White & Gold Card

Hello friends and welcome to my blog
Today I am sharing a little trick to stretch your dies. I love finding new ways to use my dies. Sometimes the negative pieces of the die cuts can be used to create new and unique designs
The golden border on this card was made with left over die cuts from cards that I made for Christmas. (The die was the same that I used on the previous card that I posted here but in gold)
While I was cleaning the gold die cut this particular shape caught my eye and I started fiddling with it... arranging and rearranging them to make few designs and I used this border design for today's card. (I have used these pieces on another card that I will be posting in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that) The sentiment is also a part of another die cut.
Have you tried using the leftover pieces of die cuts to create some new unusual designs? Tell me in the comments down below. Scroll down for more details

Instructions:
Die cut a piece of Luxe Gold Cardstock and 2 pieces of white cardstock using the die from Ornamental Tags Die. Cut out the sentiment part from all the die cuts and then trim off the top part so that the letters are joined only at the bottom. Stack and adhere them together.

Adhere the negative die cut pieces of Luxe Gold Cardstock left after cutting Teardrop Lattice Gateway Die on a strip of white cardstock to create a slim border as shown. Adhere this border on a slightly wider piece of Luxe Gold Cardstock.

Die cut a piece of white cardstock and a piece of Luxe Gold Cardstock using the die from Adorn It Pocket Accents Die. Adhere the white die cut on gold die cut, offsetting them a little.

Arrange and adhere all the 3 final pieces on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card base as shown using double sided foam tape wherever necessary. Trim off the excess hanging off the edges using a pair of scissors. Adhere gold rhinestones to the die cuts to add finishing touch.

I have split the die cut in half and it completely changes it's look... I have just added a sentiment strip in the middle and added few rhinestones to complete the card.

Faux Stained Glass and Embossing Card

Hello friends and welcome to another day of inspiration..
Today I have a card that has Courtyard Elegance Die as the hero.
I have used only 1 die set to create this card. The outer bigger dies were used for creating the mat and dry embossing. The smaller pieces were used to create a faux stained glass effect.
The stained glass effect looks so cool in real life!

All the coloring was done using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. This color combination is out of my comfort zone and to be honest it took me few tries and to get it to a point where I liked it. I actually wanted to use all the colors of the rainbow  but halfway through I thought it looked too busy in this small design so I only used the red, orange, yellow and light pink.

I have used 3-D Crystal Lacquer for the glassy bits (scroll down for the close-up) I use it with Metal Tip for Adhesive Bottles which helps me in getting in the nooks and crannies and also helps in getting finer lines. It dries hard and non-tacky so even if I stack more cards on top it won't stick to them!
I also added white pearls to spruce up the dry embossing.

Bird Card + Design Team Voting for Heartfelt Creations

Hello and welcome to Heartfelt Wednesday...
Today I am sharing a card that I made using the latest Cottage Garden Collection and I have some simple tips too which will add oomph to a simple card and take it to another level...
It is a very clean and simple card using just a watercolored image, 1 die cut and a scoreboard to add texture to card base.
Tip no. 1 is adding score lines to the card base. It is a great way to quickly add texture and interest to a simple card without taking the focus away from the main image.
Another great tip is to elevate the focal image. It can be done by using foam adhesive but for intricate image like this I like to use multiple stacked die cuts.
3rd tip is to add a drop of black Nuvo drop to the eyes. it is just a small detail but with great impact.
Read till the end for more detailed instructions for this card and full supply list.

Also today Heartfelt Creations have opened the Design Team VOTING for the next DT term. I love working with Heartfelt Creations it is the best design team and I would like to continue my journey with them and I need your help. Cards with Craft Treat Stencils

Hello everyone...
First of all I would like to thank Priya for giving me the opportunity to be a guest designer today for Craft Treat Blog...
I had a lot of fun playing with Craft Treat stencils...I have made a few cards using these stencils

Lets start with the Ganesha card...
20181004_154137
I used the Mandala 2 stencil and inked a piece of white cardstock using Fossiled Amber, Picked raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks. I used the left over ink on the dauber to apply a light layer of ink on the whole background after removing the stencil. Then I placed the Musical Ganesha 1 stencil on the inked background and applied black texture paste using a pallet knife. Once the texture paste was dry I trimmed the cardstock and matted it over a slightly bigger piece of black cardstock with a die cut edge on the bottom. I took a 5" x 7" white card base and adhered a smaller piece of black cardstock on top. Then I layered a dry embossed piece of white cardstock on the black cardstock. I used foam adhesive to adhere the Ganesha panel on this to give it dimension.
20181004_154156
20181004_154222
For my second card I used the Tribal Potters stencil along with a black gel pen.
20181004_154515
I placed the stencil on a piece of white cardstock and used a gel pen to trace along the openings. I shifted the stencil a little to trace all the 3 tribal ladies. Then I used the same gel pen to draw lines and patterns to fill in the traced areas. I filled their dresses and pots with different designs and filled in the face, hands and legs with solid black. Then I layered it on black cardstock to create black border on both sides. For the red border I used Dream Catcher stencil and inked it with candied apple and aged mahogany distress ink to get the ombre effect. I used black and red nuvo drops to add add finishing touch to the card.
20181004_154543
For my third card I have used Dream Catcher stencil to create a shaker card.
20181004_153948
I created the background using Folk Art Background along with peeled paint and forest moss distress ink. Then I watercolored the dream catcher on a piece of watercolor cardstock and used a circle die to cut out the center. Next I flipped over this piece and adhered a piece of acetate and used foam adhesive to line along the die cut shaker window. Next I inked the center on another piece of cardstock, stamped the sentiment in it's center, put some colorful sequins, gems and microbeads on top and closed the previously created shaker window. Then I adhered thin strips of black cardstock on both sides and glued it to the card base. I adhered few gemstones on the featheres to add finishing touch.
20181004_154005
20181004_154047
I have used Folk Musicians and Mandala Stencil for my fourth and last card.
20181004_154325
I used the Mandala Stencil along with shades of blue ink to create the design in the corner. Then I used black ink along with Folk Musicians stencil to ink up the musician on the right side of the card. Next I used a gold pen to create designs and to highlight certain parts of the musician and mandala design. Then I added few gemstones to add finishing touches.

Distress Ink Bleed Coloring

Hello friends & welcome to Heartfelt  inspiration post  Distress Ink Bleed Coloring_pinterest
I have made a card with Distress ink bleed technique for today's inspiration...
I love watercoloring but sometimes I don't have the time or I want a little different look for my images so I use this technique. Distress inks are water reactive inks and they do fun things when they react with water.
I love this technique because it is fun, quick and easy!
This technique is particularly easy if you use MISTI or any other stamp positioning tool but if you don't have one then you can use an acrylic block also but then it will be difficult to use rubber stamp for this technique. However if you are using a photopolymer / clear stamp then it can be done.

In short you stamp the image with any distress ink or you can also use few different colors like I have used Picked RaspberrySeedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks and stamp on watercolor cardstock. I have used my MISTI to stamp my images. Now spray it with water which will spread the ink creating beautiful patterns... If you think the results are lighter then simply repeat the above step again. The more water you spray the more the colors will move and the colors will be lighter and vice-versa. Now the image will be blurred so we have to stamp the image again to get a defined image. At this point you can either use black ink or the same colored inks used earlier depending on the end result that you want. You can also heat emboss it after stamping which also looks very beautiful. For this image I have used WOW Black Glint Embossing Powder so my image glitters and looks very pretty which is hard to capture in pictures.

Scroll down for the supply list & instructions on how to make this card....

But before we move on have you checked out the LIMITED EDITION section of Heartfelt Creations store??? They are retiring a lot of stamps, dies, papers and other products and the deals are very good... Dies are available for $14.99 instead of $29.99!
