Good Morning All and a Very Happy Tuesday!
I can't believe that it's the end of the month already but that means this is the last blog using the new Couture Creations Dies and onto something new next week!!!
I think I've saved one of the best till last but I'll let you be the judges of that! Anyway, here goes....
Cut a square of Couture Creations Vintage Rose Garden paper to size and distress the edges with a pair of scissors.
Cut a strip of coordinating paper to size and distress with scissors. Glue onto the square of paper then matt and layer onto Black Foundations Card.
Cut an Oval using Spellbinders Classic Oval Large Dies from Coconut White Card. Leave the die in place and lightly distress with Antique Linen Ink.
Die cut Couture Creations Intricutz Vintage Rose Collection Garden Lamp from patterned paper.
Glue onto the oval.
Cut the same die using white card and cut off the banner at the bottom. Stamp the sentiment Breathe from the Creative Expressions A5 Art Sayings Stamps.
Glue onto the paper die.
Cut a Spellbinders Scalloped Oval from Black Card to matt.
Attach to the card with 3d foam pads.
Die cut Spellbinders Spiral Blossom 3 using paper from the pad. Roll into 3d flowers.
Use a little Shabby Shutters Distress Ink on the edges of the petals.
Glue onto the card.
Use the Spellbinders Foliage Dies to cut leaves from black card. Glue into position.
Cut the word "Smile" from one of the pieces of paper in the pad. Matt and layer onto black card.
Add to the main card with 3d foam pads to finish.
And there we have it!
I hope the instructions were clear!
Well, that's it for this week. As always, many thanks for your visit and leaving comments.
I'll be back next week with new goodies to show you and I might even leave a few hints about what I'll be demoing at Ally Pally!!!
Until next time, have a happy, crafty week!
Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday!
I'm still playing with the new Couture Creations Dies and having a ball! I love the fact that although they're very intricate, they cut beautifully and release so easily that I haven't even needed to use wax paper with them.
Anyway, on with this weeks project.
Stencil through the "Leafy" mask with Tattered Rose Distress Ink and trim to size.
Lightly distress around the edges with the same ink.
Die cut the Couture Creations Classic Vine from the Vintage Rose Collection in black Foundations card and again from Couture Creations Vintage Rose Garden 6x6 paper pad.
Glue them together off centre so that there is a shadow effect.
Stamp the sentiment from the A5 Dandelion Wishes stamp set onto Coconut White Card with Black Archival Ink.
Cut out with Spellbinders Classic Oval Large Dies.
Glue the vine into position.
Attach a length of Creative Expressions Finishing Touches 6mm Satin Ribbon to the Leafy background.
Matt and layer onto black card.
Glue onto a piece of the Couture Creations patterned paper, then matt onto black card before gluing onto the blank card.
Cut out one of the postcard images from the same papers and glue into position.
Add the oval topper with 3d foam pads.
Tie a bow from the same ribbon and attach with a glue dot.
Add 2 stick pins to finish.
And there we have it! Simple but elegant.
Everything used to make the card has come from Creative Expressions
I hope you like this weeks card...I've been working on next weeks project and it uses the last die that I was sent to work with. I'm very excited about how it's coming together!!!!
Well, that's it for this week. Many thanks for visiting and the comments.
Until next time, have a happy, crafty week!
Good Morning All and a Very Happy Tuesday!
Well, another week has flown by. Hope you all had a very happy Mothering Sunday and were spoiled rotten!
Todays card is one that I was really pleased with. I've used the Couture Creations Ornamental Lace Dies "Touch of Love" for the main focal point and everything used is from Creative Expressions.
So, let's get started.....
Emboss a piece of Coconut White Card with the A4 Rambling Blossoms Folder.
Highlight the raised areas with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink.
Matt and layer onto Black Foundations Card.
Did Cut 4 hearts using the Couture Creations Die from 2 different co-ordinating papers. I've used paper from the 6x6 Couture Creations Vintage Rose Garden Pad.
Glue onto the background with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.
Cut out a sentiment from the same paper pad. Matt and layer onto white card then attach to the centre of the hearts with 3d foam pads. Stick onto the main card.
Add dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pastel Green PVA Glue around the edges to finish. I've done mine quite randomly and different sizes.
And there's the finished card!
I hope you like it. The greens are just right for Spring and with a different sentiment it would make a gorgeous wedding card (or even with the same sentiment).
I've really enjoyed playing with these dies. They cut beautifully and with the brush tool from Spellbinders, they release really easily.
Well, that's it for this week. Many thanks for visiting and leaving comments.
So, until next time, have a happy, crafty week!
Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday!
Have you seen the blog challenge running on the Creative Expressions site, if not, pop over there and take a look. As it's Easter themed, the design team were asked to come up with an Easter card to give you some ideas so here's mine!
Stamp the chick from the A5 UMChick set of stamps with Black Archival Ink onto Coconut White Card.
Paint the chick with Sunshine Yellow and Sunset Orange Adirondack Inks.
Stamp again onto Couture Creations 6x6 paper from the Vintage Rose Garden Pad.
Cut out the egg parts and glue onto the 1st stamped image.
Cut out using the Spellbinders Classic Oval Large Dies.
Cut a matt from the paper pad with the Spellbinders Classic Oval Scalloped Dies.
Glue together.
Ink up the Daisy stamps from the A5 Bunnies set (UMBunnies) with Dandelion Archival Ink. Stamp onto a piece of white card for the background.
Cut 2 strips of co-ordinating papers from the pad and glue into position just under the daisies.
Before matting and layering onto patterned paper (spot the deliberate mistake!) mask off the bottom edge of the strip of paper and stamp the flower heads.
I've had to mask off a larger area as I matted and layered..oops!
Now matt and layer onto a piece of patterned paper!!!
Decide where the chick is going and before sticking down, stamp the sentiment from the Chick set. The sentiment is one stamp so I inked up the first word, stamped it then repeated with the 2nd word.
Glue the chick into position and add 3mm faux pearls to the flower centres and 5mm ones to the edges of the strip of paper.
And there's the finished card....I hope it's given you a few ideas for the challenge.
Everything used for this card is from Creative Expressions.
Once again, many thanks for visiting and leaving comments. They are much appreciated.
So, until next time, have a happy, crafty week!
Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday!
This is going to come as a shock, I've made a whole card without stamping or getting any ink out!!! Unheard of!!!
This weeks card for Creative Expressions has been made with some gorgeous papers I was sent to play with. They're from Couture Creations and come in a 6x6 pad called "Vintage Rose Garden ".
So let's start....
Cover a card with paper from the Couture Creations Pad leaving a small border around the edges.
Cut a strip of co-ordinating paper from the same pad and use it to make a pocket at the bottom of the card by gluing on 3 sides.
Use the Couture Creations "Touch of Love" Ornamental Lace die to cut a heart from white card.
Cut one more from patterned paper.
Glue the hearts together slightly off-setting them.
Glue into place on the card leaving the bottom of the heart free.
In the pad there are papers with postcards and stamps.
Cut out the postcards and arrange them in to pocket at the bottom of the card.
From the same piece of paper, cut out the stamps.
Glue some into position and add the rest with 3d foam pads.
Tie a bow from White Seam Binding and attach to the card.
Add some 3mm self adhesive pearls to the heart to finish.
And there's the finished card! Hope you like it.
I would like to say a big thank you for all the lovely comments last week. It really makes doing this worthwhile if I know you're getting some ideas from the blog. Glad you can follow my instructions....my husband is convinced I speak "Pam". Luckily, he's quite fluent in it!
Well, that's all for this week except to say that Creative Expressions has started a blog challenge so do pop over to their website for a look. The theme is Easter and that's what I'll be doing next week!
Until then, have a happy, crafty week!
Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday.
Today's make is with Mothering Sunday in mind. I've deliberately left Mother's Day off as sometimes we might want to send a card to someone who has been like a mother to us.
Anyway, let's get started....
Ink up the Singles "Born Free" stamp with French Ultramarine Archival. Stamp onto a piece of Coconut White card.
Cut out using the Californian Collection Basic Frames Set A Dies.
Cut a matt from Foundations Sky Blue card using the Californian Collection Decorative Frames Set B.
Matt and layer with 3d foam pads.
Dry emboss a piece of Coconut White card using the Couture Creations Large Circles Folder.
Matt and layer onto the Sky Blue Card.
Attach a strip of Pale Blue Seam Binding.
Glue the stamped image into position with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.
Stamp the sentiment using French Ultramarine Archival Ink and cut out with the Californian Collection Set A dies.
Cut out a matt using the Set B dies from Sky Blue Card.
Matt and layer with 3d foam pads.
Die cut some Petite Vinery sprays and glue into position. Glue the sentiment in place.
Tie a bow using the seam binding and glue into place.
And there's the finished card!
I'm not sure why the 2nd picture looks pink!!!
Everything used has come from Creative Expressions.
Anyway, hope you like it. Many thanks for stopping by and leaving comments.
I'll be back next week with another make using this range of stamps. Until the, have a happy, crafty week!
Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday.
This week it's the last card using the Cats and Dogs stamps..very excited about the stamps for next month though!!!
This week is all about masking again but this time it's using the same stamp for multiple images. Let's get started!
Ink up "Willow" with Black Archival and stamp onto Coconut White Card. Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder.
Stamp again onto a sticky note, cut out and cover the original stamped image.
Stamp and emboss Willow to the right and left of the 1st image.
Make sure that when you stamp the 2nd and 3rd images they are slightly higher than the 1st one.
Paint the cats with Citrus, Watermelon and Sunset Orange and Sunrise Yellow Adirondack Inks.
Matt and layer onto Black Foundations Card.
Cut a triangle of Couture Creations Damask Delight Paper and glue onto a piece of Coconut White Card.
Stamp the sentiment around the 2 plain edges and once on the cat picture.
Matt and layer onto white and black card before adding the main image to the centre.
And there's the finished card! Hope you like it...I think it's got a real "spring-like" feel to it!
Well, that's it for this week. Many thanks for stopping by and leaving comments, they are much appreciated.
I'm off to play with my new stamps ready for next weeks blog so until then, have a happy, crafty week!
Good Morning and a very Happy Tuesday and a Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that Santa brought you all the crafting goodies you wished for!
I've had a new batch of Singles stamps from Creative Expressions to play with over Christmas (it felt like an extra pressie!)
So without further ado, here's my first DT piece using them. I've used "Pickle" for this one as well as the "Paws-Itively Great" sentiment stamps and the "Paw print Lattice" Background stamp.
Ink up Pickle with Black Archival Ink and stamp onto Coconut White Card.
Stamp again onto 2 different pieces of Couture Creations Damask Delight paper.
Cut out the paper images and glue onto the original image using the 2nd paper for the rope.
Cut a piece of Coconut White card for the background. Randomly stamp the Paw Print Lattice background with Citrus Adirondack Ink.
Stamp over the top with "Hang in There" using Black Archival Ink.
Matt and layer onto the same paper as the rope was cut from.
Matt and layer Pickles onto the same paper and Black Foundations Card.
Cut a Lattice Strip from the Spellbinders 3d Lattice Bow set.
Glue to the left side of the card.
Attach Pickles to the card with 3d foam pads.
Die cut the Lattice Bow using the same 2 papers as before. Glue the smaller one on top and add a Small Round Black Circle Dazzler to the centre. Glue into place on the card.
And there's the finished project!
Everything used on this card is from Creative Expressions. I do hope you like it.
As you read this, I'll be setting off on a cruise to Rio (Steve is working on it). I have all my projects scheduled and ready to go until I get back on the 23rd.
So until next time, have a happy, crafty week and please stop by while I'm away....I've got some lovely projects lined up!!
Good Morning all and a Very Happy Tuesday!
Another project this week using products from Creative Expressions. I always love it when I get new stamps from them to play with and the new dance stamps are no exception.
I've made a wall hanging for this weeks project as I wanted to make a little Xmas gift for a friend...here's hoping she likes it!
Anyway, let's get started......
Cover a Pronty Wall Plaque with Couture Creations 12x12 Damask Paper. Paint around the edges with Black Soot Distress Paint.
Place the Sunrise Mask over the top half of the plaque. Dab through the mask with Flake and Glitter Glue.
Remove the mask then apply Cosmic Shimmer Aurora Lights Gilding Flakes.
Dab the glue around the edges of the plaque then apply more of the Gilding Flakes.
Ink up the "Top Hat and Tails" Singles Stamp with Black Archival Ink and stamp 5 times onto Coconut White Card. Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder.
Die cut the stamped images with Spellbinders 8 Labels.
Position them so that the image is cut with an even border each time but getting progressively smaller.
I hope that the picture explains what I mean!
Draw around the largest die used onto Black Card then cut out. Glue the largest of the dancers images onto the black card, then build up the layers using 3d foam pads.
Ink up the sentiment from the A5 "Step by Step" Stamp Set with Black Archival. Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder.
Cut out with the Spellbinders Standard Circles Small Dies.
Draw around the outer edge of the die on black card then cut out as a matt.
Glue the dancer and sentiment onto the plaque.
Add Black Seam Binding as a hanger.
And that's the finished project...hope you like it!
Julia Watts has done such a good job using these stamps that I wanted to do something very different with them. Do go to her blog and take a look, there are some gorgeous cards using the dance stamps.
Well, that's it for today...can't believe that it's December already! Where has this year gone!!
So, until next time, have a happy, crafty week!
Good Morning all and a Very Happy Tuesday.
I thought I'd share a project for Christmas to decorate a door with. All of the products used are from Creative Expressions except for the chipboard hanger.
So let's get started.....
Cover a chipboard hanger with Couture Creations Vintage Christmas Paper.
Cut out the sentiment from a piece of the same paper.
Matt and layer the sentiment onto coordinating paper.
Apply Flake and Glitter Glue to the small Holly Spray Stamp from the A5 Christmas Post Stamp Set. Stamp randomly onto the door hanger then apply Cosmic Shimmer Mulled Wine Gilding Flakes.
Paint around the edges of the hanger with Black Soot Distress Paint.
Colour a piece of Coconut White Card with Evergreen Bough and Frayed Burlap Distress Inks. Stamp the Robin from the Christmas Post Set with Black Archival Ink onto the coloured card.
Heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder.
Lift some of the colour from the image with a wet paintbrush to give highlights.
Cut out with Spellbinders Standard Circles Small Dies.
Draw around the outer edge of the die on black card and cut out.
Cut out the next largest die using Coconut White Card with Double Sided Adhesive on it.
Apply Mulled Wine Gilding Flakes. Matt and layer attaching the top layer with 3d foam pads.
Apply Evergreen Bough Distress Ink over the top of the sentiment. Cover with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder then heat emboss.
Cut a piece of Coconut White card and, using the double sided adhesive, apply Gilding Flakes as before.
Cut a piece of black card then matt and layer the sentiment adding the top layer with 3d foam pads.
Attach the Robin and the Sentiment to the hanger with 3d foam pads.
And there's the finished project!
I do wish I could pass the real thing around for you all to look at....the photo really doesn't do it justice! The colour of the background paper looks much lighter in the photo than it does on the actual project and the colours go together so well.
Anyway, hope you like it! Well, that's it for this week. Many thanks for stopping by and leaving comments. I'll be back next week with another project for Christmas so until then, have a happy, crafty week!
Good Morning All and a very Happy Tuesday.
I'm back with another design using the fab frame stamps, this time it's one of the smaller ones. I've also used a sentiment that was issued a few months ago but it's one of my favourites!
Start by covering a Pronty MDF Heart with Couture Creations Paper from the Damask 12x12 pad. Distress around the edges with Adirondack Citrus Ink.
Ink up one of the Ornate Mini Frames with the Citrus Ink, stamp onto Coconut White Card and heat emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder.
Line the sentiment up to fit the frame and stamp the sentiment with Black Archival Ink. Heat emboss (carefully!) with clear powder. After trimming to size, distress around the edges with the Citrus Ink.
Matt and layer onto black card.
Die cut the tag from the Californian Collection, Corner, Border and Tag Set using the Couture Creations Paper. Cut it in half and glue to the ends of the stamped image.
Paint around the edge of the heart with Black Soot Distress Paint.
Punch 2 holes in the heart to thread the ribbon through. A Crop-a Dile goes through the MDF with no trouble.
Glue the sentiment into position on the heart.
Die cut some flowers and leaves from the Finishing Touches Faux Quilled Blooms Die Set using the same papers as before.
Layer the flowers and glue together. Shape and glue into position on the heart.
Use the Couture Creations Papers to die cut butterflies from the Sue Wilson Magical Butterflies set of dies. Edge them with Citrus ink and shape the wings. Glue into position.
Add some Small Black Circle Dazzlers to the flower centres. Stick a row of 3mm Black Self Adhesive Pearls to the bodies of the Butterflies.
Colour a length of white Seam Binding with the Citrus Ink, dry with a heat gun and tie onto the heart.
And there's the finished project!
A really cheerful summery feel to it, just what's needed now the nights are drawing in and the weather is getting decidedly cooler!!
Well, that's all for this week, I hope you like the project.
Just wanted to say, hasn't John done an amazing job showing you the Sue Wilson dies on Create and Craft...lovely to have him on the team!
Until next time, have a happy, crafty week!
