"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

GIVE THANKS / DHD 1 Kit 4 Ways...

Over at Design House Digital today four decorators used Deena Rutter's Woodsong to create four projects. I decided to use her kit to create  a hybrid card. After setting the card up in Photoshop Elements, I moved the pieces around so that they would all print separately. The I cut them out and built the re-built card. Not only was it fun, I also kept the file so that I can recreate it in the future!

Thanks for stopping by,

BE MERRY / DHD New Release...

Here's another layout for Deena Rutter's new release over at Design House Digital. I used her new kit Be Merry, and one of her Design 365 Layered Templates vol. 2. I really LOVE the colors of this new kit, teal and fuchsia.... SO FUN! I grabbed a couple pics of the kids Christmas pictures fro last year... they are so sweet!

Back in a bit,

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS / DHD New Release...

Here's a digi layout I made with Shannon McNab's new Rudolph Papers and one of Crystal Livesay's Grow With Love: January template over at Design House Digital. I did grab other elements out of my stash for this one. The pic is from last year when we took the kids to see Santa. Of course Maisie refused to sit on his lap, but Alex was thrilled to!

Bye for now...

DIY MINI PHOTO CANVAS / DHD Digital Scrapbooking Day Blog Hop 2012!!!

Today is really special - we're celebrating Digital Scrapbooking Day over at Design House Digital by having a blog hop! Along the way, you'll find some great inspiration, tips and tricks and also grab letters that make up a discount code so that you can get this FAB COLLAB from the DHD Designers for FREE!!! Even better is that random people downloading the kit and commenting will be in the running for some cool prizes and gift certificates AND a Silhouette Cameo!!!

If you came from DHD, you're in the right place - I'm your first stop!

I have a little fun project for you today, a DIY Mini Photo Canvas!

You'll only need a couple of things...
  • Your photo/mini layout
  • Iron-on transfer paper for dark fabric & enclosed tissue paper (I used HP)
  • Iron & ironing board
  • 6"x6" canvas (or smaller)

Print your photo/layout onto the iron-on trandfer. DO NOT reverse it like you do on the light fabric transfer paper. I made my canvas in PSE 7"x7"... so that my finished print size would hang over the edge of my canvas.

Set your iron to 'high' or 'cotton'.

Line up your canvas in the middle of your image.

Using scissors or a craft knife, cut out the corners, and trim off the excess . Cutting out the corners makes it easier to fold it over the edges to iron. And it looks neater.

Carefully peel the backing off the iron-on transfer. It's easier to start at the corners.

Place your transfer on your canvas, cover with the tissue and iron for the amount prescribed in the iron-on transfer directions. Let it cool and peel off the tissue.

Fold over the sides tightly and iron those as well.

In the photo on the right you'll see the texture of the canvas. The more firmly you press the iron down, the better. Your iron-on should adhere to the canvas so that the texture shows through. You can always cover it with the tissue paper and iron it again. Just don't scorch it!

Here's the finished project! I suppose you could Mod Podge over it, or frame it or wrap the edges with ribbon.

Here's your first letter....
Your next stop on the DHD DSD Hop is the super talented Celeste... HAVE FUN!

BTW...I based my layout today on this sketch over at Deconstructed Sketches... you're welcome to come visit us!

The kiddies in the house will love finding candy each day in these little tins!

You can find more photos and the short tutorial by visiting DHD's Blog!

There are lots of other great Fall and Halloween Hybrid (papercrafting with digital scrap kits) great projects posted over at DHD - check them out!

HEY... I WONDER... / DHD 4 Play...

This layout is for the Design House Digital 4 Play. When I picked these kits, I started with Crystal’s fun templates. I loved the sparse simplicity of them. I thought it would be neat to use washi in place of patterned papers for color, and Gen’s were just perfect! Still wanting to go simple, and let the washi shine, I picked Karla’s elements. They are a fantastic mix of doodle and chic… love the lace butterfly trim! Lastly, Robyn’s solid papers really were a perfect base for everything! I decided to feature myself in this layout, since I really connected with these kits on a personal level & I really love how this turned out!

You can find these kits here:

Have a great night...

FRESH BAKED / DHD 1 Kit 4 Ways...

Happy Friday! Here's a page I made for 1 Kit 4 Ways, using a new collab kit over at Design House Digital, called Fresh Picked 1 by Celeste Night and Fresh Picked 2 by Erica Coombs. These are such fun kits! I decided to do a page about a recipe I recently discovered! It's perfect for a Saturday morning, only takes a few ingredients and is super easy - Overnight Peaches-and-Cream French Toast. You HAVE to make it, you won't be sorry!

SCORE / ISSC #32 & TAWS Inspiration...

Whew, I am so behind on posting today... our internet went down last night, right as I was about to schedule my posts. This card is for the newest iSpy Challenge... what an awesome sketch! Very fun & very versatile - I think I'll be using it again this week! This is also posted over at The Alley Way Stamps Blog's Friday Inspiration post!

I used the set Touchdown from The Alley Way Stamps! When I saw the sketch I immediately thought of this set and these digital papers, Hayden by Robyn Meierotto.

Here's our sketch this week, be sure to check out the other ladies projects and play along!

THANKSGIVING BLESSINGS / DHD Hybrid Project...

Here's a super quick hybrid card for Thanksgiving! The paper, sentiment & "stamps" are all digital! All I added was ribbon and a button! Digital papers are awesome - you can set up a file & print from it over and over again, just like the papers.

The kits I used:
Paper - Robyn Meierotto - Hints of Fall
Sentiment - Robyn Meierotto - Thanksgiving Word Art
Stamps - Agnes Biro - Leaf Prints, Leaf Print Nr.2

Thanks for looking!
