Beauty Blossoms From the Inside

This is my last post as DT for Inspired by Stamping

The last 3 years as IBS DT member were amazing...I thoroughly enjoyed it but I won't be able to continue next year because of some personal reasons... Thanks a lot Joanna for having me here...

I would also like to thank all the lovely readers who always encouraged me with their wonderful comments!

Now moving onto my card & a short tutorial...

I have used Cherry Blossoms & Words of Inspiration II for today's card

I started with stamping the  Cherry Blossoms stamp set with Black Archival ink & colored it with Gansai Tambi Waterolors & koi waterbrush. Once colored I fussy cut it.

Next I die cut a piece of white cardstock with Geometric Lattice Coverplate Die, trimmed it & adhered it to a piece of white cardstock inked with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment from Words of Inspiration II on 4 x 5 1/4" white cardstock.

Now its time to assemble the card. The sentiment panel was mounted on a A2 card base inked with Salty Ocean Distress Ink & then the die cut panel was adhered down on that. I used foam adhesive to adhere the flowers for some added dimension. Lastly I added few drops of White Blizzard Nuvo Drops to add the finishing touch.

Today I am sharing a CAS card with you all made with one of my favorite stamp sets ... Magnolias & I have paired it with Just For You stamp set...

I started out with drawing 3 horizontal pencil guide lines to stamp my sentiment & then I stamped the Just for you sentiment with black archival ink...

Then I used Memento Paris Dusk ink to stamp the Magnolias around the sentiment & colored them with blue alcohol markers,,,

Next I lightly inked my card base edges with Mowed Lawn & Mermaid Lagoon distress ink & adhered my main panel on top.

Just For You

Background Technique for Tiny Stamps

Welcome to Inspired By Stamping inspiration post.

Today I am sharing a technique to use the tiny stamps in any stamp set to create beautiful backgrounds...

For this card I used various tiny stamps from Beautiful You, Just For You & Words of Inspiration II stamp sets & stamped them randomly to create the background. Then I took my stencil & inked lightly with the same color ink to finish the background.

Then I die cut the word Birthday from the background & from black cardstock 5 times. Stacked & glued them so that the stamped word was on top & glued the whole piece back on the background after stamping the work Happy from Fresh Bouquet stamp set right above the die cut word. I used a die cut scalloped black border to frame the background.

Today I am sharing a tutorial for today's card

I started with stamping my sentiment first which would give me a guideline to position my image. I positioned my sentiment stamp  from Beautiful You stamp set on watercolor cardstock  places in  mini MISTI. Closed the lid to pick p the stamp & then stamped it with black archival ink.

Then I stamped my image as shown with black archival ink.

Next I colored in the image with Gansai Tambi watercolors. I just wanted hint of colors & added light washes of color to achieve the look.

I added this panel on the card front inked lightly with mowed lawn distress ink. I added few drops of  Gloss Apple Green Nuvo Crystal Drops as a final touch.

Faux Brush Lettering

Hope you all are  doing well...

Today I am sharing a technique called Faux Brush Lettering with the help of Just For You stamp set from our newest release.

Start by choosing a sentiment that has brush lettering font.

I used the Just For You stamp because it has big & bold sentiment perfect for trying out this new (for me) technique...

I decided to use blues & greens for my sentiment so I stamped the sentiment with Tumbled Glass Distress ink on a piece of watercolor cardstock. You can use any light shade of ink you have which matches the final colors that you want to use. I feel distress inks are best for this technique because of their water reactive property.

Next take a brush & start painting over the stamped sentiment. Keep the start of the stroke dark and let the ink fade towards the end of the stroke. I have used 2 colors to add a little more interest as I planned on keeping the card simple.

To assemble the card I trimmed the sentiment panel & mounted it on slightly larger black cardstock before gluing it down to the card base. 

I took the Here's a hug from the same stamp set & heat embossed it on black cardstock with white embossing powder. Cut it into a banner & adhered it on the card.

Finally I added 2 tiny hearts made with Nuvo Crystal Drops (Green Apple).
