How to make a simple spring arrangement

Post contains affiliate links. These do not cost you any more to click or purchase, but provide me a small income if you do.      I saw this bright green decorative watering can in the Target Dollar Spot and knew it would be a darling base for a spring arrangement. I took some supplies I had on hand and whipped up a bright cheery arrangement in a few minutes. I'm going to show you how to do this. (This is so easy, I should be embarrassed to call this a post.)   Here are the supplies you will need:   1. Container for base   2. Floral foam 3. Silk daisies or other bright faux flowers   4. (Not pictured)  cutting tools    My mom gave me a Floracraft floral foam knife for Christmas and it cuts through foam like butter, and leaves less mess. You will also need some type of wire cutter to cut the stems of your flowers if you purchase them in a bunch.     ...

WATW

So just a few words- these are from my parents' fiftieth wedding anniversary reception last weekend. More photos here . Linking up to Photography Friday .

Worth a Thousand Words

From my mother in law's garden May 2011 Hi all. In case your wondering what these posts are about, on Tuesdays I post a picture from my archives or travels and such. I don't provide very many details, hence, the saying a picture is worth a thousand words. They speak for themselves. It's just a way to share some photography and motivate me to edit all these photos!

Easy napkin ring and table decor

I wanted to freshen up the decor after Christmas and really wanted some white in my home for the new year. I previously shared my white vignette with you. Here is how I very easily freshened up the dining room table. I added some white candles and flowers. I purchased a couple of 99 cent bunches of gerbera daisies from Michael's. One bunch went into the vase. I took another bunch and clipped off the flowers from the stems. I wrapped some floral wire around the small piece of stem left on the back of the flower and formed a loop. I slid some ribbon into the loop and tied them to my napkins. Very easy napkin rings! Hope you have a great week. I'll be linking up to the parties on the side and Get Your Craft On.

Quotes

I missed posting a daily quote last month. I guess the daily blogging thing is not for me, even when all I had to do was post a quote. Anyway, I'm still doing my best to keep it going and keep it interesting. By my calculations I owe you seven quotes. So here they are. These will complete my thirty favorite quotes. The earth laughs in flowers. Ralph Waldo Emerson Time is too slow for those who wait, Too swift for those who fear, Too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice it, but for those who love, time is eternity. - Henry Van Dyke Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Ralph Waldo Emerson Happiness is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to deal with it. Unknown Everything is always okay in the end, if it's not, then it's not the end. Unknown God gave us memories, so we would have roses in December. Unknown Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. Albert Camus

Friday feature

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia An apron is an outer protective garment that covers primarily the front of the body. It may be worn for hygienic reasons as well as in order to protect clothes from wear and tear. The apron is commonly part of the uniform of several work categories, including waitresses, nurses, and domestic workers. Many homemakers also wear them. It is also worn as a decorative garment by women. Aprons are also worn in many commercial establishments to protect workers clothes from damage, mainly bib aprons, but also others such as farrier aprons. That's what wikipedia has to say about aprons, but when I think of an apron, I think of my loving, gentle, Grandmother who made her own aprons and wore them for many uses. I have a couple that she made as well and have worn them at times. One is more like a smock that pulls over the head and ties on each side. One of the aprons I plan to put in a shadow box with a poem for a keepsake. SO, why am I rambling about apro...

Want to win $5,000?

Are you a sketch artist or do you draw or create with Prismacolor pencils, markers, etc. ? Then this challenge may be for you: http://contest.prismacolor.com/ . I was doing some research for pencils and watercolors, and found this. I'm not this type of artist. I don't think stick figures would get me anywhere. I only plan to use the pencils to color something already drawn for me, but I thought I'd share in case anyone with this talent was interested. Today's quote: Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. unknown

Spring

Springtime is the land awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn. ~Quoted by Lewis Grizzard in Kathy Sue Loudermilk,I Love You Spring officially rolled in two days ago. How glorious. I began to notice the trees budding outside my window. It is so refreshing to see everything come back to life, except the weeds. And there are plenty of them here too. SO with spring comes the return of yardwork. UGHH. As I began my weeding and trimming yesterday, I took some photos just to remind myself that it is all worth it. It is fun to be out and watch the flowers return and the colors paint the landscape. One day there is nothing and then suddenly, color! My verbena is back with these bright colorful blooms. And I did nothing for them over the winter. They just magically come back. Not really, I credit all this beauty to God. His love is like that- we do nothing and yet he comes back to us again and again. Thank you Lord, that we know there is new life!
