Fishing you a Happy Birthday

When I saw the latest Designer Challenge at My Creative Time, I knew I had to play along because I never have enough masculine cards.

I started with a Buff Ivory card base onto which I added a fishy patterned paper from my stash. I used the new My Creative Time - Lost At Sea and Stipey Background which was stamped on Brown Kraft cardstock.  I added a length of Natural Burlap ribbon where the patterned paper and the stamped background pieces meet.

The port hole is created with the dies that come with the Lost At Sea set.  I am actually happy with how this turned out.

I am going to also share at:
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes
Catered Crop - Manley Men
Darnell's NBUS challenge - The stamps and dies are all new.  Thanks Darnell…I've really had fun breaking out new schtuff! :-)
Thanks for stopping by today!

The Ribbon Reel #49...Spring Cottage...

Hello~

Welcome to another challenge at The Ribbon Reel! I am actually the host and I would like to see you create a card or project using the inspiration photo below, using the colors PINK, YELLOW, AND AQUA, plus ribbon and flowers

Supplies from The Ribbon Reel

I don't know about you, but I am ready for spring and warmer temps. We have had a mild winter in my parts, but this girl runs on solar power! This card is inspired by all the new things Spring can bring!

I started by piecing my patterned paper to my yellow embossed cardstock and adding to my card base.  I then added the beautiful trims.  I stamped and heat embossed a bicycle image from Hero Arts.

Taking inspiration from the photo, I draped down my beautiful Cherry Blossom blooms on the line and added some encouraging sentiments from Paper Sweeties from the Mahalo and You Make Me Smile sets.

Here is your inspiration photo! I feel in love with it as soon as I saw it! I knew instantly I wanted to use this when it was my turn to host!

Working on some Thank You notes....

Hi!

**Thrilled this was given the Honorable Mention Cup of Tea at The Shabby Tea Room on 12/17/12**

I started off with good intentions of getting ahead of the game to create some thank you notes for after Christmas. I am finding it hard to steal some crafty time, blog hopping time, and even time to get some holiday shopping done. My days have been filled lately with non-holiday busyness (boo), but at last, I snuck a quick card in today.

I started with a rustic cream card base and inked the edges .  I have used some various goodies on my card. I die-cut a poinsettia out of some fun pink, polka-dot patterned paper that was in my scrap box left over from another make, and I inked the edges as well as added some snowflake glitter.  As I layered the pieces I added a remnant of a crochet trim piece on my desk and topped with a button and twine.
From a previous make, I had leftover pieces of book print that had been cut using a pennant die and I added those to the top of my card adding various size pearls to the top.
Patterned paper was added to the bottom of the card front and a length of silver snowflake trim from Mayarts was added across.  A tag was created inking the edges and a wreath was stamped in aqua adding pink berries. A fussy seam binding bow was created and embellished with a button. A finishing touch was to add my entiment from Paper Sweeties - You Make Me Smile

Inspiration for me card was found at the current Shabby Tea Room Inspiration Challenge.
Make a project inspired by the colors of PINK, AQUA & SILVER and INCLUDE GLITTER!

Well, I hope everyone is doing well! Have you got your shopping done?  I have NEVER been this far behind. I actually have no desire to get out in the mess. I am putting it off.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Silver and Gold Recipe Swap with Catered Crop

Hello!

*Yay! This card was selected as a Top 3 Winner at The Shabby Tea Room...Thank You Ladies*

How is your week starting off? My fellow American bloggy friends, I hope you are recovering from the Thanksgiving weekend. We are trying to play catch up after spending the weekend away. It was nice to get away, but all that catch-up work after is no fun especially with the holidays approaching and the house is array with tubs and totes everywhere.

I had the distinct honor of having my shabby xoxo card chosen as one of the Winning Recipe cards at the Catered Crop, so I was asked if I would create a card in this weeks Quickfire recipe swap.
So here is my quickfire card using Silver and Gold! :-)
I stepped outside my norm and created a 5x5 card base using Rustic Cream. I layered a textured white cardstock by DCWV which has been embossed with a damask pattern.
I am trying to get a jump on making some Christmas Thank You cards to have ready for after the Holidays....so, this will be the first of many in the days ahead I am sure.  The So Sweet of You sentiment is from Paper Sweeties You make Me Smile

The glitzed and glammed die-cut tree was actually ready to go just waiting to be used on a project. I had cut this last year and never got around to using it and thought it was perfect for this challenge. Another reason to NEVER EVER TOSS anything out. :-) The only addition I added was some chunky snowflakes to the edges.

The gold and silver ribbons are from MayArts.

Further inspiration for this card was found at:

Stampin' For Pleasure - Final Rudolph Day
Thanks so much for sharing a little bit of your day with me. I know this is a busy time of year! It means the world to me!
Hugs and blessings!

A little Shabby xoxo

Hi there!

(Woohoo, I am excited and honored that this card was chosen as the Winning Recipe card at The Catered Crop on 11/25/12)

I decided to take a little break from holiday creations and create something shabby!
Started with a card base of Rustic Cream cardstock and placed my patterned paper on top.  I layered the center of the card with a tag I cut from a vintage rose image I had in my stash, a digital image from The House Across the Bay Etsy shop, and circular heart border die layered with a pretty pink patterned paper and a dainty teacup embellished with a beautiful paper rose.
Two little pennant flag banners are tucked in behind the tag.  A length of crochet trim was added to the top of the card.

A shabby bow was created with some vintage seam binding trim embellished with a vintage button and a cute little tag with a sentiment from Paper Sweeties - You Make Me Smile.
A final touch was adding a little butterfly which I have punched from Rustic Cream cardstock which has been embossed and embellished with a sweet rose.

I am joining in the fun at Catered Crop - Rustic and Lace and Paper Playtime - Anything Goes

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my card! I hope you have a great Tuesday!
Blessings!

Recycle It with a Pop of Green

Hello!

**Excited to note that this card was chosen at Little Red Wagon as one of the Featured Upcycle Projects on 8/28/12 Thank you ladies I am Honored and also made Honorable Mention Cup of Tea at The Shabby Tea Room on 9/2/12**

I have a quick share with you today that is all about recycling! Everything on this card was created from my scrap stash including the card base. There are also some repurposed elements as well.
I started with an embossed background leftover from another make. I used the letterpress technique to add the pop of green to the embossed impression. I took the embossed pattern and distressed the edges and curled some corners to give it a worn look. I had a scrap of floral patterned paper laying on my desk and it was the perfect size to add to the center of my card. A length of lace trim and white pom pom's were added to the top and bottom of the floral patterned paper followed by some green baker's twine which was wrapped horizontally around the card front, tied off in a bow and embellished with a pearl.
As I was cleaning out my closet I realized I had an empty box from my flat iron. (Don't ask me why I had this in my closet still???) As I was headed to the recycle bin, I had an idea to use the corrugated piece on a project. I cut a piece to use and I die-cut a heart and painted it white sanding it up a bit for a worn look. Inspired by Deb Hickman, I used a dress pattern to make my floral focal point. I added a square brad through the layers and glued a fabric button to the top of the brad to dress up the flower.  I die-cut some leaves and added the dress pattern flower to the corrugated heart to complete my focal image.
Finishing touches include two heart stick pins, and a ticket which was stamped creating a sentiment from Inspired by Stamping Little Phrases II.

A shabby altered block and cards

Hello Sweet friends!

This card uses three sentiments included in a delightful little set called Little Flowers. I stamped the flower image twice and fussy cut and distressed the edges before applying to my pieced patterned paper card base. I just love the pop of turquoise against the softer colors.
The script of the font is just so beautiful and elegant! **love**

Up next is a card created using images from Vintage Postcards.
This set is just full of fun vintage images which makes my heart sing! The little pocket created is made from felt to host the flowers.
All edges have been distressed for that shabby vintage feel!
Here is the back of the card stamped with Made with Love.

Last but not least is a little home decor piece using an Eiffel Tower image.

I took an unfinished decorative block sanded and gave a good coat of paint. Next, I went back over it with my sander to rough it up for a distressed look.
I took several die-cut flowers and stamped them with a fleur de lis image. I distressed all the edges and layered into a beautiful bloom.
Here is a close up of the bloom.

Below is a view of the top of the block. You can see a little more of the decorative detail.
Thanks so much for sharing a bit of your day with me. I'll be back tomorrow with another post. I hope you have enjoyed todays projects.

**I am personally entering my decorative block into the Catered Crop Challenge Letter B - B is for Block or Bloom!
Have a stamping good day!
~Tammy~
