you will visit the rest of the Design Team to see what they have created today!
I am also sharing at Just B Creative - November Linky Party, Word Art Wednesday - Anything GoesSunday {Fun}day - November Linky Party, The Ribbon Carousel - Holidays and Celebrations.

Winter White

Happy Monday Morning to you!

For my DeNami Designs Blog Hop post click here.

I have a winter  white on white card to share with you today.  I have always wanted to do this, and the current Go Fish Challenge pushed inspired me to FINALLY do this.

Here is what I came up with! Ok, very hard for me to photograph! I was too lazy busy to take the time to reshoot it with a colored background.
My blog friend Colleen Dietrich always adds beautiful pearls to her cards and I just hoard them. She inspired me to actually use my stash!  I added some glitter touches to the snowflakes!
Close up of the snowflake border!
I promise you it is much better looking and detailed in person! :-)

I am also playing along with DYSU: Let it Snow, and Top Tip Tuesday: Anything Goes

Here's hoping your week is off to a crafty start!
