April Cupcake Craftroom - Summer Blooms

Hi!

{This is post 2 of 3 today...for my Paper Sweeties Sketch challenge scroll down}

After a few months off, The Cupcake Craftroom is back with a new Month long Challenge, Summer Blooms.  As I created this card, we were having a snowday! I am ready for warmer weather, fun bright colors, and pretty flowers.

Here is what I have for you today using the new collection at Cupcake Cards and Crafts and can be found here.  This is just a sample of what is included in the paper collection. Be sure to check it out because you get 31 Design Papers and 7 Solid Papers.
I started with a white card base onto which I added my pieced papers of the Solid Orange Juice which has been embossed and sanded and goes perfectly with the  Sanded Flowers Mix Up (in Cherry) both from the Summer Blooms collection.

Two Pennant banners were cut and pieced in the middle and added to the center of my card. I used the Faded Dots (in Cherry) and Solid Orange Juice. I added a white doily to the center and die-cut a scallop oval from  Solid Orange Juice.  When I saw the papers, I thought of the Garden Bouquet stamp from DeNami Designs.  I added a sweet little sentiment to the right of the focal image. You're Sweet can also be found at DeNami Designs and it's from the Love Sentiment Petit Fours collection

I hope you will join in the fun with us at The Cupcake Craftroom and be sure to check out the new line Summer Blooms

I will be back in a few hours with The Kraft Journal post!

December Cupcake Craftroom - Anything Goes at Christmas

Welcome to December's Cupcake Crafroom monthly challenge! With the busy Holiday's approaching we thought we would make the challenge stress free with a theme of Anything Goes at Christmas.  Mandy's new paper line Boutique Christmas is so fun and comes with a sentiment sampler.

Here is what I have for you using some of the papers from the new line.

I enjoyed using all the fun papers in this line.  You can check it out here. The sentiment is one of 6 that comes on a sheet. The whimsical Christmas tree comes from Hero Arts Snowman set. For a bit of fun and flair, I added some stickles to some of the stars.

A length of white seam binding was added to the middle and tied into a fussy bow embellished with a button and some jingle bells.

Beautifully coordinated papers makes designing a cinch.

I hope you will play along with us at The Cupcake Craftroom and be sure to check out this fun new line called Boutique Christmas.

We look forward to seeing what you create! You have all month to link up your projects.
Thanks for visiting me today!

October Cupcake Craftroom - Anything Goes in Autumn

Hello!

Welcome to the October Cupcake Craftroom Montly Challenge! This month our challenge is Anything Goes in Autumn! How fun is that. I am featuring the new collection from the Craftoom this month. They feature beautiful berries, and are very autumnal in color. Mandy has even thrown some pink in there too for a contemporary feel.

Here is what I have to offer this month for the challenge.
Starting with a brown card base, I pieced together Winterberry and Solid Orange. I added a doily and a gold ribbon to the center.

The darling image is from Paper Sweeties called Emma which is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and colored using colored pencils and mineral spirits. She was dressed using an outfit from You Are Fabulous using papers from the new Winterberry collection. For a fun touch, her hat has been tipped to the side. I created a tag using Stitched Swirls, next using winterberry swirls a more modern pattern, I created a smaller tag to layer on top giving Emma a place to take center stage. A row of pumpkins stamped on the brown stitched swirls paper in the collection was fussy cut then added to the tag which was embellished with some buttons for a finishing touch.

A fun, cute, yet modern modern card to inspire you to join in the monthly Cupcake Craftroom challenge this month! Again, all these papers mentioned come in the Winterberry Collection now available in the Cupcake Craftroom.

September Cupcake Craftoom - Pretty Pastels

Hi!

Welcome to the September Cupcake Craftroom monthly challenge! This month's challenge is Pretty Pastels. I have used some new papers in the Cupcake Cards and Crafts store.

Here is what I have to share with you using a sample of this collection.
I started by creating a card base using the Pastel Blossom sheet as my card base. I then took the Lemonade Polka dot patterned paper and cut a negative in the center using a scalloped nestie.
As you can see from this close up, I  had some fun with twine and I used that in the background for my darling little dinosaur from Paper Smooches which was paper pieced using the Pastel Chevrons print. I added some buttons, and I created a sentiment banner also from Paper Smooches using Light Pistachio.
You have all month to show us your work using pretty pastels. We hope you will link up and play along with us. We can't wait to see what you create!

Joining in at  Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

I hope your September is off to a fine start! This month is super packed with activities! I am not sure I have switched off of Summer mode yet!
Big Hugs,

Thinking of you always

Hi!

Over the summer, my blog has been rather quiet. Good ol' summertime has not left a lot of time for free "play" time. I have to say we have been quite glued to the TV at night between baseball and now the olympics.  Not to mention, we have been ducking in and out of town on short vacation stints. The travel will come to a halt as I roll back into my role as a single mother with a husband away on an assignment for a couple of months. This also proves to be challenging because I have no back-up to let me have a little bit of design time. My short stack loves to play baseball in the front yard and with Daddy gone I am on my own being the entertainment committee! :-)))

Why am I babbling all this, to explain why it's been hard for me to post and stop by to visit your lovely works of art this summer. I do appreciate each and every one of you and I hope you continue to stick around till things roll back into normalcy in a few months.

Having said all that, I snagged some crafty time during nap yesterday. I needed to do house chores, but I think for my sanity I needed to craft something!

So here is a share for today.
I totally dug into my stash of scraps! Yay! I love that!  All papers are from Cupcake Cards & Crafts. Even though these papers are from previous makes, I love that I have these on file to print out whenever I need. If you love that too, please head over to Cupcake Cards & Crafts and check out what can be delivered right to your inbox to download.
For my focal point, I made a ribbon loop focal embellishment dressing up with buttons.  A ribbon flower was created to add to the center of my doily.
I finished my card by stamping a lovely sentiment from Hero Arts - All Occasion Messages.

I found inspiration for my card at The Ribbon Reel - Button It! A Blog Named Hero - Freestyle, Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge. - Scraps

Thank you so much for stopping by! I appreciate each of you so much!

August Cupcake Craftroom - Fresh and Summery

Hi!

Welcome to August Cupcake Craftroom monthly challenge! This month's challenge is lilac and lime. I have used some new papers from Cupcake Cards & Crafts called Lilac and Lime Spring.
I started with a Lemonade card base. I layered with a white embossed panel adding a fun decorative panel strip called buds to the bottom. The Midi polka-dot paper was handcut into a banner and added to the left portion of the card front. Stitched Stripes was used as a focal base for my fun layered ice cream cone which was paper pieced using curly brackets and Lilac polka-dots

Finishing touches include a sentiment stamped on Lemonade paper and some fun twine which I wrapped in a wonkly manner around my panel and tied in a bow.

Beautifully coordinated papers makes designing a cinch.

I hope you will play along with us at The Cupcake Craftroom and be sure to check out this fun new line called Lilac and Lime

We look forward to seeing what you create!

Big Hugs...

Hi!  How are you all doing?  I am still trying to climb out of a big ol pile of catch up! We are enjoying the lazy days of summer, however not so lazy on our end. So having said that, I apologize once again for not getting around to your lovely crafty blogs!

The Cupcake Craftroom is sponsoring Tuesday Morning Sketches this week, and the Design Team was asked to play along.

Here is my card using papers from the Flourish Collection.  I always like to be slightly "different". *wink*
I made a tall card as my take on the sketch! Ever so often, I will pull myself out of the routine of making a standard A2 size card.  I started with a kraft card base adding some white paint for a shabby touch.

Using some material I had on hand, I created a flower embellishment adding a button and blue rose to the center.

I took a Library card pocket and covered it with the solid light blue papers from Cupcake Craftroom adding a rectangle of the polka Pastel Blue to the center distressing all the edges.  I paper pieced a pitcher using the Flourish paper in pink embellishing with a button and pearl. Some Crochet Trim was added to the bottom of the focal image on the library pocket for a finishing touch.
Inside the pocket, I have created a sentiment tag with Flourish papers.
I love this Flourish line! It is so pretty and fits my style! All of the papers you see here come in one collection and you get more paper patterns and colors than I have displayed. I believe there is over 60 papers in this collection. You can print them out as much and as often as you like! Love that!
Here is the Tuesday Morning Sketch.
I am also joining in at Dynamic Duos.
Well that is it for me. Hope you join along the fun if you have a chance.
Have a terrific Tuesday!

July Cupcake Craftroom Layers Challenge

Hello There!
Welcome to July's Cupcake Craftroom monthly challenge!  This month's Challenge is
layers. We want to see you pile it on.
Layers can be matting and layering, 'piling it on', adding elements and image toppers, building up different papers, layers of a border...the possibilities are endless.
I have used some new papers that are now
available in the Cupcake Cards & Crafts store called Flourish.
It's an elegant paper line, and I love it!!!
I started with a white card base and pieced together the patterned paper from the Flourish line.
I added two scalloped borders in the sage green damask print to offset the blue a bit.
A doily was applied to the center of the card front. A banner was hand-cut and layered on top of the doily. A large scallop oval was die-cut to mat the solid blue oval (also included in this collection) and stamped Happy Anniversary to the center.
Final touches include embellishing with pearls,
satin angel wings, paper roses and a multi-loop bow.
Again, please visit Cupcake Cards and Crafts to check out this new
gorgeous line of papers called Flourish.

I hope you will join in the fun with us this month at The Cupcake Craftoom .

We look forward to seeing what you create with this layers challenge.

Thanks for visiting me today!

Happy Graduation Day!

Hi!

I am running on fumes trying to finish up some cards that need to go out in the mail. We are running full speed with outdoor time summer activities plus the regular scheduled activities that keep this taxi driver Mom busy! Less and less crafty time...and less and less blogging time. I expect my posts will be rather short

We received another graduation announcement, so off to the craftroom I go.  I saw the colors this week on the Colourq blog and really liked them, so I used that as my jump start source of inspiration.
On the left portion of the card front, I stamped my own patterned paper using PTI: Rosie Posie. The right side is using some fabulous patterned paper from Cupcake Cards and Gifts called Last Summer.    The sentiment die was created using Happy Day Stamp Set. Buttons and twine are added for a finishing touch!

Here is the Colourq Colors where I found my color inspiration.
Sorry to keep this so short! I expect that's how most my post will be for awhile.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Soak Up the Sun

Hi Friends!

I have another Clean and Simple card to share today! It's another fantastic challenge at Inspired By Stamping and this week Joanna has a sketch for you to try.

Here is my card! :-)))
Here is the Sketch:
IBSIC-#12

I totally went away from my norm. Instead of reaching for my very loved seam binding or crochet trim, I decided to find inspiration in my overflowing ribbon jars.  I used this ribbon a lot when I lived in Hawaii so I thought why not bring it out again, so that was the start to my inspiration.  My papers are from Cupcake Cards and Crafts and is part of a collection called "Last Summer".  My stamped images are from Inspired By Stamping: Inspiring Sentiments which is nested inside Fancy Labels 3

The sun was cut using my Cricut, and buttons, pearls, and a flower were the final finishing touches.

I hope you will join us this week! I love love seeing your wonderful creations in the IBSIC gallery.

I see Papercraft Star is having a Here Comes Summer Challenge, so I will join in over there!

Thanks for peeking!

May Cupcake Craftroom Summer Theme Challenge

Hey there!

Welcome to May's Cupcake Craftroom Monthly Challenge!  With Summer approaching and Mandy's new paper line at Cupcake Cards we thought we would jump start your summer mojo with a little inspiration photo and Summer Theme!

Here is the card I created using papers all from the new line called Last Summer. This line is so fun and colorful!
Here is the yummy inspiration photo.
Please use a summer theme and colors in the photograph.
I started this card by piecing together my fun picnic patterned paper to my solid Whisper White pre-cut piece. I die cut a row of stars from the solid yellows in the collection and adding it where the two papers meet for a fun decorative detail. I stamped the popsicle from Wilson Designs Sweet Celebrations using the pink quatrefoil paper adding to the left card face using foam mounting squares for dimension.
To coordinate with these darling papers, a Lemonade Glass from Wilson Designs Strawberry Lemonade was stamped in the upper right of the card front and colored with copics to match the paper. A sentiment from the same set was stamped over the glass in a bright fun summery pink. For a finishing touch, a little bright pink bling was added to the straw as well as by the sentiment along with a button and polka dotted ribbon tab.

I hope you will join in the fun with us this month at The Cupcake Craftoom and check out the wonderful paper collection perfect for this challenge. You get 31 papers total ready to print and to use as often as you like. 8 wonderful summery colors perfect for summer birthday parties and celebrations!

We are looking forward to seeing what you create with this wonderful photo to jump start your summer projects!

Thanks for visiting me today!

April Cupcake Craftroom Challenge Birds and Bugs

Is it really April 1st already??? Did we not just bring the New Year in or at least it feels that way! You can expect to read the same thing here again in June when we will be halfway through the year! So, are you pulling any April Fools jokes on anyone today???

Well, this is my first post as the new Designer for the Cupcake Craftroom. With Spring in the air, Mandy wants to see creations with a spring feel that incorporates anything that buzzes or flies basically it has to have "wings".

I have a card and matching tag to share with you today featuring new papers called Dragonflies from the Cupcake Craftroom.  The coordinating solid can also be found in the store.
I started the card by stamping the polka-dot background in pink onto white cardstock. After cutting horizontal strips of the dragonfly papers called Hot Chocolate as well as the complimenting solid to match I distressed the edges to compliment the distressed images of the dragonflies. All horizontal pieces were added to my pink card base. A matching pink ric rac border was added to the upper third of the card. Next a piece of white fringe was added horizontally near the top edge of the card front.

A tag on the card was created using a recycled cereal box. It was embossed painted, distressed, and stamped with a sentiment from Practicing Creativity Look Up set. A ticket was applied to the upper right of the tag and a few buttons were added. A dragonfly was cut using my Gypsy Wondering also with a cereal box and painted poodle pink and dressed up with a pearl and some microflakes glitter.  A crochet embellie was applied to the tag for the dragonfly to rest on.  To complete the look of the tag, A fussy seam binding bow was created finished off with some buttons and twine.
One last finishing touch for this card, which involves more recycled embellishments is the punched heart in the lower right corner. It was punched from that same cereal box embossed in my Big Shot and painted Poodle pink to match the dragonfly.  A button in the center completes this look.
A coordinating gift tag was created using the same coordinating papers. This would be a perfect set for a girl graduating High School or College. A nice card with matching tag for the package or gift bag.

I'll be entering this into the Moxie Fab World: Don't Throw It Away Challenge as several recycled embellies were created using recycled cereal boxes.

Don't forget to enter the month long challenge over at The Cupcake Craftroom! We can't wait to see what you create all about Bugs and Birds!

Thanks for visiting me for my first Design Team Post for the Cupcake Craftroom! I hope you like what I have created for you today and have been  inspired to play along!

Hello Friend

Hello!

**Woohoo Moment This card was a winner at Inspired By Stamping 3/28/12**

I hope your Tuesday is starting off Terrific!

I started this card by adhering an aqua, polka-dotted, patterned paper along with a soft pink layer trimmed with pinking shears to a piece of Kraft cardstock. I then added a strip of turquoise Damask paper from the Cupcake Craftroom to the right side of my card face. A row of raspberry felt hearts were die cut.  A section was applied to the top center of my card adding some beautiful pearls. A heart doily was inked in tumbled glass and adhered to the card front.
I wrapped some raspberry twine around the card face just above the lace trim and scalloped die cut that has been given a touch of paint. A Wilson Designs "Hello Friend" sentiment tag was applied to my bow and finished and dressed up with a raspberry flower button!

A burlap cutout was adhered to the center of the card and garnished with various diecut felt flower embellishments!

My Inspiration for this card came from:

Inspired by Stamping: Flowers
Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge: All snippets

Thank you so much for stopping by!
I hope your day is filled with sunshine!
