The Heart Blooms with Love

~Hello

This week at The Kraft Journal, we have a CAS - Embossed Challenge, and I hope you will join along. You can dry emboss as I have done here or wet emboss. We just want to see embossing some how on your projects as long as you use Kraft cardstock or products sold at The Kraft Outlet.
I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock. Using a rose embossing folder, I embossed a piece of pink cardstock and layered it to the bottom quarter of the card front.  I took a length of Pink Baker's Twine and wrapped it above the embossed layer and tied in a double bow. I stamped a rose in the middle of a die-cut circle and layered in a white doily adding to center of the card.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Vintage Sepia Ink just below the focal image.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your CAS - Embossing creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Have a great week!

Vintage Cameo with The Kraft Journal.

Hey there and Happy Monday!

At The Kraft Journal this week, we have an "Anything Goes - Vintage" challenge for you! I hope you will come and join us! I have a card that was inspired by an ad I saw several years ago for one of the paper crafting magazine. It was just a snippet of a picture of card that was in their magazine...since it was an ad to get subscribers there was no info. I am not sure who the cardmaker was since I didn't actually see it in the magazine, but I was inspired none the less since I had that same stamp.  I am always looking for inspiration on some of my bigger image stamps. Different ways to use them since they are such a focal point. The original card was a beauty.
I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cardstock. I embossed the card base with a vintage embossing folder for texture and visual interest.  I stamped the cameo image onto Buff Ivory Cardstock in Kraft Ink. I trimmed the image down adding a row of cream lace to the bottom. Next I took a length of Vintage Winter White Seam Binding and wrapped it around the focal image at the bottom and tied off in a fussy bow adding a kraft brown rose bud to the center. I used foam dimensionals to pop it up in the center of the card base finishing off with a few kraft color pearls.
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Anything Goes - Vintage creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Pick Three with The Kraft Journal

Hi!

We have one of my favorite challenges this week for you at The Kraft Journal - Pick Three.
I started with a base of Brown Kraft Coverweight cardstock. (My favorite) onto which I added two pieces of patterned paper. A doily was added to the center adding some vintage ticket embellishments from my stash. A fussy Butter Seam Binding Bow was created and further embellished with a button laced with Natural Hemp Cord.
Lastly a row of buttons laced with Natural Hemp Twine was added at the bottom adding a mint crochet flower to the middle.

Here is the Take Your Pick chart for this week. Choose any of the three items below using Kraft cardstock or items sold at The Kraft Outlet.
We hope to see your Pick Three creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be showcased in the "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher to The Kraft Outlet store.

Have a wonderful day!

My Heart is a flutter

Happy Sunday,

{Thank you for the Connoisseurs Honors at Colour Me on 3/10/15}

I don't usually post on Sunday, but with our weather and snow days I didn't get a chance to get this completed and posted...so here it is before the inspiration challenges close out.

I began by die-cutting a butterfly I created using washi tape.  I had two felt flowers on my desk from a previous make that I added to the center topping it off with a button laced with twine.   I added two more strips of coordinating washi tape onto the patterned paper before adding the doily and the washi tape butterfly.   I stamped a sentiment from Paper Smooches Giddy Bugs in the lower right corner.
I used inspiration from:

I appreciate you stoppin' by~

Fawned Wishes {The Kraft Journal #196 Critters}

Hello and Good Monday Morning to you!

We have a new challenge at The Kraft Journal this week, and I have to admit I had a hard time deciding what to create for it because it's a fun one. There were so many things I wanted to do, but I finally decided on using my Cricut to cut this adorable Fawn.

I cut the fawn using Light Kraft Cover WeightBrown Kraft Cover Weight, and Blackboard Stock Paper.  The cardstocks at The Kraft Outlet cut very well with all electronic machines. I then used Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock to create an A2 card base.  I cut a circle and a wavy circle using My Creative Time Bunch of Circle Dies out of patterned paper from my scrap stash.  I then added them to the left of the card front trimming off the excess.
Next I took a length of the dyed Butter Biased Tape leftover from this project and wrapped it around the top of the card front and tied in a bow embellishing with a flower.  Last, I stamped the Fawned Wishes sentiment from Wilson Designs in the lower right corner with Vintage Sepia Ink adding a stamped mushroom also from the same set and enamel dots for a finishing touch.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your "Critter" creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Thank you for stopping by today!

The Kraft Journal #177 Color Challenge - Smile

Hi Friends,

For today's color Challenge at The Kraft Journal, I looked at the inspiration photo and decided to start with images from The Journey Stamp Set by Precious Remembrance. What a special moment in time to be captured, so I thought of the camera in that set.
I started my card off with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock.  I layered a beautiful piece of patterned paper over the base. I took a smaller layer of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock to which I added a film strip background using Versamark Ink to give a tone on tone subtle appearance.
Next I took a piece of yellow cloud patterned paper and cut it into a banner adding it to the left side of the Brown Kraft Cover Weight piece.  I then added a Mini Gypsy Ephemera Label which I stamped the stars image in  Kraft Ink. I anchored these pieces with Old Newspaper Washi Tape. Next I added the stamped paper-pieced camera image giving it a handle with some Yellow and White Baker's Twine.  I stamped the smile sentiment on a black and white sticker label. For a final finishing touch I added  dainty pink and yellow roses.

Below is the inspiration photograph. I sure hope you will be inspired to play along with us.  We hope to see your Color creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.

Have a marvelous Monday!

The Kraft Journal #169 Pinterest Inspired

Hello!

I hope you are getting your week off to a great one. It's time for our new weekly challenge at The Kraft Journal. For today's "Pinterest Inspired" challenge, I went with some inspiring words!

Here is my card:
Here is what inspired me:
I started by stamping feathers from the Precious Remembrance stamp DIY Stamp Set in pastel colors onto a white cardstock panel with distressed edges. At the bottom, I stamped the forward moving arrows in aqua ink. I die-cut a piece of Vintage Dictionary Paper into a row of scallops randomly stamping a paint splatter in pink ink. Just above the scallop trim, I added a row of pink felt stars next wrapping Pink Baker's Twine around the card several times.

I stamped an inspirational sentiment on a white tag which I anchored with Hand Stained Lilac Lace Bias Tape dressed up with a Custom Fastener and snippets of Vintage Dictionary Paper.

After my focal panel was complete, I added it to a white cardstock base with distressed edges using foam mounting tape.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Pinterest Inspired creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

DeNami April - Inspired by

{It's my 2nd post of the day, for my Paper Sweeties Release Rewind Celebrate Your Day Click here}
{It's a bright and happy card :-)))}

It's time for our third Inspired by installment at DeNami Design today. Can you believe it?  If you are not familiar with the feature you can read about it here as well as submit your work for a chance to have it highlighted.

Today we are featuring Barb as our April Inspired by Artist. Her card was chosen and presented to the DeNami Design Team for this month's inspiration. It's easy to see why.

Below is the card I created in which I carried the feel of Barb's card, but wanted to carry out my own design.
I started by stamping the Pansy Spring on a White Panel Cardstock which I used Copic markers to add color. Following a cue, from the inspired by card, I partially stamped the Teeny Heart Background in Gray ink over the stamped images. I then covered the panel in vellum cardstock.  I stamped and embossed the Love Flourish sentiment on the vellum panel which you can see below.
I die-cut a tag from patterned paper and stamped butterflies from the Fancy Flutter Set adding a few enamel dots to the tag has Barb as done. I added a 3/4 pink grosgrain ribbon finishing off with some Twine from the Confetti Pack.
Please be sure to check out our Inspired by Card!

Stop by to see my teammates to see how they were inspired as well!

Dino-Mite

Hi!

I have a little card to share designed by my son "sort of" :-). He wanted a dinosaur card and had certain colors he had in mind. He had a certain "idea" he had in mind as well, and I sort of failed in with area. (Enter sad face). I am new to the silhouette and he wanted a palm tree, and I had one, but I never could figure out how to resize it because the one I purchased is HUGE when it's cut out. Anywho, he got the dinosaur at least. He was much bigger than I wanted. I can't figure out how to resize because all the parts have to resize together. I just didn't have the time to spend on it. So you cameo smart people want to shoot me an email go ahead! :-)))  He picked out the papers in the colors he wanted and I had to be creative trying my best to make it work (enter silly funny face) Let's just say I think I spent more time on this then I do on my shabby frilly layered cards. I'm learning girls....anywho...he loved it, so heres to hoping the friend loves it.  It's just always a bummer when you have something really cute you WANTED to do and you can't figure it out.

Ok, that was a long intro sorry....
I used various circle dies and one embossing folder to add a bit of texture to add some interest to the background. I love the tangerine graph paper that was part of this mango stack from DCWV.

Just a fun little card that hopefully made you smile on this Thursday! I thought I would share at Creative Cutting Challenges - Anything Goes, Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons- Just For Kids (PPPR File), Pause Dream Enjoy - Twine It Up, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Just Be Creative - March Linky Party, Sunday {Fun}day - March Linky PartyD.L. Art - March Linky Challenge

The Kraft Journal #161 - Birds

Happy first Monday of a New Month (Already)!

For this week's "birds" challenge, at The Kraft Journal, I started with a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock next adding two different patterned papers (from my scraps basket) to the card base. I added a snippet of a doily to the right side of the card next wrapping a length of Mint Green Tea Seam Binding around the card front and tied in a pretty bow embellishing with a button laced with Natural Hemp Cord.

At the upper left corner, I used a portion of a Tim Holtz Journaling Ticket along with some mini clips (Also Tim Holtz) and a button. I added a few melon dew drops to the ticket for further embellishing. Next I added a bird die-cut image from K & Company which I am pretty sure I have had since the earth was created! :-)))  Lastly, the sentiment  from Papertrey Ink Mega Mixed Messages to the lower left corner.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your "birds" creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Here is what I have created:

I used DeNami Deisgn:

Smitten!

Hello!

I have a fun little post to share just because....
I started with a white card base onto which I layered patterned papers from Authentique Paper Collection Blissful. I die-cut a Scallop Tag from Paper Smooches which I dressed up a bit and stamped a sentiment on it from Paper Smooches Good Gab.  The sweet bees are from Paper Smooches Bee Mine. After I created my tag, I placed a partial doily to the card front before I put my tag in place.

I added a fussy bow at the top of the tag and embellished with a smoky gray rhinestone gem. Three yellow enamel dots were added to the upper left corner of the gray patterned paper.  A die-cut heart border from Paper Smooches was added for an additional decorative touch. Lastly I took a length of Yellow Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a bow.

That's it for me today! Inspiration for this card was found at Paper Smooches Sparks Picture Perfect Challenge.
I am also sharing at Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Ribbon Carousel - Love, Birthdays, and Chicken Soup, Just B Creative - January Linky Party.

Have a GREAT day!
