Nautical Wreath

There is something so simple and yet fun about this nautical inspired wreath at The Ribbon Retreat by It's So Very Cheri!   It's just a bunch of twill ribbon, but I love it!   Makes me want to go sailing!

Fabulous Party Highlights!

I'm taking a few minutes of my vacation to look at the party links and WOW!!! Here are a few that stood out to me. I will have a few more to show tomorrow!

Is it me or is there something totally stunning about these tree stumps painted white and used a coffee table? Thrifty and Chic pulled off this crazy tree stump tables in her entirely too gorgeous house! I wish I could pull off her style!

There are some drop-dead fabulous paper napkins out there to buy! A Mom Not a Professional or a Perfectionist turned some paper napkins into decor balls! I need some of these!

Breakfast For Dinner took two iron garden/planter baskets and turned them into a gorgeous light fixture. It looks like a million bucks (even though it cost her nothing!)

There is something beautiful about silver! I'm loving these Pottery Barn inspired silver seashells in the bathroom at from Gardners to Bergers. Pretty!

In Too Deep turned some Ikea spice racks into these awesome book shelves. What an easy and functional transformation! Hurry and run to Ikea OR look at the spice racks around you to see if they would work!

Completely Coastal

My name is Maya and I am the author of
a shopping and inspiration blog for people who love the sea.

I have spotted a number of cool coastal theme craft projects floating around here, and that's (among many other things) what I feature on
Completely Coastal...

driftwood crafts handcrafted wood buoys
shell candle holder how to make shell garland

... weekly Craft Projects for all your sea treasures and more! Ideas with shells, starfish, driftwood, seaglass, rocks and pebbles, even your photo memories, as well as projects with wood, fabric and other materials. I'm in awe of all the creativity out there and added a few links below to some of the most popular projects; and as you can see above (click images), I have been inspired to craft a few things myself.

Pottery Barn Knock Off's

Decorating Pots with Shells

Vintage Glass Bottles Topped with Sea Shells

Handcrafted Home Decor with Driftwood

Wire Wrap Beach Sea Glass

Wire Picture Holders that Rock

Thanks again Michelle -and I hope to see some of you on Completely Coastal!

Crazy for The Beach

I'm digging the inspiration from the BEACH Categorically Crafting Show last Friday. Check out some of the beautiful links I love!
I want to find a cubby like this one at Honey and Maple Syrup. It's so calm, peaceful and coastal. Read more about this PB knock-off cubby beachy organizer.

After gathering rocks on a vacation, make this beautiful souvenir rock heart. See how Just Lu made it! Such a fun project!

Somedays I want a room with beachy decor in my home! The bathroom seems the most likely spot. I LOVE this beachy bathroom by Madigan Made. Check out the details HERE!!!! (Unfortunately, the tile in both of our bathrooms at this time is like terra cotta/spanish tiles!)

Or this beachy bedroom! I could fall asleep in this serene room very quickly. See the details of this beach bedroom at Thrifty Parsonage Living.

Driftwood boats are awesome! They look great on a shelf or mantle. See this one at Holy Craft. See a different one at The Country Chic Cottage.

Check out more beach ideas HERE.
Don't forget! Tomorrow's category is LAMPS! Link up your lamps, shades or other tomorrow morning!

Let's Go To The Beach

Welcome to the BEACH Categorically Crafting Show where you can show off the projects, ideas, traditions and tips you use for going to beach or decorating beachy style. Dig through your archives or link a recent post. Share your school your idea of beach with us. Here are a few that I've found floating out there!

Paint some bottles to make your mantle look like the beach. This display of painted bottles is by The Life of a Future Domestic Goddess!

Framing sand dollar, star fish or shells is so beautiful, simple and easy. This beauty sand dollar shadowbox was found at Cottage and Vine.

Turn your towels into soft, beachy wear. One ides is this darling towel kimono with The Project Corner.
You can finally let you kids eat dirt with this recipe from Park Avenue! Sounds yummy!

Adding seashells to just about anything brings the beach into the home. Why not add it to a welcome sign? Suzy's Artsy Craftsy Sitcom made this beachy welcome sign.

Take this quillow to the beach. Not only is it a blanket to sit on, but also a backpack for transporting beach items! Head over to Subtle Tee to see how to make the Beach Quillow.

Check out this BEACH PARTY at A Soft Place To Land. It has over 100 ideas!
Also, if you need more ideas, click over to my archives. See the Beach, beach towel, and bath towel categories!
Please join your crafty post if, and only if, it corresponds with the category and theme of BACK 2 SCHOOL. (If it doesn't fit in this category, please link it up to Whatever Goes Wednesday.) Link up crafts, decor, sewing projects, food, tips, etc, that has to do with BEACH. If you have joined a BEACH project to a party on my blog before, feel free to add it to this show too! If you have a lot of mirror projects, please choose your favorites. (Please no more than 4 posts per blog). Link to the specific posts, not to your main blog page.

Let's see what you have created (either recently or in the past)!

You can paste the "Categorically Crafting" button onto your blog post. I would love to see these floating around so more people can post their themed projects. I will leave this linky post open until next CC Show. Keep checking back for more ideas!!!
The next 3 Categorically Crafting Shows are as follows:
August 27 - Lamps
September 3 - Toy Rooms

September 10 - Boys
(If you haven't gone back to see last week's Back 2 School show, you must see the rest of the ideas linked up throughout the week. They rock! See them HERE.)

OOPS! Party Back Open!

If you haven't noticed, I have been "missing" from the blog a bit this past week. I am on a vacation (I check in for a few minutes each day). Kim, at 733-A Creative Blog, has been helping out this week! When I created this party last Saturday and scheduled it to post today, I made a mistake in the time the party closed. I just opened it again and it will be open for a few more days. SORRY to those of you who came to add a link and got rejected! Come back, add your link and browse around at others!
And while I am on the computer, I loved these hooded beach towel backpacks. You will have to go HERE to see exactly what I mean. Great creation by The Train To Crazy.

Towel Wraps

My nieces had a towel wrap like this one for the beach last year. I loved it and wanted one for my daughter. They could take it off and put it on themselves because of the velcro. This swimsuit cover is made from a beach towel. From The Hive has a tutorial for it. GO HERE for the towel wrap dress.

OR you can make this beach towel dress from MADE!!! So cute! See the tutorial HERE.
