Wings are Haute Couture

Body art, aka tattoos, has made it's way into scrapbooking and fashion. Stamps by Technique Tuesday , and rub ons by Heidi Swapp feature one popular body art item, wings. Wings are not only popular in scrapbooking, but fashion too. And let me show you one fashion item that I think is "haute couture". It has a high "cool factor", and it's coming my way. This t-shirt by cloud9designstudio features angel wings screen printed on the back. My husband and I actually saw a girl with wings like this tattooed on her back, but this is as close as I'll get- I don't do needles and blood. Yeah, I'm squeamish. Anyway, check out cloud9designstudio at etsy. She has these hot items for mom and babe. And she's super nice and friendly. While I'm pointing out high fashion with a high cool factor, here's another must have on my list- this cool folded wings ring by ragtrader. Visit this shop too. There are some very cool things here.

New supplies

I went to Michael's this weekend because hubby wanted some supplies for a project he plans to do. So of course I hit the dollar bins. Here is what I got: Isn't this ribbon adorable? I also got this ribbon and I'm thinking of using it on a project, maybe a card, with my Autumn Leaves clear stamps, swirls and flourishes by rhonna farrer. I'll let you know what I come up with later.

Rockin Birthday card

I just finished making birthday cards for the neighbors' girls. They have birthdays six days apart. I'm late with one of them. I thought I would share the cards with you. The first one was inspired by a card with the same sentiment published in the March 2008 PaperCrafts Magazine. I made it my own with different colors and stickers. I printed "hope your birthday" on beige cardstock with "Da Bomb" font. (I have so many fonts - I forgot where I got this one.) I also used Making Memories handwriting stickers, a guitar and record from Karen Foster The Fifties, and a Design Lines sticker from Mrs. Grossman's . I mounted the beige piece on a 5x7 card made from pink cardstock. I think I did pretty good using my "stash" for this. The second card was designed using a sketch from splitcoaststampers.com. I used more stuff from my stash. The paper came from a lot I bought at Ebay and I have no idea what brand it is. The cute ribbon I got at Target in the d...
