Distress Ink Confirmation Card

Hello all! Today I am sharing a Confirmation card that I created with Distress Inks on the focal panel.
I used Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, and Fired Brick and inked a large acrylic block, spritzed it with water, then pressed it onto watercolor paper, adding somthing to weigh the block down and left it for 5 minutes. Once I removed the acrylic block, I dried the paper with my heat gun and went to work creating the rest of the card! The background paper was from DCWV's Gold Foil 6x6 paper stack. The cross was die cut from white glitter paper from DCWV's Whites 6x6 paper stack. That die cut was the GMD scroll cross die. I embellished with GMD gold foil enamel dots and used foam tape to pop up a sentiment that was stamped from Raisin Boat's Handle With Prayer set using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and clear embossing powder.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Mermaid You're Fintastic Card

I'll admit, I didn't use to be a fan of mermaids.  That all changed once I had a little girl plus a niece who really loves them!  This card happened to be for my niece.  The stamp set I used was a gift from Kendra, and it couldn't have been more perfect!  Thanks Kendra!
I used a background of patterned paper from the Craft Smith Stay Magical paper pad then created the focal point with watercolor paper and ink to acrylic block then spritzed with water with Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, and Shabby Shutters.  The stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, then heat embossed with Wow! Clear Sparkle embossing powder for lots of sparkle and shine!  The stamp set is called Salty but Sweet by Sassy & Crafty.  The sentiment was popped up with foam tape and the sequins and paper layers were adhered with Bearly Art precision tip glue.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Trendy Bakers Twine~Mother's Day Card

Hello all!  Today I am on the Trendy Twine blog with a Mother's Day card.  It features one of our bright and cheerful twines of the month, Totally Lemon Trendy Twine.
I started by stamping a Unity stamp onto watercolor paper with Scrapbook.com hybrid black ink.  Once that was fully dry, I watercolored the image with Distress Inks then die cut around the image with a GMD Eyelet Elegance rectangle die.  That die has the perfect holes to weave the Totally Lemon Trendy Twine through!  I love how it added texture and created another visual frame around the image.  I added a sentiment from the APB Friendship stamp set onto a kraft banner and glued a die cut "mom" above it to make it a little more personalized.  The sequins on the card are from the Grape Fizz SequinRaspberry Cupcake Sequin and Sky Sequin mixes and were adhered with Bearly Art precision tip glue. The whole front panel was then glued to a kraft card base that I had distressed with brown ink along the edges.  I think this will be the perfect card to give my mom for Mother's Day!

Here's what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Growing In Unity Day 3

Thanks for coming to my week of Growing in Unity!  From Monday through Friday I will post a new creation daily that feature stamps from Unity Stamp Co.  Be sure to stop by and comment each day because there will be 2 random winners from my blog comments who will each win a $20 gift credit to Unity!

On to project #3...

The stamps I used were from Unity's Unexpected Places (KOM 2/17) stamp set.  I inked them with Scrapbook.com hybrid black ink and stamped them onto watercolor paper.  I used my stamp platform and re-inked three times to achieve the rich black lines you see on the card.  Once dry, I used various Distress Ink colors and watercolored the coffee cups.  I also made a faux "coffee cup" circle at the top and splatters with Distress Ink as well.  I kept this card simple, which is hard for me to do!!  I simply matted the stamped panel onto a dark brown cardstock layer, then onto a corrugated embossed kraft cardstock.  The card was complete!
As I mentioned earlier, be sure to leave a comment and stop by all week to increase your chances at winning those Unity gift certificates!

Growing in Unity Day 2

Hello all! Welcome to Day 2 of my Growing in Unity week!  What an honor to be able to participate in this fun experience.  Monday through Friday this week I will be posting a new project every day with the hopes to inspire you.  Everyone who comments on my posts this week will be entered into a drawing for two $20 gift certificates to Unity Stamp Co.  Isn't that so generous of them to donate those prizes?
Here is my second card of the week:
I used a past Kit of the Month called In Love with Love (KOM 6/14) to create this card.  I stamped the beautiful lady and sentiment with Scrapbook.com hybrid black ink onto watercolor paper.  To watercolor the image, I used Distress Inks in the following colors: Vintage Photo, Peacock Feathers, Scattered Straw, and for the skin, I combined Antique Linen and Spun Sugar.  Once dry, I added a thin washi tape strip to the left side and three GMD Nautical Ocean enamel dots on the right.  I used Bearly Art glue as the adhesive.
Remember to keep stopping by my blog and commenting all week for a chance to win one of 2 $20 GC to Unity!  If you missed a past day, you can find it here:

Handy WOman Cards!

Hello!  Have you been inspired by the recent cards I have been posting for the SumMore Fun blog using the Handy Man Pack?  Today's project is very different.  It is for the handy WOMEN in your lives!  I know many women who would love and deserve to get a card like this one.  I used the Raisin Boat Nailed It stamp set to create these.
I started with watercolor paper and a 4x6" acrylic block.  I smeared Distress Inks in the following colors onto the cube in random areas: Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, and Seedless Preserves.  I then spritzed the block with water and flipped it over onto the watercolor paper, sat a heavy object onto the block and let it sit for 5 minutes before removing the block.  I was thrilled by the way it turned out!  Once it was completely dry, I cut it in half to make 2 cards from the one background.

I used the an embossing buddy over the whole inked panel and positioned the image stamps where I wanted them.  Using a stamp platform, I stamped the images 3 times with Scrapbook.com white pigment ink to make sure I had great coverage on the watercolor paper, then heat embossed with white powder.  I kept the cards simple, only matting the panel with solid colors of cardstock, then stamping the sentiment in Scrapbook.com Candy Shop Pink ink.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Carefree Birds Card

Happy Sunday! For a while I will be posting for the SumMore Fun blog on Sundays instead of my regular Wednesdays. We will be having weekend promos in which a certain stamp set will be free with your order of $35+. Awesome, right?! This weekend, through Monday, you can get the Raisin Boat Free As A Bird at no cost if you make a $35+ order.  Here is what I made for inspiration:
I started with a piece of watercolor paper and die cut it with a GMD stitched rectangle die.  I made the background by rubbing Distress Inks in Work Lipstick, Seedless Preserves, and Salty Ocean on an acrylic stamping block.  I lightly spritzed the block with water then flipped it upside down onto the watercolor paper.  I placed something heavy on the block and let it sit for 5 minutes, then removed the block and let it dry.  The next step was to stamp the images from the Free As A Bird set with VersaMark and heat emboss with white powder.  I really love that look!  The final bit of stamping was to add the Carefree sentiment from Free As A Bird in light blue.  I matted the white panel with solid cardstocks in the same colors as the ink.  The only embellishment I used was glitter pink Pearl Pen dots.  I think it turned out to be a very delicate and tranquil card!

Here is a look at the Free As A Bird:

How do you get it for free?? To claim this deal, simply add Free As A Bird to your shopping cart and continue shopping at SumMore Fun. Once your order *excluding* Free As A Bird reaches a subtotal of $35, Free As A Bird will automatically be marked down!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Poinsettia Merry Christmas Card

Hello and Happy December!  Today I am on the SumMore Fun blog with this elegant Christmas card that uses two Raisin Boat stamp sets, Dear Santa and Merry Nature.
The poinsettia and pinecones from Dear Santa were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and watercolored with Distress Inks.  After they were dry, I cut them out with my Scan N Cut.  The sentiment is from the Merry Nature stamp set and is also stamped in VF Onyx Black.  The other items I used to create this card include GMD scalloped stitched rectangle dies, GMD Floral Frame dies, paper from TPS Rustic Noel, ATGFoam tape, and red Pearl Pen.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Happy Father's Day Card

Good Morning!  Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog.  The card I am sharing with you uses the Victorine Originals Large Happy Father's Day red rubber stamp.  It can also be purchased as part of the To My Parents set, which is on clearance right now!
I started out by prepping the background using watercolor paper and Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, and Vintage Photo.  I had a large acrylic block that I smeared the inks on, spritzed it with water, then turned the block over onto the watercolor paper.  I added weight onto the block and let it set for 5 minutes, then removed the block.  When it was dry, I flicked some white acrylic paint onto the background then heat set the whole paper.  I stamped the Happy Father's Day stamp using VersaFine Onyx Black and clear embossing powder.  I always use a stamp platform with watercolor paper due to the texture of it making it hard to get a complete stamped image the first time.  I added white gel pen accents to the word "father's" and a few silver Pearl Pen dots to finish it off.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Rocket Grad Card

Good Morning!  Happy first day of May!  Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog.  The card I am sharing with you uses the Raisin Boat Opportunity Knocks stamp set.  It is a great set for graduations and other school related projects.
This card started with watercolor paper and did an acrylic block watercolor technique (you can see a video with a how-to here) and Distress Inks in Fired Brick, Mustard Seed, and Salty Ocean.  Once dry, I stamped the rocket and sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I used my embossing buddy on the top of the paper, then stamped the stars with VersaMark and heat embossed them with white powder.  I added doodles with black and white gel pens.  The only embellishments were Pearl Pens in black, blue, and red.  Products also used on this card include ATG, solid colored cardstock, and GMD Stitched rectangle dies.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Coffee Cup Card

Good Morning!  Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog.  The coffee themed card I am sharing with you uses Raisin Boat's Guilty Pleasures stamp set.  It is an awesome set!
I started off by stamping the image in Versafine Onyx Black ink, then watercolored it with Distress Inks in Weathered Wood, Antique Linen, Mowed Lawn, and Vintage Photo.  When it was dry, I die cut it with a GMD pleated lace square die.  I used OWH sketch #6 for the layout of the card.  I really wanted to use fun patterned papers and so I went with Echo Park's For the Record 2 6x6 pad.  I added a sentiment from the same Guilty Pleasures stamp set at the bottom, once again, stamped in black.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Hot Dog Wobble Card

Good Morning!  Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog.  The card I am sharing with you uses the Raisin Boat Canines in Costume stamp set.  I just love how fun that set is!
I stamped the wiener dog from the Canines in Costume stamp set onto white cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink, then watercolored it with Distress Inks (Antique Linen, Fired Brick, Mustard Seed, Vintage Photo, and Weathered Wood).  The white and black ovals were die cut with GMD Slash Stitched Oval Dies.  I even added an Action Wobble between those two layers so the dog would wiggle :)  I also stamped the Hot Dog sentiment from the same stamp set onto the yellow banner with black ink.
Here is a close up of the Action Wobble.  My boys all LOVED trying it out!  Other products used on this card include papers from the DCWV Good Eats stack and coordinating sequins.

Remember, we have a monthly "All Dressed Up" challenge going on right right now in the SumMore Fun Creations Facebook group!

SumMore Fun Monthly Challenge #1

Good morning and welcome to SumMore Fun's brand new challenge!  There are some big changes with this challenge so read on carefully...
From this challenge onward we will be moving to one challenge a month.  Each challenge will have a theme, this may be a technique for you to try or a physical theme.  We are no longer expecting you to link your blog post to our challenge post.  We have a great new Facebook fan group called SumMore Fun Creations. All entries should be placed in the album labelled Monthly Challenge #1 26th Oct in this group which can be found by clicking the link above.  This means even if you don't have a blog you can now join in!!

On to our first monthly challenge:
This month's theme is All Dressed Up

Here is what I created for inspiration using Raisin Boat's Canines In Costume stamp set.
I stamped the image and sentiment with black ink on heavy cardstock using my stamp platform.  Using Distress Inks and my aqua brush, I watercolored the image.  When it was dry, I added Glitter Pink Pearl Pen to the hat buckle, collar, and pumpkin for a little extra shine and glitter!  I die cut around the stamped area with a postage stamp die once the pearl pen was completely dry.  The card base was decorated with papers from DCWV's Eek-A-Boo stack, Trick Or Treat Trendy Twine, and Ice White Pearl Pen.  I then adhered the stamped panel to the card base with foam tape.
Now it is time for you to link up your "All Dressed Up" creations in the SumMore Fun Creations Facebook group!  You have a whole month to do so.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

SumMore Fun Mood Board #37

Happy Friday! Today is the start of a new challenge at the SumMore Fun blog with a new mood board (you can see it at the bottom of this post). Here is what I created for inspiration!
The stamp set that I used to create this card is Raisin Boat's Growing Love set.  I stamped the images and sentiment with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and then used white embossing powder on it.  Then I rubbed Distress Inks in Antique Linen, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick onto clear acrylic blocks.  I spritzed the blocks with water and flipped them over onto the watercolor paper.  I added a large book on top of the blocks for 5 minutes to make sure the colors were nice and vibrant on the paper.
I matted the stamped panel with black cardstock and gold paper lace borders.  The finishing touch was to add Glitter Pink Pearl Pen in the heart by the sentiment.  It added just the right bit of simmer and shine!

Here is a look at the current mood board:
You can enter using the theme, pictures, or colors. Lots of choices! Head on over to the SumMore Fun blog and check out their challenge post. You have two weeks to enter your project/s. We can't wait to see your take on the current Mood Board.

SumMore Fun Mood Board #33

Happy Friday! Today is the start of a new challenge at the SumMore Fun blog with a new mood board (you can see it at the bottom of this post). Here is what I created for inspiration using the Raisin Boat Imagine stamp set.
I started out with watercolor paper and used VersaMark ink to stamp the large background stamp and embossed it with white powder.  I then watercolored with Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, and Worn Lipstick.  Once dry, I trimmed it down and matted the center portion with black cardstock.  I added a butterfly stamp from the Imagine stamp set that was cut out with my Brother Scan N Cut and popped it up with foam tape.  The finishing touch was black nuvo crystal drops to create a butterfly trail.

Here is a look at the current mood board:
