Paper Sweeties June Release Countdown!

Hello there!

I'm back today with another Paper Sweeties card to share as we countdown the days to the new release!  Just like yesterday, the team is having a hop to share with you some inspiration using the new sets to be released on June 15th at 12:00 a.m. EST.

I created a card using a color combination I love seeing together. *smile*. How sweet are those two birds sitting on that love branch?  This set comes from Splish Splash. That sentiment is the sweetest. You can use this for a wedding or anniversary card or make to give to your own lovey! :-)

I hope you will visit my teammates and see what they have created for you today using the sets from the new release!

Giddy Bugs

Hey y'all!

It's Finally Friday, it's been when of those weird weeks in my neck of the woods. You know the 1 step forward and 5 steps back. I have not found my New Year Rhythm yet for sure. Most have been things beyond my control, but I would like to get back to some sort of routine.  Anyway, you didn't come here to listen to all that!

I have a fun little card to share with you.
I am longing for the day right now when I see those cute little lightning bugs again! Oh yes, the days of summer! This girl is not a fan of the cold or winter, so I needed to create something to make me smile and look forward to what's to come. I had fun mixing and piecing together the papers.  Most of them are pieces from My Mind's Eye Everyday Flair.
I used Paper Smooches Giddy Bugs and sentiment from Good Gab. I added a length of black satin ribbon around the card front and tied in a knot finishing the ends with pinking sheers for a decorative edge. Not a lot of embellishments today, but lots of paper layers! :-) I just had a little time to play. :-)

I think I will share at Paper Smooches Sparks this week since it's Anything Goes!
I love these gals, so I am also sharing at Just B Creative - January Linky Party, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes!

I hope you like my fun little/quick make today!

Have a FABulous FrIdAy!

Paper Sweeties June Release Day 1

Hi folks,

I have two cards to share with you for the Paper Sweeties June Release. We are doing things differently this month and having the release a little early since the summer tends to have a lot of wedding scheduled and with that comes summer anniversaries. Paper Sweeties is releasing 5 new sets and they will be available for purchase June 4th!

Okay enough chit chat let's get to it!

I started with a Navy Blue card base onto which I added my layers of yellow and chevron gray patterned paper.
I stamped the Bride and Groom Silhouette using Wedding Day in black ink onto my frilly oval die-cut which I placed in the center of my card. I added a silky gray bow embellished with a Navy Blue button.

I created a fluffy flower from yellow tissue paper and placed that in the lower left corner. To complete the card, I stamped the Best Wishes sentiment on a petite banner in navy blue ink.

For my second card, I created an Anniversary Card using Live Laugh Love.
I actually gave this to my husband for our 18th wedding anniversary! Frilly and all! He expects nothing less from me! :-) Ha!

I started with a black card base adding my black and white Damask patterned paper. I wrapped a length of seam binding around the card face and tied in a fussy bow embellished with a button. I stamped my image from Live, Laugh, Love on a label die offsetting it to the left to leave room for the Happy Anniversary sentiment.  I finished off this delightful card with some various blooms in my stash as well as adding pearls and a rhinestone just below the sentiment.
Please be sure to head over to the Paper Sweeties Blog to see what the other talented ladies have created for the upcoming release! You can also find a complete list below, so be sure to leave them some love.

I am joining in at Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes, 3 Girl Jam - Anything Goes with Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  See you tomorrow for Day Two of the peeks!

Happy Anniversary - IBSIC 18

Hi!

I have an Anniversary Card to share with you today!

I started with a Lunch Bag Kraft card base from The Kraft Outlet and added my patterned paper (g.c.d. studios) to the card front.  I added a length of crochet trim that has a ribbon weaved down the center.  Lots of layering using some Spellbinders dies to create my take on the sketch.
Finishing touches include pearls, a flower and leaves from my stash.

Here is the sketch!
I am also joining over at The Kraft Journal - Anniversaries and Weddings.

Have a terrific Thursday!

Tissue Paper Spiral Flower Tutorial

Woohoo Wednesday
Tissue Paper Spiral Flower Tutorial

I have a little tutorial to show you how to reuse that tissue paper leftover from gifts.

My tutorial today will show you using white tissue paper many of us have, and how to add color to get a fun effect. I have made projects using colored tissue paper for a brighter embellishment.

So first gather your supplies you will need…
You will need:
Tissue Paper
Scrap card stock
1 inch hole punch
Glue
Embellishments
A misting spray (i.e. Tattered Angels, Mr. Huey’s etc)
A box (not pictured)

To start take your tissue paper and cut strips about 12 inches by 1 inch and layer them and fold in half. *This step is optional, but I like mine wrinkly, so I balled mine up and then lay flat again.

Take the stack of tissue paper and twist.
Do this all the way to the end.
Next is the fun part!!!  Take your twisted tissue paper and place in a box. (I have used an old shoe box)

Mist the tissue paper till you get the desired color.
Starting at one end take your twisted misted tissue paper and roll in a spiral.
Take a one inch circle punch and your scrap cardstock and punch out your circles to glue your flower to for stability.
Next your flowers are ready for embellishing.
The only additional step I have taken is to die-cut some leaves which I have misted with a light green.
A Close Up!
Hope you will give these a try to embellish your next papercrafting projects! Drop me a comment if you do, I would love to see your creations.
Have a great one! I will be back tomorrow with some sneak peeks for the July Inspired By Stamping release.

I am personally adding this to the Playing in Paradise - Wedding/Anniversary challenge.

July Cupcake Craftroom Layers Challenge

Hello There!
Welcome to July's Cupcake Craftroom monthly challenge!  This month's Challenge is
layers. We want to see you pile it on.
Layers can be matting and layering, 'piling it on', adding elements and image toppers, building up different papers, layers of a border...the possibilities are endless.
I have used some new papers that are now
available in the Cupcake Cards & Crafts store called Flourish.
It's an elegant paper line, and I love it!!!
I started with a white card base and pieced together the patterned paper from the Flourish line.
I added two scalloped borders in the sage green damask print to offset the blue a bit.
A doily was applied to the center of the card front. A banner was hand-cut and layered on top of the doily. A large scallop oval was die-cut to mat the solid blue oval (also included in this collection) and stamped Happy Anniversary to the center.
Final touches include embellishing with pearls,
satin angel wings, paper roses and a multi-loop bow.
Again, please visit Cupcake Cards and Crafts to check out this new
gorgeous line of papers called Flourish.

I hope you will join in the fun with us this month at The Cupcake Craftoom .

We look forward to seeing what you create with this layers challenge.

Thanks for visiting me today!

Happy Anniversary Cameo Style

Hi-Ya!

I designed an Anniversary card for the latest City Crafter's Challenge - Back to Black.  The challenge is to incorporate any black silhouette image. The main requirement is the silhouette has to be in black. I had the perfect stamps in mind for this challenge.

Here is what I came up with!

This card was created from papers all in my scrap pile, so I just sized up a little of this and that and added a heart doily. I thought it was the perfect addition for a lovey dovey Anniversary Card! The stamps I used are from Wilson Designs Spring Silhouettes and Simply Silhouettes.

I have some black lace in my stash I added to the bottom next adding black and white buttons to dress this Anniversary Card up a bit.  I created a sentiment banner adding a couple black rhinestones.

That's it for me today!  Hope the rest of your day is wonderful and thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Anniversary CAS

Happy Saturday!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend! Ours is event packed for sure, but I found time to sneak in some crafty time, but it had to be a clean and simple card! I took my little one to an Easter Egg hunt this morning, and I am so proud of him...he found the Golden Egg! Yay! He turned it in for a Clifford the Big Red Dog stuffed animal! Now we are off to see the Easter Bunny!

My Aunt and Uncle are celebrating their anniversary today, so I made this card for them.  Last year was their golden anniversary! So this makes 51! Wow!
I used a little photo and sketch inspiration along with some awesome Wilson Design Stamps
I always love Judith's inspirations over at JayGee's Nook.
A great CAS sketch from Clean & Simple Sunday
to make a fun little card for a great couple who have been happy for many years!
I used Wilson Designs' Ride Away with Me for the focal image, and the sentiment is from Spring Silhouettes . The flower embellishments are from Michael's.

When I was little, I always wanted my tires to be the same color as my bike, so that is why I colored them in the same as the bike! Fun I think!

That's it for me as I have to scoot and get my little man to see the Easter Bunny! I hope everyone is enjoying each other during this wonderful time of year!

Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge #9

Since I have been stumbling my way through blogland these last few days trying to set up my own blog and understand how it all works I have come across many blogs to find wonderful talent and inspiration out there and Kim Wilson's blog is no exception. I have always created to create for friends and family and that is my "me" time, but this could be fun and addicting! I can't wait to get through the elementary basics of blogging and understanding it all, so maybe I can take part in many more challenges if time permits.
I also apologize for my photograph another thing I need to work on is finding a good way to have my camera and cards talk to each other and agree to be photographed {grin}.
Okay, onto the card and challenge! I just loved the fun vibrant colors and inspiration Kim chose. It just sings happy to me! The inspiration photo is above! I just had to play along.
My card base is DCWV Textured card stock Robin #1 layered with Stampin Up card stock in Naturals Ivory stamped in Papertrey Ink's Orange Zest Polka Dot Basics II the edges were tea stained and rounded, my scalloped awning is Raspberry Fizz with Papertrey Ink's new Eyelet Lace Die in the DCWV Robin #1. Lastly I used Papertrey Ink's Mat Stack 1 die in the Robin#1 to stamp my sentiment from The Angel Company in the Orange Zest. I added a felt flower and Orange Zest buttons as a nice finishing touch!
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
