Happy Day Bird

If you're here for the SRM Stickers One Hour Challenge post, please go HERE.

It's been a bit gloomy here with the rain and clouds the last few days, so I was just happy to make this bright and cheery card for today's Friends with Flair with Unity Stamps.

I used my brand new Dear Lizzy papers. The stamps are from the Aug 09 KOTM. It's hard to see, but the bird and banner have glitter on them.

Gratitude = Joy

It's Unity's anniversary week and it's been a fun celebration. The new Cosmo Cricket kits are on my wish list, for sure.

My first card today is for two of the challenges they have going: Love At First Sight and Triple Take. Gratitude = Joy and Feel the Joy are two of my very first Unity kits. The four patterned papers I used are from Webster's Pages, Green Apple and ivory cardstocks by GinaK, button by Papertrey, pearls by Mark Richards.

Make sure you stop by Unity's blog to see more details of their anniversary celebration and a list of today's Friends With Flair hop.

Card #2 is also for the Triple Take using all Cosmo Cricket papers, Going to the Birds and for the Etsy Inspired challenges using images the Bee Things store. This was my inspiration:

And I followed the color scheme of bright yellow, spring green and black on my card. I used the sentiment from the Aug08 KOTM and the bird from the July09 KOTM. It's a bit hard to see, but the sentiment is on a curved little banner.

Two cards, two different styles

Welcome to Unity's FWF! I'm so excited to be able to participate again as I just love my Unity! Have you seen their new blog? AWESOME! Just looking at it makes me happy inside. I like the pics of the beautiful DTs on the side, too. And I can't wait until the "deal of the day" becomes available. :-)

I made two cards, two different styles, today. The first one is cutesy & fun and uses the Believe in Fairytales Store Kit (trees). I just love it and if you don't have a LSS, check out Limelight Papercrafts. I'm not affiliated with them, just a very satisfied customer. The sun is from the A Pocket Full KOTM and the sentiment is from Bevy of Butterflies. The patterned papers are October Afternoon Farm Fresh.

My next card is shabby chic. This was inspired by a sketch on the Papercrafts magazine a few months ago. The big elegant background is Everlasting Romance. I stamped a butterfly from Bevy of Butterflies on the tag and the sentiment is also from the A Pocket Full KOTM. I hand wrote "you."

Have a great weekend, everyone. I'm off to go visiting and maybe some shopping.

Cosmo Cricket Van

Welcome to Unity's Friends with Flair Friday. Please visit Unity's blog for a list of participants and find the flair for a chance to win some yummy Unity stamps. Have you seen the new KOTM sets? I think the new store kit is my favorite. I love that doll house.

I have a simple card for you, using my favorite Cosmo Cricket papers, Nutmeg. I used a quote from Following my Heart Aug09 KOTM. I stamped it with Memento Markers. I just love that quote, reminds me of the graduation speech when my husband finished seminary. The van is chipboard sticker, also a from CC. The cardbase is GKD Chocolate Kiss; the buttons from the Autumn Button Assortment.

I'm dreaming of spring...

Welcome to Unity's Friends With Flair Friday. Make sure you go to Unity's blog for a list of participants and find the flair for a chance to win some Unity goodies! Have you seen the newly released sets? Wow!

It's been very cold here in Croatia, so I felt like making some springy, bright cards. This first one uses the lamp and sentiment from Shine On. The little penguin is by Hero Arts. I'm entering this to the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge to use a touch of green. What's spring without green, right? :-)

Penguin Lamp

Papers: GinaK Sweet Corn, Passionate Pink, Ivory, K&Co patterned papers
Ribbon: Certainly Celery grossgrain
Ink: Memento Black, Passionate Pink
Others: buttons, rhinestones

For my next card, I just love these Farm Fresh papers from October Afternoon paired with a Kraft card base. I used the cute trees, which are colored with Copics, from the Friendship, Love, Miracles KOTM. The sentiment is from Bevy of Butterflies. The ribbon and button are by PTI.

Owls in love and a Lovely Fairy

Thank you, my Unity peeps, for coming to visit. I'm so excited to take part in Friends with Flair again after missing it the last couple of times. Make sure you go to the Unity blog for a list of participants and find the FLAIR for a chance to win some Unity goodies! They have tons of sales this week, so go check it out!

I have two cards to show you today, both using the November store kit, Believe in Fairytales. The first card has the cute owl pair and heart branch. I drew in the eyes and swirly bellies using a Memento marker. The sentiments are from the June09 KOTM. The vines on the right is a free stamp Unity sent me and I can't seem to find the name of it.

Ink: Vivid Brick Red, Straw, Copic marker (for the hearts), Memento Rhubarb Stalk marker
Accents: PTI Summer Sun ribbon, GKD Autumn Button Asst., Fiskars Apron Lace punch

My next card uses the fairy image I love. It's the reason I bought this store kit. I love that sentiment, too.

Snowbody card

Thanks for joining me today for Unity's Friends with Flair. Check the Unity blog for the list of participants and find the hidden flair to get a chance to win some Unity stamps.

I used my long awaited Unity stamp set, the November Store Kit: Believe in Fairytales, for my card. This was a birthday gift that I got 2 months ago and I'm delighted to finally get my hands on them. International shipping sometimes can be frustrating.

Here's my card with the snowman image and the coordinating sweet sentiment. This will be for my hubby, so I had to pick his favorite college team's colors, red and black.

Snowbody

Stamps:
Unity Store Kit Nov 09 (snowman and sentiment), Vintage Borders (music background)
Papers: GKD Soft Sand and Rocket Red, Jolly by Golly papers
Ink: Memento Black and Vivid Brick Red
Accents: GKD Button Assortments, ribbon and lace from my stash.

I have two cards to show you that I made a few months back, but never got to share here. First is a Christmas card with the huge pear tree stamp from the June KOTM. The little bird is by HeroArts. They're both colored with Copics. I'm entering this to Cath's new challenge, Moxie Fab's All Creatures Great and Small.

My next card is something for a sweet little girl. The cupcake image is from the August KOTM and the sentiment is again by Hero Arts.

Butterfly happy

I hope you all had a great thanksgiving. We wished we were with our families in the US, but we are very thankful for our Croatian "family," with whom we spent our day yesterday. I'll make this post short and sweet as we are expecting company later today.

I have another butterfly card to show you for Unity's Friends with Flair. Check Unity's blog for the list of participants. Today's butterfly comes from Unity's Butterfly Beauty set. I stamped it using Kaleidocolor Bouquet inkpad. The sentiment is from July 09 KOTM. I used GinaK Sweet Corn for the base and the DP is by Little Yellow Bicycle, ribbon is by Michael's, brad is by Basic Grey.

Unity Butterfly happy

I have more butterfly cards to show you in the next few days, starting tonight at 10PM CST for the StampTV CSS Blog Hop. I hope you can join us!

Unity meets Cosmo Cricket

Thanks to the generosity of my friends, I have some new Unity stamps that I used for today's Friends with Flair cards. They are so good to fuel my Unity addiction - gotta love friends like that. For a list of participants, go to this thread at SCS or the Unity blog. And don't forget to find the flair for a chance to win some Unity stamps!

My first card uses the Folk Inspired set. The clock is colored with Copics. The patterned papers are Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg, my current favorite papers. The colors are so yummy and I'm so glad I have the matching Copic markers to go with them. The cardbase is GinaK Kraft and the tag is Sweet Corn. The ribbon is by Michael's and button is PTI.

The second card is probably my favorite of the three. I just love that big Plaid Journal Box. The sentiment is by Cloud 9. The papers are again by Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg. Other supplies used are SU Certainly Celery ribbon, PTI buttons and GinaK Chocolate Kiss cardstock.

My last card uses the Jolly Little Winter set and Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly papers. They just work well together, don't you think?

I hope you all have a good weekend, everyone.

Peace Bird

It's Unity's Friends with Flair Friday again. Woohoo! Go >>> HERE <<< to see the list of participants.

I stamped my favorite Unity bird from the July09 KOTM and colored it with Copics. The swirly journalling stamp on the bottom is one of the stamps in the grab brag prize I received last week, so I'm not sure which set it's from, but I love it. I really need to make more Christmas cards and this sort of qualifies :-). I have one holiday Unity stamp which I used for last week's FWF, but I have more coming, thanks to some generous friends! I can't wait.

The patterned paper is by Anna Griffin. The kraft, olive and white cardstocks, peace sentiment (from Vintage Borders) and buttons are by GinaK and the ribbon is by PTI.

I hear an angel singing...

Welcome to UNITY's Friends with Flair Friday. Make sure you check out the list on this SCS thread or Unity's blog for the list of participants this week.

I have two cards to show today using 2 of the 25 stamps I won for being Runner Up in Bro4 challenge. Unity was kind enough to send them directly to Croatia. Thanks so much, Angela!

My first card is a fallish card using one of the Bevy of Butterflies stamps. The background and word border are from my grab brag prize, so I'm not sure which set they're from, but I love them!

Other supplies used: GKD Kraft, SU textured Close to Cocoa and Summer Sun CS, Vivid Straw, Memento Rich Cocoa, GKD Autumn Button Assortment, ribbon by Michael's, MS border punch.

My second card uses the Glorious Angel stamp. When I saw this image, I immediately fell in love with it and I knew it's perfect to pair with the musical score stamp from Vintage Borders. I colored the angel with Copics.

And here's a close up so you can see where I highlighted the angel with a glitter pen.

Other supplies: GKD Soft Sand, Cranberry Tart CS, DP by My Mind's Eye, Memento Rhubarb, pearls, sewing machine.

Holiday Cards, Unity style

Welcome to Friday Friends with Flair. I have two things to show you today, but first, make sure you check out Unity's blog to get the list of participants this week. And find the flair for a chance to win a grab bag of stamps.

Card #1 is a Thanksgiving card that uses the elegant stamp from the Aug09 KOTM: Following My Heart kit to make a background pattern with Vivid Olive ink. The quote is from Something Within. I colored the pearls with Copic R89 to match the papers and doodled the dots on the scalloped border using a white gel pen.

Other supplies used: GinaK Fresh Asparagus, Cranberry Tart and Soft Sand cardstocks, pearls, ribbon from the Holiday Assortment and button from the Autumn Assortment.

Card #2 is a simple Christmas card that can be easily mass produced. I stamped various images from the Stylin' Stars kit and the sentiment from Feel the Joy. I then used my Sakura glitter pen to draw the strings and ribbons. The sparkly elements are hard to photograph, but they are so pretty and so simple to do, too. A button with silver cording on the side finished the project. The card base is Soft Sand.

Ruffled lamps and a recipe

I have two things to show you today for Unity Friends with Flair Friday, but first, make sure you check out Unity's blog to get the list of participants this week. And find the flair for a chance to win a grab bag of stamps. Don't forget Unity is having a sale right now. Check out the Unity blog for more info.

My first card uses my favorite Unity stamp right now, this adorable little lamp from Shine On!. I love to paper piece the shade. I used only my paper scraps for this card. I ruffled the bottom (for the new Moxie Fab challenge) and covered the "mess" with a pretty ribbon. The sentiment is from my Elegant Verses set and I've always wanted to pair these two stamps together. A bow with a flower and button center finished the card.

The next one was my entry to Week 4 Bro Challenge. I used an oven mitt from an old set, Lovin' from the Oven (I think that's what it's called). Again, I used scraps for this project. This Rachael Ray recipe is soooo good and soooo easy to make. I change it a little by adding sauteed chicken (we're meat lovers in our house :-)) and mushrooms. You can go HERE to see the recipe in full. The sketch follows the Card Positioning System this week.

My winning card and another

It's time for another Unity's Friends with Flair. Make sure you check out Unity's blog for the list of participants and find the hidden flair to win some yummy Unity stamps.

I have two cards to show you. The first one was the card I submitted for Week 3's Bro Challenge to use plaid and polka dots together. And guess what? I won Runner Up! I still can't believe it. I was cleaning my stash and found these two scraps of dp perfect for the challenge. I don't know what brand they are. I used paper piecing and Copic coloring on these adorable Shine On! lamps. A little bit of distressing, stitches, punches and button finished the card. The card base is Ruby Red.

The next card is my other attempt to what I call clean & shabby style. Not quite the typical shabby chic as I don't know how to do collages. I like everything to be straight. LOL! I used Birdie Inspiration and Stylin' Stars. Isn't that ribbon gorgeous? That's a local find and it's so silky soft. The card base is Pink Passion. The dps are La Creme by DCWV and K&Co.

Both cards use machine stitching for the Crazy 4 Challenges this week.

It's Friday already?

Then, it's time for Friends with Flair! Make sure you check out Unity Stamps' Blog for the list of participants and find the flair hidden on one of the blogs listed for a chance to win a grab bag of Unity stamps.

Now onto the cards. The first one is pretty clean and simple. I stamped Feel the Joy and the quote from June KOTM on GKD PL Ivory and cut around. The cardbase is from the My Mind's Eye Out & About collection. The GKD Green Apple was punched with MS doily lace.

I love the colors of the second card. I used More Mustard and more GKD Green Apple. The strip of patterned paper is from SEI. There weren't enough mustard colors on the strip, so I colored some images in with a Copic marker. The bird is from the Aug09 KOTM and the quote is from Birdie Inspiration stamped with Craft So Saffron. The ribbon is PTI and button is from my stash.

Friday Flair

Another Friday, another Friends with Flair with Unity! Go to Unity's blog to see the list of participants. Find the Flair and be entered to win some free stamps!

Here are my cards. I made this for my girls' friend who's having a birthday this weekend. The cupcake stamp is from the Aug 09 KOTM and I colored it with Copics. The cardbase is Pink Pirouette and the DPs I've had in my stash forever. The sentiment and ribbon are by PTI.

For the second card, I decided to create a scene using stamps from July09 and Aug09 KOTMs. I used the cloud stamp for a tree, the trunk was hand cut. The cardbase is Bashful Blue, the sun is Summer Sun, tree is Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. I stamped the bike with Ruby Red. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on GinaK Soft Sand, then sponged it.

If you want to see another "scene" card using Unity stamps, go HERE. AND make sure you stop by on Monday as I celebrate the World Cardmaking Day with card makers from all over the world.
There will be some yummy giveaways that you wouldn't want to miss! Check out Cath's post on Moxie Fab World for more info.
