Bags and Flowers

Just a few of the many bags I use for various projects. Abyquilt has posted a challenge to show off your bags, a girl can never have too many.....right?. Oh I just realized I'm missing a picture, well that will have to be for another post. I use my bags for carrying stitchery, notions, applique and when I go on a trip I grab one for my toiletry bag.

The brown one at the top I use a lot for carrying my stitchery projects, it just might be my favourite. Abyquilt's post has inspired me to finish a project bag sitting around for a while and start working on a new one or two.

I just had to show off these gorgeous flowers given to me by a sweet friend. Thanks Linda, these have brightened my week so much.

How many bags do you have? I know I'm missing a few from these pictures.

Happy Quilting!

Arbor Window Quilt

I've finished the top to my "no name" blocks. Thanks to Pam my quilt will now have a name "Arbor Window" wahoo. She found this name in EQ6, I think it's a perfect name. I made mine a little different than Libby's, she made 16 blocks and I did 12 blocks. She did a funky piping for the inner border. I might try her method on another quilt but on this one I did a 1" inner border. I'm not sure yet if I'll do the scalloped border. I have a "WaveEdge" ruler which I might use instead for a wavy border. I never did use this ruler for what it was intended to be used for. It has a book that can be purchased separately. Instead, I've used the wave ruler for a border on a baby quilt and it worked very well. And I didn't need to cut the binding on the bias. I've also used this ruler to mark wavy lines on my quilt for machine quilting.

Here's a close up of the quilt, I really like the background fabric. I don't know if you can see good enough but the beige is circles and dots all over. It's really nice fabric with the small check squares.

In my garden the roses are now in bloom. I have 5 roses bushes around the deck and 3 are blooming now and 2 will come in the next month.

Happy Spring

It's starting to feel like spring around here. The daffodil's are blooming and the tulip's are showing signs of opening. The sun came out long enough for the Easter parade and the kids to have fun in the park, playing games and eating hot dogs. My kids are too old for egg hunts but DH and I had a wonderful walk around the park and looking at the vintage cars that were in the parade. My dear In-laws came for dinner and we had a good time looking at their vacation pictures from Hawaii and chatting, drinking wine, eating a delicious ham and the yummy pineapple upside down cake that I made from scratch earlier in the morning. A good time was had by all.

The table runner is from a Quick McCall's magazine a few years ago. I could dig through my magazines to find the issue if needed.

Happy Stitching and Quilting.
