Farm Fresh Card

I was lucky enough to grow up on a farm and my parents are so generous with the farm fresh produce they give us!  Sweet corn for eating fresh and freezing, apples for applesauce and pie filling, pears, and the list goes on.  This year was really a bumper crop for the fruit trees and I was very busy canning for quite a while, but I do believe I am caught up with that.  It is time consuming but so worth it!  This is a card for my parents to thank them for everything they have given us.  The die cuts on this card are from the Country Life Cricut cartridge.  I rarely make cards with only cuts from cartridges, but this is one of those few.  I added the bandana ribbon at the bottom and three yellow brads at the top left.
The corn is popped up and I embossed the yellow layer with a dots folder and then used yellow ink and white acrylic paint to make the ear of corn look bi-colored.  The corn husk was embossed with a striped embossing folder.
I used brown chalk around all the die cut layers and the matting layers.

I was very pleased at the country feel of this card as well as the fall/harvest theme of it too.  Harvesting has begun of the crops in the fields here and I know my parents are too, so they will really appreciate the theme of this card :)

Teacher Appreciation Card

Next week is teacher appreciation week.  I am so humbled at everything teachers do.  They have such patience and knowledge!  Here is a card to celebrate them...and if you are a teacher, THANK YOU for all that you do for our children!
The paper I used is from DCWV's Grade School stack.  I just love that paper!  I added rick rack, twine, a button and a bow.  The mini lunch bag is cut from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and more Cricut cartridge.  The apple is fussy cut from the paper stack and then I added glossy accents for a nice shine.
Have a wonderfully Crafty day!

Music Tile

I am so excited about this tile!  It is the first time I have tried using a background on any of my tiles and it turned out great.  I come from a musical family and this would be very fitting of my oldest sister especially.  I made the vinyl design in SCAL2 and cut it out on my Cricut.  If you are wondering where I get my vinyl, I buy most of it from H&H Sign Supply.  They have wonderful prices on larger amount of vinyl.  I wait to order until I need quite a bit since the shipping is on the high end.
I hope you enjoy it as well!

Crucifix Easter Card

This is the Easter card that I decided to send to my family this year.  It is so fun for me to go over the top with cutesy elements while I am making cards.  In fact, that is what I LOVE to do.  However, I was very drawn to make a religious card this year for Easter.  One that encompasses the reason why we even have this holiday!  I also made some of these cards to send to OWH for the troops.  This amazing SVG file was free from http://einnej.typepad.com/einnej/svg-files.html (just scroll down on that page and you will see a picture of it.)  I thought the background paper worked perfectly for the whole theme and the three square brads at the bottom represent the nails that were in Jesus' hands and feet.

Just a peek at all the different layers that I cut with SCAL2 and my Cricut for this card...8 layers in all for this card, not counting the card base.
This is the sentiment that I printed for the inside of the cards.  I just love the meaning of it!

I hope you have a very blessed Easter season!

Shamrock Card

Well, St. Patrick's Day is only one week away and I am so ready for spring!  Too bad it is blizzarding today which ruined the plans we had made.  Oh well.  Sometimes it is best to just stay at home and relax!
I wanted to share a card I've made with you.  It is a cute shamrock card made from the Charm and Chance SVG kit at SVGCuts.

This is a shot of the card and the envelope that I made to match using my Martha Stewart Scoring Board.

I hope that you are have more favorable weather than we are at this time and have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

Sizzix Eclips Giveaway by SVGCuts

If there is one website that I would say I LOVE to frequent, it is SVGCuts.  Not only are their cutting files top notch, they include in depth instruction PDF files with each download PLUS they make assembly videos for any 3D items!  I have purchased many of their SVG sets to cut with my SCAL2 software and my Cricut Expression.  SCAL2 is no longer available and many people have upgraded to more precise cutting machines that can utilize SVG's such as the Sizzix Eclips or the Silhouette Cameo.  Mary and Leo at SVGCuts are giving away a Sizzix Eclips in celebration of their website's fourth birthday!  All you need to do is enter here.  The giveaway is through Facebook and it says that they will pick a winner no later than 3/5/2013, so hurry and enter now!
Good luck!

Ceramic Tiles

This is just one of the current crafty loves that I have right now...making custom vinyled tiles.  I love creating the layout, picking out the colors of vinyl and tiles and seeing the finished product!  I have made so many of these for gifts which turned into a small business for me as the word spread about them.  For the most part I create all of the vinyl designs that I put onto the tiles in my Sure Cuts A Lot 2 software which is no longer available.  I then cut them out on my Cricut Expression, which I have had for three years now.  It is crazy to think how long I have been cutting up paper and vinyl :)
Here are some pictures of the tiles I have made:

The Live Laugh Love tile I designed the words but the corner designs were from the Storybook Cricut cartridge.  I used brown and tan vinyl.

This is MY tile :)  It was one of the first I made and the pictures of my two older boys are very outdated, but I really wanted to share what an 18" tile looks like all made up.  Once again, the corners are from the Storybook Cricut cartridge and the rest I designed myself using brown and burgundy vinyl.  You definitely need a large space for a tile this size!

The following two tiles are ones that were made on 12" tiles and are the first style of name tile that I started making.

This last tile is one that I feel has a wonderful message.  The colors of vinyl in this one are gold, brown and burgundy.

It seems like every time I turn around I see more saying and designs that I want to put on tiles, so I will be sharing more of these in the future!  If you were wondering where I get my vinyl, I buy most of it from H&H Sign Supply.  They have wonderful prices on larger amount of vinyl.  I wait to order until I need quite a bit since the shipping is on the high end.

Thanks for stopping by!
