Library Thursday

I have not done Library Loot in a long time and this is the first time participating in Literary Thursday Blog Hop.  Since being caught up (for the time being) on my reviews, it seemed like the perfect time to jump in and play.

The Library Thursday Blog Hop is  hosted by Lah at LazyGirl Reads.
Each week, we list which books we've picked up, put on hold, skimmed through at the library. It's a great way to see what other bloggers are browsing through while we are waiting for new titles to come out.

My requested books are ones that I have been looking forward to reading. The problem is choosing which one to read first.  I will most likely begin with The Distant Hours and Virals.

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

My stack is getting a little lonely as I have not been reading as much as I would like to start out the New Year (hard to believe, I know).
There are quite a few books that have received great reviews.  Have you read any of them?  Which one should I pick up first?

Library Loot

Yesterday all I had to do was pick up two items that I had requested.  I gave myself a "talk" on the way to the library about having a large stack of library books waiting at home for me to read so go in, get the book and leave.

Well....the librarian (a friend), told me that she just put out new books 1 minute ago.  To be nice, I had to take a look since she pointed them out, right?

I got that giddy feeling of seeing books that I knew I wanted to read, reached out to pick them up and it was all over.  They came home with me.

Becoming Jane Eyre
Tainted
The Betrayal of the Blood Lily
Burn
The Swan Thieves
Her Fearful Symmetry

Library Loot

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Marg that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

This week I did something a bit different and made a video of my Loot. Now that it is cooler and my huband and sons are not golfing every weekend, the FLIP Video has been free to use. This is only my second attempt at using it so bear with the shakiness and fumbling for something to say!

Ugh, I do not like the sound of my voice, it does not sound that way to me! LOL

Library Loot

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Marg that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

My stacks of library loot are out of control because my local library is closing tomorrow for three weeks (maybe longer) to move into the newly renovated building and I didn't want to suffer withdrawal!
Because I had so many books I divided them up into adult fiction and YA fiction.

From the stack on the right I have a few authors that are new to me:
Allan Gurganus, Georgette Heyes, Michael White, Elizabeth Strout, Philip Hensher, Tim Gautreaux, David Liss and Elle Newmark.

The YA stack has quite a few books I'm looking forward to reading: Waiting For Normal, Jellicoe Road, The Patron Saint of Butterflies and North of Beautiful.

Library Loot

Library Loot hosted by Eva and Alessandra asks us to list what we brought home from the library this week.

I have given up trying to talk myself into going in the library only for what I came for, its just too much fun to browse.

This finally was ready for me to check out. When audio books come in they take time to check over every disc to make sure they are in good working condition. I have been taking hour longs walks in order to listen to a complete disc. If you love this series, I highly recommend listening to it!

These books came home with me too:

This One Is Mine by Maria Semple
They Way We Were by Marcia Willett
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
Disquiet by Julia Leigh

Library Loot

Found this fun weekly event at MizBs. Library Loot is hosted by Eva and Alessandra that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

Most of the books I read come from the Library. Years ago I agreed to be a better steward of our budget by not buying so many books. I still buy books, but ones that I really want to have in my library.

This year I am trying to stick to my reading challenge plans and each visit to the library get a book or five that fits in one of the challenges, plus one or two that just look interesting.

Got any loot to share?
