Rustic Lace Square

I've been wanting to try the rustic lace square pattern for a while, and decided to make a blanket for my brother's wedding in June.

Since I had just finished a Flowers-in-the-snow blanket I needed a little variation and wanted to try a new pattern. And I liked that the lace squares are a little bigger. I had also made many of the inner cicrcles allready.

I finished just in time...

Hello again!

Ohh... 2018 was not good for blogging. But I'm still here.

Last year was a busy one for making blankets. 3 flew of my crochet hook in May, June and September. I did plan ahead this time, and had done some work a while before.
But I still have to make most the weeks before the ocation they are made for.

I made Flowers in the snow-blankets for two of my nieces, and a Rustic Lace Square blanket for my brother's wedding.
(I'll show you the Rustic Lace Square blanket in a different post.)

I can make the Flowers in the Snow blanket pretty much on autopilot by now, using the continuous join as you go method.
I'm still planning to make a tutorial for that, just need to take good photos - or maybe make a video...

Enjoy the photos of these two blankets and my lovely nieces.

Sunburst-pute

d25d4f50a3bb11e3909c123696e3fbe5_8

A new cushion! Sunburst pattern this time. I used CJAYG (continuos join as you go) on the front and added a few squares on the back. I will post a tutorial about how I do the CJAYG shortly, just need a few more photos.

You can find pattern for the Sunburst squares here.

Triangles – geometric pillow

This pattern was edited Aug 2015.

013

This pattern is for a 40 x 40 cm pillow
The front piece is made of 24 triangles and 6 half-triangles.
The back is a square made of dc only.
Yarn: DK / 8 ply
Hook: 4 mm
Gauge: 9 dc = 5 cm

How to make a triangle:
On the start of every row you make a dc in the same st as you start with the 3 ch. You're increasing with one st on the start of every row.
Row 1: ch 4 (counts as 1 dc), dc 1 in first ch, turn [2 dc]

005

006

Row 2: ch 3 (counts as 1dc), dc 1 in same st as the ch (where the arrow points), dc 1, turn [3 dc]

007

Row 3: ch 3 (counts as 1dc), dc 1 in first st and every st on the row [4 dc]
Row 4: ch 3 (counts as 1dc), dc 1 in first st and every st on the row [5 dc]
Row 5-12: Continue the same way, increasing 1 dc in the start of each row, until you have 13 dc. Cut the yarn, leaving 25-30 cm tail for sewing the triangles together later.

012

How to make a half-triangle:
(You wil increase in every other row).
Row 1: ch 4, dc 1 in first ch, turn [2 dc]
Row 2: ch 3, dc 1 in same st as the ch, dc 1, turn [3 dc]

008

Row 3: ch 3, dc 1 in next st, dc 1 (where the arrow points), turn [3 dc]

009

010

Row 4: ch 3, dc 1 in same st, dc 2, turn  [4 dc]
Row 5: ch 3, dc 3, turn  [4 dc]
Row 6: ch 3, dc 1 in same st, dc 3, turn  [5 dc]
Row 7: ch 3, dc 4, turn  [5 dc]
Row 8: ch 3, dc 1 in same st, dc 4, turn  [dc 6]
Row 9: ch 3, dc 5, turn  [dc 6]
Row 10: ch 3, dc 1 in same st, dc 5, turn  [dc 7]
Row 11: ch 3, dc 6, turn  [dc 7]

Row 12: ch 3, dc 1 in same st, dc 6  [dc 8]

011

Lay out the triangles in the pattern you like. Whip stitch together using the long tails.

The back is made of two pieces. One large with stripes and one smaller piece.

Row 1: Make a dc foundation row, and make 70 dc.
Row 2 – 30: ch 3, dc 69. Change colour every 5th row if you want stripes.

Row 31: Buttonhole row. Ch 1, sc 8, *ch 2, skip 1 st, sc 9* 2 times, ch 2, skip 1 st, sc 10, *ch 2, skip 1 st, sc 9*  3 times.
Row 32: sc 1, sc in every sc from last row, sc 2 in every ch 2 space.

Piece 2:
Row 1: Make 70 dc with the foundation row method.

Row 2 – 10: ch 3, dc 69.

Put the front and back together with right side out. (Don’t worry if your back piece look to small. The blocking will fix that).

The back pieces are made to overlap by 5 rows. Make sure the rows match up.

I prefer to crochet the pieces together, from the front, starting in the bottom right corner.

Sc 2 in every row, through both layers. When you come to the overlapping you will crochet through three layers.
Sc 3 in the corner st, and  sc 1 in every st on the top and bottom.
Finish with a row of crab st.

Find 6 pretty buttons from your collection and sew them in their right places.

There you have it! A new pillow for your couch or favourite chair!

Boblar

boblar

Eg har nye bobleprosjekt på heklekrokane for tida. Dette skal bli ei pute.

003

Men så fekk eg ein fiks idé, og plutseleg vart det fleire, mindre boblesaker.

001

Og kva brukar vi så desse til? Mobilen, så klart…

004

002

Desse to er prøvemodellar. No har eg funne ut korleis eg skal gjere det, så då skal eg nok hekle opp ei del fleire til julemesse-sesongen. Håpar berre skuldra held – har visst fått meg ei lita "idrettsskade"…

005

It's so fun to crochet bobbles. I have several new projects on the hooks now. The top photo will become a pillow.

And I've have figured out how to make phone pockets too. I will make more of them for Christmas.

Favorittfargen…

… akkurat no er denne. Lys turkis-mintgrønn. Den er noko grønnare enn på bildet her.

034

Her har ei cd-hylle og eit blomsterbord fått seg nokre strøk. Og sjølvsagt malar eg midt på stovegolvet…

036

Treng ikkje leite så mykje før eg finn fleire ting i denne fargen her hos meg.

038

Heldigvis fins fargen på garn også.

--------------

My favourite colour right now. Aqua/mint green.

I'm painting an old cd shelf and a flower table in this colour now, and I don't have to search much around the house to find more things in this colour.

I still have some paint left, so I can paint more!
