"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

YOU ARE A SPECIAL BLESSING / RS #163...

Well, it's been a long day! After posting the latest RetroSketch, we immediately jumped in the car for a little road trip to Westville, Georgia. It took about an hour and 45 minutes, but it was a lovely drive through little towns. My parent's and nephew went, too. It's an 1850's "town", with over 30 buildings to explore. There were about 4 people in period clothing today, one driving the cart and a few more in and around house performing some task. One weekend a month they have more people who work in the pottery shop, the blacksmith, and other quilting & farming. We had a wonderful day!

For this card I used some old BasicGrey paper from my stash and one of my favorite sets from My Favorite Things -  LJD Cheerful Blessings

Big hugs!

RAINBOWS / RS#128...

Playing a little catch-up, the kids were sick the end of last week and over the weekend... now they are just sniffling and sneezing and full of snot! Jeff has it, too, poor guy. We've managed to go through 2 boxes of tissues in the last 5 days.

So, here I am, finally posting my card for the newest RetroSketch challenge! I love this fun sketch, and used my FAVE set yet again, LJD Cheerful Blessings by My Favorite Things. I colored clear rhinestones for a customized little rainbow, using Copics.

Have an awesome day!

YOU MAKE ME SO HAPPY / CQC #251...

Hello! I have a new card for this week's colourQ ~ how about these fun & funky colors??? I totally love them and decided I needed to do some funky stamping to go with it! I also loved the gold in the palette's inspiration, so I threw on a few gold sequins. I used a few brush strokes from My Favorite Things' DC Abstract Art.

( The stamp set was from an add-on of Studio Calico's... it was exclusively designed for them by Avery Elle. Unfortunately it's no longer available. )

have a great day!

This week The Deconstructed Sketch is being sponsored by My Favorite Things!! MFT is offering a $25.00 gift certificate to one lucky Deconstructed Sketch participant!!

They released so many amazing birthday related images and dies this month ~ I'm in heaven! Birthday cards are ALWAYS needed around here, especially in the summertime... I think we have over 10 family birthdays in the summer! I used the Die-namics Balloon Stax and LLD Delicious Birthday stamps. I can already tell these are going to get a lot of use.

SPECIAL BLESSING / DS #159...

Hello! That means we have a brand new Deconstructed Sketch today! I love the simplicity!!! I decided instead of all paper, I would throw in some colorful washi. I also dug around my button jars and found some patterned buttons to add. I used one of my favorite sets from My Favorite Things -  LJD Cheerful Blessings. I know I use it a lot, but I love the typography and sweet messages of this set. Does anyone know of any other inspirational/religious sets that might be similar? Let me know!

A FRIEND IS A SMILE / DS #152...

Good morning! Having a good week so far? Today is Maisie's last day at her preschool, Alex's ended last week. She's so funny, some days she has wanted to go to school and others she has wanted to stay home with Alex. We're going to have a fun summer and I am so excited about not having to get up and get them ready for school for the next couple months!

We have a wonderfully fun new sketch for you today over at the Deconstructed Sketch... I super love it! I used two of my favorite sets from My Favorite Things -  DC Abstract Art and LJD Cheerful Blessings. I would love for Lisa to design 10 more sets of sentiments as beautiful as this one!

ONE OF A KIND / DS #146...

Hello! I'm late today - our internet provider gave us a new modem yesterday and Jeff didn't get it completely installed until today. Can you imagine a night without internet?!? I ended up reading an entire book - The Whole Enchilada by Dianne Mott Davidson. Pretty good! I love mysteries - mostly "cozy" mysteries. I read a lot of British works, those are by far my favorite. Anywhooooo...

For today's new Deconstructed Sketch, I used flair from Smile by My Mind's Eye. I also used DC Jumbo Abstract Art and DC Abstract Art from My Favorite Things. I also did a little bit of spot embossing with a triangle embossing folder.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY / RS #108...

Finally posting my card for RetroSketches - YAY! Jeff's family had an outside reunion yesterday at his Uncle Hoppi's "compound", so we were out and about all day. (and I am really paying for it today, allergy~wise!) Jeff's family is Dutch/Indonesian, so there was lots of different foods & I took my usual Pineapple Casserole. We had a great time! I made this card for his Aunt Renee - I won't tell you how old she turned, LOL!

The stamp set is from My Favorite Things, Lisa Johnson's Birthday Greetings.

Thanks for stopping by!
