Happy Mother's Day!

Good Monday Morning!

I made a sweet card for my Mom and needed to wait till after Mother's Day to share it. It felt good to get in my craft room and get crafty. It's nice to know that I still remember how to put something together.

The colors in the Card Concept photo was a jumping point for me. I used some Melissa Frances papers I have hoarded because they were so pretty. So of course who is more deserving than Mom? The pink heart is actually hand stamped by me. The rest was just little bits of this and that to embellish it.

I will share at Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes and The Card Concept - Mother's Day. I was inspired by the pastel colors.

Hope everyone has a good week.

You are for a fact Amazing: Mother

Good Day!

I hope your week has been going well as we are halfway through already!
I have another Mother's Day card to share. I had lighting issues as Mother Nature was not on my side. It's so much prettier in person!

I started with a Cameo Coral 5 x 5 card base onto which I added my patterned paper.  Lace trim was added to both sides of my stamped panel. I die-cut a circle from burlap and added two paper leaves and a beautiful cabbage rose flower to the center. A bow was added embellished with a button to complete the card.

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello~

Are you getting spring where you are?  It's still down right chilly in my part of the world. I froze at my son's little league game last night.

So, I brought a little spring in this Mother's Day card.

I started by creating a 5 x 5 card base onto which I added my patterned papers. I tried to use up supplies I've had in my stash. A length of crochet trim was added to the card front along the transitioning paper patterns. I painted a chipboard butterfly and roughed it up for a vintage feel and added it to the center of a blue daisy embellishing further with a yellow rose to the center.

A seam binding bow was added and layered with raffia adding a silver button to the center. I stamped Happy Mother's Day in black ink in the lower right corner.  Lastly, a few sequins were scattered for a final finishing touch.

Using Buff Ivory Cardstock, I created a pennant for the center next layering on top with another pennant from patterned paper. I then created a fussy bow from Aqua Mist Seam Binding which I embellished with a gold button and Natural Hemp Cord to complete the card.

Thankful for...{PSIC#30}

Hello There!

It's the first of the month, so that means I am kicking off a new project for Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge.  The inspiration is "Celebrate Mom" you can find the inspiration photo at the bottom of this post and on the Paper Sweeties Blog

I began this card with a card base of Brown Kraft cardstock. I added some beautiful floral patterned paper to the base.  I die-cut an oval from Buff Ivory cardstock which I distressed the edges with ink.  I tucked a small doily under the oval die-cut before it was adhered down. I then wrapped a length of Raspberry Seam Binding around the card and tied in a bow which I embellished with a cream resin flower.

For the focal image, I used the Tea For Two Sweet Cuts which I built my own sentiment from You Are The Most Wonderful and Season of Love. Below the sentiment, I used a snippet of a velvet floral trim adding some Spring Peeps Sequins to the center of the flowers.

Make It Monday with The Kraft Journal - All About Her #170

Happy Monday Friends!

{I am honored that this was selected as a Top 5 at Craftin Desert Divas on 5/11/14}

This week our challenge at The Kraft Journal is "All About Her". This would be a great time to work on those Mother's Day creations! We would love to see them. All you have to do is incorporate some Kraft somewhere in your project or use products sold at The Kraft Outlet
I started with a card base of Buff Ivory Cardstock onto which I layered Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock to a piece of patterned paper.  For some visual interest, I stamped various florals and butterflies onto the kraft piece. I rounded the right corners of the card for another fun touch.  Next, I took a length of Aqua Mist Hand Stained Bias Tape and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a fussy bow embellished with Yellow Baker's Twine and a button that was laying on my desk.

The Happy Mother's Day sentiment was stamped on a banner cut from Buff Ivory Cardstock.  Lastly, I created a focal point that was stamped using images from My Craft Spot Jar Full of Flowers on Buff Ivory Cardstock and layerd on a coordinated mated cut of aqua patterned paper.
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your All About Her creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi!

**Woohoo, thrilled that this card was chosen as Hand Stamped Sentiments Artist Pick**

I am actually sneaking in with another Mother's Day card that I worked on the end of the week, but never got a chance to post. As stated on Friday, It's proving to be a busy busy, but fun weekend, so I thought I would I would quickly share this card. (no inky time this weekend)

I also want to say thank you and hi to my new followers and email subscribers! It makes my heart smile you like what I share to want to come back and visit me. I appreciate every one of my comments!

I started with a gray card base (Stampin' UP! ) and pieced together different papers and distressed their edges before adding it to my card base. A length of seam binding was added to the right side of my card and tied in a fussy bow dressed up with a button and some twine.

A lacy circle was die-cut adding a pretty patterned paper circle to the center which was embellished with some beautiful paper roses. A labels three was die-cut distressing the edges and stamped using Inspired by Stamping Small Fancy Label 3.  The Happy Mother's Day sentiment is from Inspired By Stamping Floral Love.  As a final embellishing touch a linen and crochet bloom was added to the lower left of the sentiment panel.

I found inspiration at Hand Stamped Sentiments. Close to colors as I had.

Mothers

Hello~

In honor of Mother's Day, I have created a card to share for the occasion.
I started this card by piecing together some patterned paper and adhering to my kraft card base. A length of vintage pink seam binding was added and tied in a fussy bow dressed up with a button and twine.

Today I used a sentiment about mother's which was layered and mounted on several different Spellbinders dies and mounted slightly off to the right of the card front to allow room for the beautiful fussy bow.

I am personally joining in these challenges.

Thank you so much for visiting me! I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL weekend! We have a very busy one ahead. We are starting tomorrow with taking the short stack to the Home Depot Kids Work Shop followed by his ice skating lessons, back home for much needed home improvement and garden work. Then it's on to an afternoon invite by friends of ours from Hawaii that's hosting a Cinco de Mayo party. Sunday has us going to a minor league baseball game which my son has earned through their book club. It will be fun and exhausting, so I am not sure I will be getting crafty!

Ta Ta for now!

A handmade flower...

Hi!

**Woohoo This card was selected as The Shabby Tea Room's Honorable Mention Cup of Tea! Yay! Thank you so much**

I have been working on some other projects that I am not able to post yet, but decided to take a break and create a handmade flower from felt. The Shabby Tea Room has a challenge to make handmade flowers this week, so I thought I would take this opportunity to try my hand at one I have been wanting to do for awhile. I didn't have a lot of extra time today, so I basically put this card together with things leftover from other makes.  The card came together very quickly. Making the flower took the longest and that didn't take long at all. Even the sentiment panel was already stamped and leftover from another make. Easy peasy!

I know I usually am better about being descriptive, but I am running short on time as I have to take the little one to his swimming lesson! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions! I will be happy to answer.
A close up of the flower.
As mentioned, I was inspired by The Shabby Tea Room: Homegrown Flower Inspiration this week.
Also swinging in Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge: All snippets on this make!
Moxie Fab: Handmade Embellishments - Felt Flower was all cut and made by hand.
Thanks for dropping in! I've got some things I am catching up on, and I will be swinging around real soon I promise!

Seeds of Happiness for Mom

Edited to note this card was chosen as City Crafters Artist Spotlight May 10th, 2011.
Hello~

Just jumping on to share another card I created for Mother's Day! Those who are married know that you must come up with not only one card, but two for Mother's Day! This one is on the way to my husband's Mom.

I used the colors from the City Crafters Challenge Blog as my inspiration.
Such a beautiful collection of flowers. So, keeping with the floral theme in the photo, I used a die cut from K & Company.  The tag is stamped Mom from the set Let's Rock by Wilson Designs.  My cardstock base is from Stampin' UP!, and the Designer Paper is from Me & My Big Ideas.
I am also playing along with My Craft Spot: We love you, Mom.

Hope your Mother's Day is filled with much love and appreciation!

Thank you so much for popping over to visit!

Mom

Hi

(If you are looking for the Wilson Design Release post from last night click here.)

Wow, Mother's Day is just a few short days away, and oddly enough, I have my Father's Day cards completed and I am just getting around to my Mother's Day Cards. My Mom actually reads my blog, so she has been instructed to NOT READ THIS POST until after Sunday! I have also had to be clever with my craftiness since I am staying with her so she doesn't see what I am working on. J
To kick off my inspiration, I used Jay Gee's Nook Photo challenge! So many possibilities!
Love the retro vibe and the Let's Rock set just released by Wilson Designs was perfect.
Creating a kraft cardstock to form my base which is layered with a mix of designer papers. Then onto trimmings of crochet lace, pink twine, and a crinkle seam binding bow finishing off with a pearly button to complete this retro Mom's Day Card!

I will also enter this card at My Craft Spot: We Love You Mom which is to make a card or project for your Mom that's easy peasy and The Kraft Journal: Mother's Day. That's a check!

Thank you so much for all your sweet comments over the last few days! I read each of them and they mean so much to me! As all crafters know...followers and your comments keep us going and I appreciate mine so much! I just wanted to take a moment to say that!

If you are a Mom, I hope you get to the Royal Treatment this weekend, if you are not, then may you be spending it with someone who has been very special in your life.J
