"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

WELCOME LITTLE ONE / C4C #134 & SS #100...

My brother and his wife are having a baby in June, and her shower was today! I made this card for them, using the cute little elephant from the Alley Way Stamps' Priceless Joy!

I'm also playing along with Sentimental Sunday's 100th challenge - WOOHOO, way to go ladies! The theme is children's cards. (I had the pleasure of redesigning their site at the beginning of the year!) I'm also playing with Crazy 4 Challenges, their theme is paper piecing ~ my favorite technique!

Thanks so much for stopping by~

HANGING THE SLEEPING BASKET / ADFD #37 & C4C # 123...

Tammy has a new release today, it's so gorgeous!!! Cherry Blossom Baby is an adorable collection of cherry blossom branches, one with little birds and one with a cute little fairy and baby, which I worked with today called Hanging the Sleeping Basket. Oh it's so cute!

We started a new challenge over at the A Day For Daisies blog, too - you should play along! These are the colors of the challenge:

I also loosely based my card on this sketch by Crazy 4 Challenges.

Thanks for stopping by!

BUSY BEE / WFCo New Release...

Happy Wednesday! This image is new, called Busy Bee! It's warm and sunny outside today in Alabama, but if you're somewhere still snowed in, hopefully this little guy warms your heart a bit! I know it's hard to tell from the pic, but he even has a little glitter on his wings! The sentiment is also from the Wax Fruit Company, called Encouraging Words.

I'm excited, I just book a campground for next month for the first ever Gordon family camping trip! Jeff and I went camping A LOT before the kids were born, as a matter of fact, I went camping a month before Alex was born - lol! He's about 30 months old now & Maisie is 14 months old, so we thought this might be a great time to go! YAY! We're camping off the Gulf of Mexico, should be a blast!

I missed last month's I {heart} Sketches deadline for the Sketch for You to Try, but I decided to use it anyway since it was so darn cute! Here are a few other challenges I am participating in...

Desert Island Crafters - inspired by nature, 2 patterned papers, handcolored (my first time playing!)
Paper Playtime - anything goes
CES CHallenges - flowers & flutterbys
One Stop Craft Challenge - spring flowers
Stamp Something - flowers

Thanks so much for stopping by!

THANKS {so much} / SR #55. C4C #70, CP #98 & JAI #51...

Happy Wednesday! We have a brand new Stampin' Royalty challenge for you this morning, anything with wings! I had this piece of retired Stampin' Up! paper sitting out from another project & I decided to use the bird printed on the paper!

Lots of fun challenges for this card! The sketch is this week's Card Patterns, Crazy 4 Challenges' theme is to 'say thanks', and Just Add Ink is using monochrome.

I colored the rhinestones with a Copics. The light pink felt flower is from giantdwarf, the darker from Papertrey Ink, as well as the Beautiful Blooms III dies used. The Jewelry tag punch and matching sentiment set, Tiny Tags, is from Stampin' Up!

Have a terrific day!

HEARTfelt / FTL #122, DYSU #1, TTD #30 & C4C #69...

Months ago I ordered this beautiful felt from Papertrey Ink... and now that I've finally used it I think I need EVERY color they have - LOL!

Jeff is working overtime today, so it's just me and the kids. I made this card last night - I need to stop staying up to 1 am - lol! We had over 70 amazing entries at the colourQ this week, so I'm almost halfway finished leaving comments for everyone - WOOHOO!!! But right now, I think we'll all take a nap!

This card was for quite a few challenges...
2 - Do You Stack Up - 1st challenge (congrats ladies) - Buttons
3 - Tuesday Throwdown - embossing

See you soon!

For my card I used one of the North Pole Employees, from a set of 2 by Mo Manning. You can find these cute little guys here. The hostess with the most~ess this month is Jak, and she wanted us to "distress" away! Your next stop is Lori's blog... you're sure to be wowed by her amazing talents!

I'm also playing along with Crazy 4 Challenges with this Christmas themed card.

THANKFUL [again!] / TPE #86 & C4C #59...

Good morning! We have a brand new challenge up over at the Pink Elephant using the colors brown & orange! AND a chance to win the digital set that I used for this card, just for playing along!

Our sponsor at the Pink Elephant is Kathy Martin, the SUPER TALENTED designer of Digital Doodles! Her sets are sold exclusively through Two Peas In A Bucket and can be found here!

The fall theme also fits in with the challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges. All the papers on this card are digital by Echo Park. They are sold through Jessica Sprague exclusively. A nice thing about Kathy's Digital Doodles is that the files have a clear background! You can remove a white background from an image in Photoshop, but usually you lose some of the images line in the process. Hers being clear makes it a snap to "digitally" paper piece her images, which is what I've done here. I'll be doing a tutorial on this in the next week or so over at the Pink Elephant.

For those of you who don't have "fancy" computer programs and have been scared to try digital stamps & papers, here's a tutorial on using Word to work with digis! I have to admit, I'm usually the last person to jump on the bandwagon on new "advancements" when it comes to my art... I refused to buy a digital camera for YEARS - I couldn't bear to part with my Pentax and working in the darkroom. But honestly, I couldn't even tell you where my 'old' cameras are now! I was the same about digis - I guess I'm sentimental about the actual process of stamping. I'll never completely go digi, but it does have some advantages!
  • Digis don't take up any physical space.
  • Since there are no boxes/bags coming into the house, my hubby has no idea what I'm spending on them - lol!
  • You can use them over and over and over & never run out!
  • You can save the files you set up for a card and make it again very easily.
  • You can resize papers and stamps when they are digital.
  • You can even change the colors of digital papers - which means infinite uses!
These are just a few. But I still like rubber and acrylic and ink... I'm sure I always will.

Bye for now...
