Christmas Presents

Luckily I started these lap quilts early and finally finished the last one this week. They are for 2 friends of ours and also for my aunt. I used the tying method to quilt them so I hope they last ok.

I also I made tea towels for all the teachers and we put them together with some chocolates. I used a Cosmo fabric along the bottom.

A Little Quiet

I think things are going to be a little quiet on this blog for a while. Jeff has actually broken his heel bone. No operation and no plaster but no weight bearing for 10 weeks so needless to say I think I am going to be a little tied up on my holidays.

I've been feeling pretty down about it and haven't been doing any sewing although I had heaps to do. Hopefully I'll have some things to post about soon.

I did help Amy out at Mathildas last weekend and I got some lovely goodies from her (one that I can't show you yet)

and Sheridan bought me some fabric in Japan so it was fun to pick out my favourites.

I got these decorations from Lisa but haven't had time to make them yet.Lucy and Charlotte both had their Christmas concerts this week, Charlotte got a wonderful school report and there's only 3 days of school left, bring on the holidays.
Charlotte's class did that song from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when they are the wind up toys

Christmas

The tree went up today amid much drama. Charlotte and I popped out to go to Big W, we had just gotten there (great parking spot too) and we get a phone call from Jeff asking us to get some ice and Nurofen on the way home as he had slipped off the ladder while he was bringing Christmas decorations down from the roof space. Hopefully it is only a bad sprain but it means he has been propped up on the lounge all day, thank god the cricket's been on.

The girls were still anxious to put the tree up and decorate it and I think they did a great job.

I'm off to Mathilda's tomorrow to help Amy so make sure you say hi if you pop by.

Progress

When I was looking for photos of Lucy for my last post I was having a chuckle to myself about my sewing progress over the year so I thought I might show you some shots of my stuff over the years. I picked the closest date to Lucy's birthday (16/11)

A Crafty Package

I received a lovely little crafty package in the mail on Wednesday from Cam. I lent her something recently and when she returned it all these goodies were packed inside.

These gorgeous cards that I won during Blogtoberfest. I'm thinking I might frame some especially that snail I can just see it sitting over my sewing machine.

This fantastic pouch featuring Cam's fabric. This is probably going to be a gift as I already own one of Cam's pouches but I can't say more on here.
These felt flower brooch kits which I know my two are going to love but I am saving them for a rainy day, which could be very soon the way the Sydney weather is going.

These badges which are hidden at the moment - turn away Charlotte if you are reading this!

And these crafty bits and pieces that I can't wait to use.

Oh and there was chocolate too but that didn't make it in to the photo. It was hidden immediately and is now half gone.

A Crafty Weekend

I had a lovely weekend with a wonderful group of crafty girls last weekend, thanks Bianca, Sheridan, Belinda, Jade and Sophie.

I really felt I got a lot done this time sewing from morning until very, very late at night (not as late as this girl though).

I managed to get all but one of the tote bags for Lucy's party done.

An Oliver and S Ice Cream Top completed and I was so much happier with it this time as I had Sophie there giving me some tips. Unfortunately I made an 8 for Charlotte but she really needs a 10, I forgot I thought it ran a little small when I made Lucy's up. So I think I might give it to her friend Sophie and see if it fits her.

I also bound this lap quilt which is going to be a Christmas gift. I actually tied it when I quilted it (thanks Peta for that suggestion) and I loved doing it that way, very quick and easy)

I also made two adapted Miss Madeline dresses, as tops for Charlotte and Lucy but I forgot the elastic so they still need to be finished off.

Thanks again girls for a great weekend

I'm in Love

Check out this fabric line.

I read about it here (and this is where the pictures came from) and I am in love. I'll be first in line to buy it when it comes out. Fingers crossed the dollar stays good or maybe some gift vouchers to myself might come in handy.

Blogtoberfest - The End

Sorry I went missing there for a few days but I've been away, more on that later.

So another Blogtoberfest is over and I thought I'd end with a bang. I'm having a craft book destash so leave a comment on this post indicating which book you would like to win (you can leave a preferential order if you like). I'll keep it open until 8pm Tuesday night and draw a winner for each book then. This is open to Aussie residents only due to the weight, sorry.
