FAMILY TRADITIONS / CCG #210 & ST GD Challenge...

Here's a quick little layout I made of my parents & grandparents and my Aunt Lucille. Every fall they go to the mountains to see the leaves changing colors. I had to hack into my mom's Walgreen's account to get this pic - LOL - since I didn't have any good fall pics of my own to use!

I used the colors from Color Combos Galore and the November Guest Design Challenge Sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.

LET'S BUILD A SAND CASTLE / ST 8.4.11, CCG #203 & DHD Technique...

Yep, another layout today - WOOHOO! With my good camera off being repaired, getting good shots of cards is murder with my little old Coolpix. I know I shouldn't be so picky, but I am! So for another week or so, please bear with me if I'm a little heavy on the digi scrapping!

I played along with 3 challenges on this one, the gorgeous colors of Color Combos Galore, the awesome Sketchy Thursday sketch and the technique challenge from Design House Digital.

Alex and Jeff worked on a sand castle when we were at the beach in April. Actually Jeff worked on erecting little towers and Alex would knock it down them down shortly after! A castle never actually got built!

BERRY PICKING / adscraps #1 & CCG #202...

WooHoo! Today is the first challenge over at digital ad{scrap}tations, a new inspiration challenge for digital scrappers! I made this layout based on the this ad:

Here are a few details:

I wanted the text to look painted on, so after I set my type, I duplicated the background paper of the wood & changed the color. Then I clipped it to the text, like a mask.

I also added a slight shadow to the stitching.

When I created the shadow for the picture, I rotated the shadow clockwise just a little, so that the corners would look a little more lifted.
