Rustic Sunflower Card

Hello all!  Happy Wednesday!  I am posting on the SumMore Fun blog today with this pretty fall themed card.  I don't know about where you live, but we have been freezing (literally!) in Nebraska. Hopefully you are able to enjoy the fall weather and temps longer than us.  The stamps I used are the Victorine Originals Large Sunflower stamp and the Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set.The red rubber Large Sunflower stamp will be retired from the SumMoreFun website soon, so grab it while you can!  It is definitely a favorite stamp of many.  To recreate the card I made, you can use a toner ink pad to stamp your sunflower, then foil, stamp with regular black ink, scan it into your computer, then print it out with a laser printer and foil, or even stamp with embossable ink and heat emboss with gold powder.  The end results will all be quite similar.  My foiling didn't turn out perfect as the foil wrinkled in a couple of places, allowing the black toner to show through, but it is a rustic card, so I thought it worked well!  Next up, I watercolored the image with Distress Oxide inks in the following colors: Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, and Lucky Clover.  I wiped off the excess ink from the foiling with a paper towel.
I ink blended around the edges of the image with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide.  Once it was dry, I sealed the ink with Mod Podge acrylic sealer to prevent ink transfer.  I matted the image with brown cardstock then wrapped Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine around it and added a small tag with a sentiment from the No Loss For Words stamp set.  After adding a bottom layer of distressed patterned papers, The card was complete!  In the photo below you can see the shine of the foiling.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Pink Halloween Card

Good morning!  Today I am back on the SumMore Fun blog with an adorable, non-traditional Halloween card.  If you have followed my blog for a while, you know that I am all about cute projects for Halloween and this one just oozes CUTE!  The stamp set that I used is the Raisin Boat Boo Hoo set.
How did I make this card?  I started by making the background paper customized.  Both the eyes and striped paper were part of the Ghost Pack that SumMore Fun released over the weekend (but is now sold out!). I foiled the eyes with gold, then used Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and a blending brush to make it pink.  I spritzed it with water to get a speckled appearance, then inked around the edges with Scrapbook.com Candy Shop Pink hybrid ink. I added a die cut circle of vellum to the pink paper then adhered the striped paper that was matted with black and wrapped with Pink Licorice Trendy Twine. The sentiment is from the Boo Hoo stamp set and was also in Candy Shop Pink ink.
Now onto the fun part...THAT IMAGE!! Now honestly, when have you ever seen a cuter ghost? I haven't!  It is from the Raisin Boat Boo Hoo set.  I stamped it with Scrapbook.com black hybrid ink and colored it with Artify alcohol markers. It is die cut with a GMD stitched rectangle die. Ready for the fun part?  I placed it on an action wobble so it moves!  The finishing touches were black matte enamel dots and a bow of Pink Licorice Trendy Twine on the ghost's head.  I think this will be a perfect card for my niece :)

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Lily Sympathy Card

Good Morning!  Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog.  The card I am sharing with you uses the Raisin Boat In Loving Memory stamp set.
I started out by stamping the single lily from the In Loving Memory stamp set onto white cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossing it with regular white embossing powder.  I then ran it through a laminator with a gold foil sheet to get the beautiful foiled image.  For extra color, I used Dusty Concord Distress Oxide ink, smeared it on my craft mat, spritzed it with water, then dabbed my stamped image into the ink.  I just LOVE how the oxidation created different colors!  I used a GMD pleated square die to cut around the flower and popped it up with foam tape.
All of the patterned papers are from DCWV's Lilac Love stack.  I stamped a sentiment from the In Loving Memory stamp set using Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  Lastly, I added a few dots of gold Pearl pen!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Foiled Floral Cards

Good Morning!  Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog.  The cards I am sharing with you use the Victorine Originals Floral and Sayings stamp set.
On these cards, I tried my hand at foiling for the first time!  I love the shiny metallic finish it gives, but it is hard to capture that in photos.  For this anniversary card, I stamped the floral bouquet from the Floral and Sayings stamp set onto white paper using VersaMark ink and heat embossed with regular white embossing powder.  I always use my stamp platform when embossing!  I then ran the stamped paper with a piece of foil (shiny side up) through my laminator (no carrier sheet).  When the paper was cool, I peeled off the foil to reveal the image!
I used various oval dies to cut around the floral design and added a Happy Anniversary sticker to the center.  I embellished with Pearl Pen dots in Gold and Ice White and white seam binding ribbon.
For my second card, I followed the same foiling process except I used an ultrafine embossing powder and it gave a more bold foiled image.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Floral and Sayings stamp set in black.  I added a double bow of Pink Midnight Trendy Twine in the bottom right corner.
See that metallic shine?!  It definitely makes an eye-catching card!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
