NinaB Designs Jan 2013 Blog Hop

Welcome to the NinaB Designs* first team blog hop of 2013! We hope you have had a relaxing holiday break and ready to join us for another year of inspirations and prizes!
*NinaB Designs is a product designer for a few paper crafting companies including Spellbinders, Want2Scrap and Penny Black, and The Craft's Meow.

For this month's hop, I challenged the team to create a project with the LOVE theme, which can be interpreted in many ways: Valentine, Anniversary and Friendship. I made two cards for you. The first one uses Penny Black's Sent with Love stamp set. I did the emboss resist on this card with some Copic coloring on the flowers. I first heat embossed with white powder, colored the flower and blended different Distress inks to expose the white background.
PB-Love
I distressed the edges and stitched to a cream cardstock. Some lace, seam binding, buttons and flowers finish this simple shabby card.

For my second card, I went the fun route and made a patterned paper-filled card. I love patterns, don't you? I esp love this collection from October Afternoon. I use my TCM's Beautiful Shelf set on this one. I paper pieced the shelf/cabinet and colored the vase of flowers.
TCM-Love
The sentiment is from Just Sayin' and placed over trendy banners. Some red twine is all it needs.

Here are the products I used for my cards: TCM's Beautiful Shelf, Just Sayin' and Penny Black's Sent with Love, respectively.

Welcome to the NinaB Designs's 2nd blog hop! We had a great time last month and we just want to thank you for your enthusiasm and encouraging words. The NBD team has new projects to show you today featuring NinaB Designs Spellbinders™ Paper Arts (Home Sweet Home and Sewing Elements), The Craft's Meow Stamps, and Want2Scrap bling.

We have added a new twist to our hop. Not only do we have tons of inspiration for you, but we also are joining in the Crafty Friends' challenge that you can participate in. And of course, there will be prizes up for grabs! In addition, I am posting some ATCs for a WORTHWHILE cause. You will find more info below.

I have several projects for you today. First are 2 cards for you today that use Home Sweet Home and Sewing Elements dies. For my first two, I used up scraps of My Mind's Eye papers. I've made similar cards on previous posts, if you want to know how I made these.

I die cut the center the the house body and roof from Home Sweet Home. Here is the negative cut, accented with the heart die cut and Want2Scrap bling.

My second set of projects includes 3 Artist Trading Cards that I made for Want2Scrap and was posted on their blog yesterday. The W2S team members are donating our projects for an auction to benefit a charity that is very dear to all our hearts. I believe almost all of us have been affected one way or another by cancer and its effects. This is one way we can give back even in a small way. I hope you will check out the Want2Scrap blog for more info and spread the word. Thanks, friends!

Pop-up Butterflies

It's spring break here, so I'm a little slow on the posting. I do have tons of cards to share, just have a hard time finding the time to write the posts, with all the cleaning and being outside that seem to occupy my time lately. It's beautiful here in Croatia. My cherry and apple trees are in bloom. My bulbs have popped out from the once frozen grounds. I love it!

I have two cards to show you today that also use up scraps and die cuts. I think these are some of my favorites so far. I have a thing for butterflies and these Spellbinders Wonderful Wings dies are beautiful. The sentiments are from The Craft's Meow's Just Sayin' set.
Butterflies
The papers are My Mind's Eye. I cut strips, glued them randomly (I love that since they came from the same collection, they are already coordinated for me), then die cut them. You can view my older Dehoarding posts using the same technique.
Butterflies1
You can see more dimension here of the butterfly. I love that pop of red peeking through.
Butterflies1detail
Excuse my "distressed" stitching. I'm still a novice when it comes to sewing, so I think my needle needed replacing when I did this.
Butterflies2
Twine, button and lace are the embellishments I used on these cards.
Butterlies2details
I hope I inspired you to use up your scraps. Please share in the comments below if you made something like this. I'm entering this to Moxie Fab's Scraps Challenge. Have a great day!

EP Victorian Garden cards, part 2 (photo-heavy)

Here are some more cards using Echo Park's Victorian Garden collection. But before I go further, make sure you check out my blog contest giveaway HERE. The first one was for The Craft's Meow's recent release using the I've Got Your Number set. The frame is retiredy by Tattered Angels, which was a publication incentive gift. I swiped Memento Ink on the embossed frame to get that effect. The small text stickers are by Cosmo Cricket.

Here are some more simple cards using these beautiful papers.

I love that flourish.

I used The Craft's Meow's Just Sayin' set (sentiment) and Timeless Tags (scroll) on this card.

and some more...
EP-Cards3
