GIU Gal Day#3

Hello all! Welcome to Day 3 of my Growing in Unity week. I am thrilled to be able to showcase Unity Stamp Co. products every day this week. Make sure you follow along and comment on my blog each day for a chance to win $20 Unity gift certificates sponsored by Unity Stamp Co!

Today my project is a gift tag for a jar of jam.

I started with watercolor paper and die cut the decorative tag. I then stamped the image from Unity's May 2019 KOM, Sweetness, Miracles, & Wishes with Scrapbook.com hybrid black ink. I love that that ink works for both watercoloring and alcohol markers! Once that was thoroughly dry, I used Distress Oxide inks and an aqua brush to watercolor the image. The colors I used were: Candied Apple, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, Lucky Clover, Fossilized Amber, Vintage Photo, and Pumice Stone. I let that thoroughly dry again, then added the sentiment strip, which was also stamped from the same stamp set, with foam tape. Last of all, I embellished the tag with a Cherry Latte Trendy Page Dot, Holly Berry Trendy Twine, and gold pearl pen dots.
Make sure you leave a comment here before you go and come back tomorrow for another project!
Here are the previous posts for my GIU week in case you missed them: Day 1, Day 2

SheetLoad of Halloween Cards

Hello all! I know Halloween was Tuesday, but I am not on top of all my photo editing and blogging as I would love to be, so y'all are seeing these cards today LOL!  It started out as me thinking I was going to make 9 cards with the September 2022 SheetLoad of Cards sketch...only I cut enough patterned paper for 17.  So, 17 mini slimline Halloween cards it was!

I used various 6x6 Halloween papers that I had in my stash. The stamp sets I used are retired Raisin Boat sets called Boo Hoo and Canines in Costume and were stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.

The top part of the card was die cut with Pink Fresh Label Frame dies and I inked around the edges for some color (because no way was I coloring all of those images!) with Distress Oxide inks in Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade, and one had Peacock Feathers used on it as well.  A trio of Park Lane adhesive gems were the only embellishment I used. Adhesives include ATG and Bearly Art precision tip glue.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

You Are Amazing Card

Hello all!  I recently was gifted a $100 certificate to My Favorite Things, which was amazingly generous of them!  I was able to purchase several of their wonderful products and they arrived today.  I couldn't wait to get creating, so I decided to jump into their challenges (Sketch 576 and Color Challenge 181) with both feet using some of the new products.  Here is what I created.

The stamp set I used was MFT All About You and the die cut is by the same name.  I die cut the "you" first, then stamped it so make sure it was centered well.  The "are amazing" was embossed with clear embossing powder.  The background was created by ink blending Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple Distress Oxides, then I heat embossed with clear embossing powder on those areas, making a fun shiny texture.  I splattered with black acrylic paint, then die cut with a GMD stitched rectangle die.  The gray was cut with a GMD Eyelet Elegance die.  To embellish, I added a few black pearl pen dots.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Here is what I created to share today:
This card uses the following items from the Holiday Glow PackHoliday Glow stamp set, and Believe in Christmas stamp set.  I started by stamping the lamp post from Holiday Glow with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossing it with WOW white pearl embossing powder.  It gives a dark metal look that I love!  I then stamped the sign shape in green and the street name in black.  I stamped the sleigh and reindeer silhouette from the Believe in Christmas stamp set in dark gray ink.

To create the snowy scene, I masked off a circle to look like a moon in the corner and proceeded to ink blend with the following Distress Oxides:  Fossilized AmberChipped Sapphire, and Black Soot.  Once it was blended how I liked, I used white pigment ink to stamp snowflakes from Holiday Glow all over the background.  I then splattered white acrylic paint on the background and added torn strips of white paper at the bottom to look like snow.  The finishing touch was adding Sky Glitter Pearl Pen dots all over the background and along the snow at the bottom.  It really added more sparkle and shine to the card!  I love how magical this scene turned out!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Rustic Sunflower Card

Hello all!  Happy Wednesday!  I am posting on the SumMore Fun blog today with this pretty fall themed card.  I don't know about where you live, but we have been freezing (literally!) in Nebraska. Hopefully you are able to enjoy the fall weather and temps longer than us.  The stamps I used are the Victorine Originals Large Sunflower stamp and the Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set.The red rubber Large Sunflower stamp will be retired from the SumMoreFun website soon, so grab it while you can!  It is definitely a favorite stamp of many.  To recreate the card I made, you can use a toner ink pad to stamp your sunflower, then foil, stamp with regular black ink, scan it into your computer, then print it out with a laser printer and foil, or even stamp with embossable ink and heat emboss with gold powder.  The end results will all be quite similar.  My foiling didn't turn out perfect as the foil wrinkled in a couple of places, allowing the black toner to show through, but it is a rustic card, so I thought it worked well!  Next up, I watercolored the image with Distress Oxide inks in the following colors: Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, and Lucky Clover.  I wiped off the excess ink from the foiling with a paper towel.
I ink blended around the edges of the image with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide.  Once it was dry, I sealed the ink with Mod Podge acrylic sealer to prevent ink transfer.  I matted the image with brown cardstock then wrapped Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine around it and added a small tag with a sentiment from the No Loss For Words stamp set.  After adding a bottom layer of distressed patterned papers, The card was complete!  In the photo below you can see the shine of the foiling.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Wood Planks Card

Hello friends!  Once again, I am posting for the SumMore Fun blog today.  I am sharing one last card that I created using the stamps from the Handy Man Pack.  Those sets are  RB Handy Man and RB Nailed It.

While this card may seem simple, I was very excited to make it!  I started by placing the wood plank stamp from the Handy Man stamp set into the center of my stamp platform and stamping it over and over on kraft cardstock with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink.  I simply would move my paper to wherever I thought it would be neat to have the next plank!  Once the paper was trimmed to the planks, I distressed the joints with Scrapbook.com Leather ink using a narrow blending brush.  Once that was adhered to the card base, I stamped the sentiment from Nailed It in black.  On a scrap piece of paper, I stamped the circular saw image from Handy Man, cut it out with my Brother Scan N Cut, and colored it with Artify alcohol markers before adhering it to the card with foam tape.  The final addition to the card were several tiny dots of silver Pearl Pen to mimic nail heads in the boards.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Thankful Leaves Card and SNEAK PEEK!

Hello all!  I am on the SumMore Fun blog today with this lovely fall card.  The leaves are all from the beautiful Raisin Boat Arboretum Leaves stamp set.  It is THE PERFECT stamp set for fall!

The card was very simple to make.  I stamped the leaf stamps from Arboretum Leaves with Distress Oxides in the following colors: Aged Mahogany, Rusty Hinge, Peacock Feathers, and Fossilized Amber all over the white cardstock.  I sprayed that panel with Mod Podge matte acrylic sealer so the ink wouldn't rub off.  I added Twisted Teal Trendy Twine around the panel and embellished with enamel dots.  For the sentiment, I started with a CC stitched circle die cut of vellum and glued two Momenta "thankful" sentiments to it.  The vellum circle was popped up with thin pieces of foam tape behind the sentiment so it wouldn't be visible from the front side.

Last, but definitely not least, I have a sneak peek for you!  In TWO DAYS we will be releasing another "pack".  I can't tell you what it is, but here is a teaser for you...
Be sure to stop back on Friday to see the entire pack!  It will be limited quantities and the last couple of packs we released sold out within 3 days.  I don't want you to miss out!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Sheet Happens! Card

Hello all!  I am back on the SumMore Fun blog today with another fun Halloween card.  I really love the personality of the ghost stamp sets that were included in the Ghost Pack we released earlier!  This card was created with the Raisin Boat Sheet Happens stamp set.
I stamped the image and sentiment from Sheet Happens using Scrapbook.com hybrid black ink and colored the image with Artify alcohol markers.  I then used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut around the image.  The striped paper was from the sold out Ghost Pack, but I jazzed it up by adding some Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink onto it by using the smooshing technique.  I thought that color matched the "paint" color from the can well!  It really looked like the ghost had quite the painting mishap!  I added two die buttons die cut with a Cottage Cutz button die and embellished with Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine.  This is not your normal Halloween card and I love that!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Pink Halloween Card

Good morning!  Today I am back on the SumMore Fun blog with an adorable, non-traditional Halloween card.  If you have followed my blog for a while, you know that I am all about cute projects for Halloween and this one just oozes CUTE!  The stamp set that I used is the Raisin Boat Boo Hoo set.
How did I make this card?  I started by making the background paper customized.  Both the eyes and striped paper were part of the Ghost Pack that SumMore Fun released over the weekend (but is now sold out!). I foiled the eyes with gold, then used Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and a blending brush to make it pink.  I spritzed it with water to get a speckled appearance, then inked around the edges with Scrapbook.com Candy Shop Pink hybrid ink. I added a die cut circle of vellum to the pink paper then adhered the striped paper that was matted with black and wrapped with Pink Licorice Trendy Twine. The sentiment is from the Boo Hoo stamp set and was also in Candy Shop Pink ink.
Now onto the fun part...THAT IMAGE!! Now honestly, when have you ever seen a cuter ghost? I haven't!  It is from the Raisin Boat Boo Hoo set.  I stamped it with Scrapbook.com black hybrid ink and colored it with Artify alcohol markers. It is die cut with a GMD stitched rectangle die. Ready for the fun part?  I placed it on an action wobble so it moves!  The finishing touches were black matte enamel dots and a bow of Pink Licorice Trendy Twine on the ghost's head.  I think this will be a perfect card for my niece :)

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Contents of the Ghost Pack:

1 -Boo Hoo photopolymer stamp set
1 -Sheet Happens photopolymer stamp set
3 -orange card bases
3 -white card bases

6 -6” x 6” 100 lb designer card stock*
6 -3.5” x 8.5” 100 lb designer card stock*

Regular Retail Price Separately: $39.99
Pack Price: $27.99

*The black and white designs are printed on a laser so they can be foiled.

So what do I have for you today?? A slimline shaker card!  I had a lot of fun creating it!  Items I used from the Ghost Pack include the striped cardstock and Raisin Boat Boo Hoo stamp set.
The image and sentiment were stamped with Scrapbook.com hybrid black ink.  I colored the image with Artify alcohol markers.  I prepared the striped cardstock by distressing it with Distress Oxide inks in the following colors: Faded Jeans, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, Fossilized Amber.  I just laid the ink on my glass mat, spritzed it with water then saturated a paint brush with it and splattered away!
After that was dry, I cut a hole in the center to frame the stamped image.  I adhered acetate and foam tape around the rectangle then added polymer clay slices, sequins, and candy pieces that were stamped from the Boo Hoo stamp set, colored, and cut with my Brother Scan N Cut.  Once the shaker was assembled, I embellished the front with Gray Licorice Trendy Twine, the sentiment. and more stamped candies!

Keep in mind that quantities are limited for the Ghost Pack!  Once they are gone, you will not be able to get any of the cute extras included with the stamp sets.  Remember the Chicken Pack that we released in July?  That sold out over one weekend, so don't wait to grab this set!

4th of July Birthday Card

Happy Sunday! For a while I will be posting for the SumMore Fun blog on Sundays instead of my regular Wednesdays. We will be having weekend promos in which a certain stamp set will be free with your order of $35+. Awesome, right?! This weekend, through Monday, you can get the Raisin Boat Red, White & Blue stamp set at no cost if you make a $35+ order.  Here is what I made for inspiration:
I started with a white piece of cardstock and stamped the fireworks image from the Red, White & Blue set with VersaMark.  Two of them I heat embossed with gold powder, and the other 3 I embossed with a silver glitter powder.  I love how the gold looked on the white, but once the ink blending took place, the silver glitter was definitely more showy.  I then used Distress Oxides in Fossilized Amber, Candied Apple, and Blueprint Sketch to blend with brushes on the fireworks.  I then came back in with Chipped Sapphire DO to fill in the rest of the night sky, then blended Black Soot DO around the outside edge.  I also sealed the ink with a few light sprays of Mod Podge matte clear acrylic sealer so the ink wouldn't rub off.
The sentiment stamp was also from Red, White & Blue, I simply masked off the USA at the bottom right portion of the stamp since this is going to be for my dad whose birthday is July 4th!  Once stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, I heat embossed the sentiment with black powder.  I wound Celebration Trendy Twine in a circle and glued it to the card front before adhering the sentiment banner with foam tape.  The final touches were GMD New Years Sparkle enamel dots.

Here is a look at the Red, White & Blue stamp set:
How do you get it for free?? To claim this deal, simply add Red, White & Blue to your shopping cart and continue shopping at SumMore Fun. Once your order *excluding* Red, White & Blue reaches a subtotal of $35, Red, White & Blue will automatically be marked down!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Beat This Cancer Card

Hello all!  I am back with another cancer themed card for the SumMore Fun blog.  This time it has a masculine kidney cancer theme.  That is the awesome part about the SumMore Fun You Can stamp set...with a different ink color and patterned paper, the whole FEEL of the card can be totally different.  You can see other cards I have made with this stamp set HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
I started by die cutting a piece of the patterned paper with a wonky stitched rectangle die then stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with clear powder.  I matted it with coordinating colors of cardstock then added three eyelets to the top right corner.  I stamped the cancer ribbon with Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink, heat embossed it with clear powder, then cut it out with my Brother Scan N Cut. I did have to use my craft knife to cut the inside hole of the ribbon.  The ribbon was popped up with foam tape and the card was complete!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Thankful Fall Wreath Card

Hello all!  I am on the SumMore Fun blog with this card today.  I had so much fun using different elements from the Raisin Boat Thankful stamp set to create it.  You can get this stamp set for a steal of a price...only $5.99 and it works for fall and winter!
I used the wreath builder technique on this card with my stamp platform.  I cut a 4" square of white cardstock and stamped the grapevine wreath in the center of it using brown Memento ink.  Then I stamped leaves and berries using Distress Oxides in Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge, Fossilized Amber, and Fired Brick.  The bow was also stamped in Fired Brick.  The sentiment was the last thing I stamped and that was with the brown Memento ink.  I layered the stamped panel onto printed papers from DCWV's Fall & Halloween Basics stack and added a mustard burlap ribbon along the left side.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Scattered Leaves Card

Hello crafty friends!  I am on the SumMore Fun blog with this fall card.  The stamp set I used on it is Raisin Boat's Arboretum Leaves and is free with your $50+ order from SumMore Fun through the month of October or it can be purchased for only $5.99.
I started with a piece of kraft cardstock measuring 4"x5.25".  I used Distress Oxide Inks in the following colors to stamp on the kraft:  Aged Mahogany, Fired brick, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Squeezed Lemonade, Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Pine Needles, Peeled Paint, and Antique Linen.  On the large stamps, I started with the darker color on my stamp platform, then inked with the lighter color around the edges of the stamp and re-stamped them.  I then spritzed a fine mist of water over it to create the oxidized look.
The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black and matted with 2 other banner strips before securing it to the card front with a brad.  I also added 3 brads among the leaves.  To finish the card, I matted the kraft layer onto yellow and red cardstock for an extra pop of color.  I had a lot of fun incorporating all but one of the stamps from the Arboretum Leaves stamp set into this card!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
