With Sympathy using Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler

Hi!

I have a Sympathy card I needed for my son's teacher and family. Her father-in-law passed away this week. Pretty sad, and my son is super close to his teacher. So we wanted to make her a special card.

On another note, I had a non-bloggy friend ask me about using Paper Smooches stamps in a non-cutsie and whimsical way, so I thought this might be a good example for her.
In my case, I pulled an inspiration layout from the current Mojo Monday
I used With Sympathy from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.  I die-cut a burlap heart from a scrap of burlap added a tulle flower, paper rose, and tucked in some white tulle from my stash to the left of the sentiment panel following the prompt of the sketch.
I took a length of Aqua Mist seam binding and wrapped it around and tied in a bow and embellished with some Natural Hemp Cord and embellished with an Aqua Button. The papers are from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Portobello Road.

Well, that about covers the basics.

As mentioned, inspiration was found at:

Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes

Little Scrap Pieces - Show it Off Saturday, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Really Reasonable Ribbon - Flowers, Buttons or Bows. Craft-Dee-BowZ- Anything Goes Handmade Bows, Craftin' Desert Divas - Anything Goes, Just B Crazy - April Linky Party, Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes.
Thanks for visiting me! I always love it when you stop by my little place of creativity!

Joy To The World

Hi Ya'll!

Hope you are set to enjoy your weekend during this busy time of year. I have to start off by saying I had every intention of creating a flat card. I needed one for mailing far away. It didn't happen! It's hard for me to do it when I tell myself I have to do it. I guess the inner creative devil in me. :-)

So here is my "almost" flat card! Ha!

I started with a Brown Cover Weight Kraft Cardstock onto which I added my cute cute pattern paper by American Crafts. I die-cut a stitched journaling card from My Creative Time and placed to the right of my card front. I paper-pieced a tree from Paper Smooches All Yule Need to the right corner. From that same set, I added a sentiment and paper-pieced holly leaves and berries to upper left corner!

To complete the card, I added a double bow, button and twine. So out the window went my flat card!

I am joining in at Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes, Paper Issues - Christmas, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Just B Creative - December Linky Party, Curtain Call Countdown to Christmas2 Creative Chicks - Christmas/Winter, Sunday {Fun}day - December Linky Party, Scrapping Everyday Miracles - Christmas Theme.

Further inspiration was found at Mojo Monday - Sketch.
I hope you have a blessed weekend!

You Make My Life Brighter

Hi Folks!

I am going to share a card where I use a mix of stamps from various companies. I know some crafters do not like to do this, but I like getting full use of my supplies and mixing and matching can put together a pretty neat card!

I created a card that shows appreciation for a teacher.
I started with some fun school bus paper which I added to my card base. I rounded the top right corner. Using a Notebook Rubber Cling Stamp by Stampabilities stamped in a light blue ink on white cardstock.  I trimmed it out and rounded the corners and placed on an angle. I stamped You Make My Life Brighter from Paper Smooches Giddy Bug set.
Next I grabbed a stamp from Unity's Smarty Pants set and stamped it with black ink on a blue die-cut that I had in my stash of cuts that obviously didn't make the cut on a previous make. When this happens, I keep a ziplock bag of the misfits to use for a future project. :-)

I die-cut an apple using my cricut and added for a decorative touch.  An Easy Peasy card to show a teacher they have made an impact!

Further inspiration was found from Mojo Monday's 292 Sketch

Also linking up to Sunday {Fun}day Linky Party #9!

I hope you have a Fantastic Friday!

It's Your Birthday - Do the Hula!

Good Morning!

Coming on real quick today! My son was invited to a Hula Birthday Party at a neighbors. So I pulled out my beloved retired stamps that saw much use when I lived in Hawaii. I also found some papers in my stash that was purchased at a LSS when we lived there as well. It was just scraps, so I put to good use today.  Times like these always proves why we hoard and not get rid of those things we rarely use! :-))))

I didn't have a lot of spare time, so I pulled some inspiration from the Mojo Monday Sketch this week. So here is my fun little card which is making me miss those warm sunny days with the beautiful trade winds.
I started with a bright and sunny yellow card base adding my layers of fun tropical prints. I created a tag and antiqued my edges and stamped my vintage Hula Girl in Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored her in with Prisma Pencils and Mineral Spirits. A length of pink ric-rac trim was added to the top for a decorative touch and some natural raffia ribbon was looped through and tied in a bow.

The sentiment is from Dandelion Designs (a company based in Hawaii) and a Hono (Turtle) image was stamped in kraft ink.

Hopefully our little Hula Birthday girl likes it!

I hope you have wonderful things planned for the weekend. We will be taking the short stack to an Open House at a Baseball Academy for food, fun, and baseball drills. He love loves loves baseball right now, so he is pretty excited.

Here is the Mojo Monday sketch I flipped.

I am also joining Paper Issues - Stamp On It!
Pixie's Crafty Work Shop - Snippets and scraps! :-)

I have to give a shout out to my friend Colleen who helped me get a better understanding of a photo program I have but I didn't know how to utilize. Still so much to learn....just need more hours in the day!

Hugs and Blessings!

Inspired By Stamping August Peeks!

Hello crafty friends,

(Blog Candy Alert details at the end of the post)

Welcome to the second group post for the Inspired by Stamping August release. I hope you were able to check out the gorgeous designs yesterday by Deb, Kim, Irit, Colleen, and Joanna.

So let's get started shall we...
My inspiration for this card started with this beautiful fabric tape you see on the bottom of my card and on the tag. Yellows and blues are so pretty together!   I stamped the soon to be released Mason Jar on vellum and fussy cut it out. I then flipped the image over and stamped the Butterflies on the reverse side in two different blues and a fun bright yellow! The sentiment is from Mason Jar Add On II.
Love this gorgeous tape!

For my next card, I used the Mason Jar again, but this time I used Copic markers to fill it in. One of our favorite drinks around here is Strawberry Lemonade, and for a treat, I will add in some Grenadine both for flavor and color! We also drink out of Mason Jars!
A little sneak look at some beautiful crochet trim now being carried!
I started with a Lunch Bag Kraft card base. I used the letterpress technique on the upper portion of the card, and pieced together with the pink gingham patterned paper. I took a length of gorgeous Rosewood satin ribbon and wrapped it horizontally around my card front and tied off in a bow embellishing with a button.
Finishing touches included die-cut strawberries that have been kissed with glitter, buttons and a sentiment from Mason Jar Add On II.

My next project was inspired by the upcoming fall season. Everywhere you look, there are ad campaigns for Going Back to School!!!

This project would be perfect to give to a teacher on the first day! I have friends that are teachers, and they do get tons of apples, but how about Apple Butter and a complimenting card that your child could give to introduce themselves? Now that would leave a lasting impression! :-))))
If you don't have little ones heading back to school, this set could be used for anyone. This would make a great hostess or neighbor gift.
Using a sentiment from Mason Jar Add On! The frame is from
Mason Jar Add On II!

We love apple butter in our house, and if you visit a pick your own orchard, you may be wondering what to do with all those apples. There are many easy canning recipes and tips on the Internet.
I started with a cream card base and pieced together my patterned paper trimming the excess and rounding the corners.

And now for my final card! (Thanks for hanging in there with me)
I started with a Lunch Bag Kraft card base, and added some vintage white paint for a shabby touch. I added some beautiful patterned paper to the card base adding a hand-cut banner from a vintage book to the right side of the card front. Using coordinating paper a rectangle was cut and added as the next layer. A length of seam binding was wrapped horizontally across the top portion of the card and tied off in a fussy bow embellishing with a button and twine.

For the focal image of this card I used a sentiment and frame from Mason Jar Add On II  which was stamped on a coordinating Spellbinders die adding to a beautiful doily. A gorgeous bloom was added as finishing touch.

Further inspiration for this card was found from the current Mojo Monday sketch.

I hope you have enjoyed these projects! Please pop on over to the other talented ladies showcasing this new release today!

Thanks again for letting me share with you!

Follow Your Bliss

Hey there!

I have a fun little card to share and a bit clean from my usual style of late. I had a little fun with my oval punch and created this flower using some gingham papers in my stash! :-)))
I was further inspired by the sketch over at Mojo Monday.  I substituted the circle for the bloom I created  and added the hand-cut banner at the bottom with a sentiment from Inspired By Stamping Inspiring Sentiments.
The butterfly was punched and embossed and some bling added to the center!
The color inspiration comes from The Paper Players
And Papercraft Star: Gingham or Checks
Moxie Fab: Gingham Challenge

So there you have it, nothing fancy but a little fun with an encouraging sentiment!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Inspired by Stamping Featured Designer

Happy Mother's Day to you!

**I am thrilled to share that this card was chosen as Papercraft Stars Runner Up and given the Quasar Award**

Today over on Joanna's blog Inspired By Stamping I am the featured Design Team member. I am still truly excited to have been asked to join her Design Team along with the other talented ladies.  I am so honored!  Joanna will be featuring a new designer each Sunday and today is my turn. I have a card to share with you that I have made for today's event.

I started by adding a fun patterned paper strip to the right side of my black and kraft polka-dot paper. A length of burgundy grosgrain ribbon was tied around the lower portion of the patterned paper panel and tied into a double bow embellishing with a beautiful flower  to the center.

The beautiful clock is from the new release Paris and coordinates nicely with Spellbinders standard circles. I chose to go with the nestie that would give me a border, but the smaller nestie fits it perfectly. A banner was hand-cut and stamped with a sentiment from Small Fancy Label 3. I stamped the postmark in Antique Linen for a subtle appearance. Some more beautiful flowers were added and can be found in the Inspired By Stamping store. I am not only smitten with the stamps, but I am totally in love with these flowers. So perfect for embellishing a pretty card!
I found further inspiration for my card using the Mojo Monday Sketch.
I am also joining in Papercraft Star - Use a stamp and
Young Crafter's Unite - No coloring allowed.
Thank you for visiting me today. I would truly be honored if you went to the Inspired By Stamping blog today!
Hope your day is special!

Get a look at this story board to draw Inspiration from!
April 14, Sponsor May Arts
I decided to get my Mojo Monday on this week, so I created a card based on this layout.
The stamps I used were Wilson Designs' Spring Silhouettes.  The paper is an assortment in my scrap pile.  The flowers are from Michael's. I just adore these so much and just like the lace trim I can't seem to stop using them. My sentiment panel was distressed with my new little handy dandy Tim Holtz distress tool. It's so fun to distress things when you are not using your fingernail! :-)

I am also going to play along with Hand Stamped Sentiments- Easter, Creative Inspirations - Easter. Thanks to Heidi who told me about the ABC DT Challenge - Easter Card.

I sure hope you will join in the fun and play along!  Please check out the Off The Wall Craftiness blog for the details.  Be Sure to stop by the rest of the Design Team's blog for some talented inspiration! It just might put a little spring in your step! :-)  AmyJaclyn, and Tenia.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Birthday Time!

Hi!
I am back with another birthday card. I used a layout inspired by Mojo Monday and color inspiration from  The Play Date Cafe to pull it all together.
Here is the sketch from Mojo Monday
Here is the color inspiration board by
The Play Date Cafe
The stamps and designer paper are a cute line by Nikki Sivils. This butterfly is so fun! I stamped the butterfly image on the pattern paper in the line and fussy cut it and popped it up finishing it off by adding some green pearl embellishments.
Until next time.....
~Tammy~
