It's Your Birthday!

I'm back to share a card I created for my sister's birthday.  She's my older sister and is turning the big 4-0 this year so I had to tease her just a little!  I thought this sentiment and image were perfect!  lol

Isn't that image great!?  hee hee  It's from Penny Black and is called Best of Luck.  I've had it a while and finally got around to using it.  I love it! :)  The image is pretty wide so I went with a pretty simple design to keep the focus on the image and sentiment.

The image is colored with copic markers.  Sorry, I didn't write them down this time.   I sketched in some grass and added some light blue sky around the image.

Love this sentiment!  I told you I had to tease her a little!  The sentiment is from Catslife Press.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Monkey Birthday Wishes

Hi Everyone!  How has your week been going?  Seems like ours has just flown by.  We went shopping for school supplies the other day so it's nice to not have to worry about that if the baby happened to come early.  I'm now a month away from my due date and everything is going well.  It's hard to believe we'll be meeting our new little one in a month!  The kids start school about a week before my due date so things may be hectic the beginning of September! :)

Today, I thought I would share this birthday card I made with an old stamp from Stampavie from illustrator Rachelle Anne Miller.  It's a really old release and hard to find.  Sorry!  I'm not even sure what the name of the image is so I can't help with finding it.  I mentioned earlier that I wanted to use some stamps that I didn't have time to use when I was on a few design teams so that includes stamps that might not be readily available anymore.

I colored the image with copic markers (listed below) and then masked the image so I could spray the background and floor.

The great sentiment is from Catslife Press.  I always love her sentiments and have always had great customer service.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

MarkerPop and Tina Wenke Designs Blog Hop

A while back, I was contacted by Tina Wenke asking if I’d like to try some of her new Christmas patterned papers.  When I was designing for Stampavie, Tina’s designs were some of my absolute favorite stamps (They still are!) so I was excited to get to try some of her patterned papers, too.

Today MarkerPop is teaming up with artist and designer Tina Wenke to bring you a fabulous day of Tina Wenke inspired Christmas projects.

If you haven't heard of Tina Wenke, here is a little info about her. Tina is an artist and designer who enjoys crafting, too. Her artwork and designs can be found on many different products like greeting cards, stationery, gifts, and of course stamps and paper crafting!  Tina's work is beautiful & MarkerPop is so happy to be carrying her stamp designs (by Stampavie) & Tina also has a gorgeous line of patterned papers available at her online store.

We are so lucky to be hopping with Tina's products today. Each designer will share beautiful inspiration using Tina Wenke stamps & papers.  Make sure to hop along the designer list & see what everyone created today.

I used Tina’s adorable Santa with Children image.  I absolutely love this image!  (MarkerPop does not have this particular stamp in stock, but you can find lots of Tina’s other stamps here.)  Of course, I also used some of Tina’s new patterned papers that you can purchase from her store here.  I love the different patterns and the papers are printed on thick, quality paper.

IMG_2906

I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  I sketched in the base board to separate the wall and floor in the image so I could color them.

IMG_2908

I used a sentiment from Catslife Press.  I love seal sentiments and those from Catslife Press are among my favorites.

Now, let's talk prizes!

Tina Wenke has generously donated a prize of 2 stamps (1 of her Winter designs and 1 Spring design) plus a pack of her Winter Papers & MarkerPop is giving away a $15 gift certificate. One lucky winner will win it all!

Best Witches

I made this card a while back for Whimsy Stamps, but never got around to posting it here on my blog.  I figure I better post it today since it
is Halloween! :)

This adorable little witch is called Hazel.  I think this has to be one of the cutest Halloween images ever.  I just love Sylzia's Zet illustration style!  I used some patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket's Matilda paper pad.  The ribbon is actually cheesecloth that I dyed with a black spray ink.

I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  (I don't remember the colors because I made this card over a month ago.  Sorry!)  I masked the image and sprayed the sky.   Then, I added some shading to the clouds with gray copic markers.

The sentiment is from Catslife Press.  I love their seal sentiments!

Hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween!

I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  I used some patterned papers from October Afternoon's new Witch Hazel paper pad along with some buttons and washi tape from the same line.  I finished my card off with some Halloween baker's twine and a sentiment from Catslife Press.

Happy Easter

I can’t believe it is already April!  The year seems to be zipping by already.  Since Easter is next weekend, I had to ink up this little cutie (Chirpy from Penny Johnson) this past weekend when I was creating my card for my Stampavie post.  It’s such an adorable image!

I stamped my image using tuxedo black memento ink on copic x-press it cardstock.  I chose some patterned from October Afternoon’s Sidewalks line and colored my image in coordinating colors using copic markers (listed below).  I stitched my patterned papers and added a white paper doily and some flowers and pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Then, I finished off my card with a cute Easter sentiment seal from Catslife Press.

Have a great day!

Birthday Wishes

How was your weekend? Ours was pretty good.  It’s been pretty rainy and icky here lately so it was a good weekend to just bake some cookies, hang out as a family, watch a movie, and play a board game . . . a great relaxing weekend.  Hope your weekend was too!

I have this card to share today featuring an absolutely adorable little image from Lili of the Valley called Maisie Two Balloons.  I just love this little cutie!  I used some patterned papers from My Mind’s Eye’s Just Dreamy 2 line.

I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock using tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  I used these maker colors: E000, E00, E11, E13, R12, R14, R17, R27, R46, R89, E33, E35, E37, E29, C4, C6, C8, BG11, BG32, BG34, colorless blender.  I added some baker’s twine from my etsy shop and used some glossy accents on the balloons to make them nice and shiny.  That great sentiment is from Catslife Press.

If you’ve never ordered from Lili of the Valley, they are a great company with great customer service.  I was a very happy customer before I got the opportunity to design for them (and absolutely love getting to design for them!).  They offer free worldwide shipping on orders over L25 which is about $40 and I always got my order in about a week (from the UK to the US).

Hope you have a great week!

Best Witches

I'm having a hard time believing how quickly this month is flying by (the whole year really).  I figured I better pull out this cute little witch image from Stampavie (called Magical Meg) because Halloween will be here before I know it!  She was part of the Christmas release this summer that also had a few Halloween and fall images thrown in.

I colored her with copic markers (sorry I didn't write down the markers today) and cut her out with a rectangle nestability die.  I sponged some antique linen, tea dye, and walnut stain distress inks around the edges while the image was still in the die.  I used some patterned papers from Echo Park's Halloween line from last year and that great sentiment is from Catslife Press (part of their recent release).

Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by!

it's the little things

Last week, I had the chance to create a couple cards using some images from Lili of the Valley.  I shared the little girl card last week and have this little teddy bear card to share today.  I just love this adorable image!  It’s called Little Lorry Bear.  I used some patterned papers from the Lime Twist: Fly a Kite patterned paper pad from My Mind’s Eye.

I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  I used these marker colors: R24, R27, R29, R46, R89, Y35, YR04, YR07, YG05, E53, E55, E57, E31, E33, E35, E37, W3, BG000, BG01, BG32, BG53, colorless blender.

I die cut my image with a circle nestability die before using my air compressor and some copic markers to spray the background.  I added some glossy accents to the balloon to make it shiny.  After stitching my layers, I wrapped some red grosgrain ribbon and some baker’s twine around my patterned paper layers before adhering them to my card base.  Then, I used foam adhesive to adhere my image and sentiment (from Catslife Press).  I finished off my card with some corrugated stars from Close to My Heart and some red buttons stitched with baker’s twine.

Have a great weekend!

{enjoy today}

Hi Everyone!  It's my turn to share a card again today over on the Stampavie Design Team blog and I thought I would share this card I created with the new Blossom Birds stamp from Penny Johnson's vintage collection.  It's such a pretty image and it works really well for non-vintage projects, too.

I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink.  Then, I colored it with copic markers.  I used these copic markers: E31, E33, Y35, Y38, YR16, YG17, YG63, YG67, BG70, BG72, BG75, BG000, R11, R14, colorless blender.  After coloring my image, I die cut it with a rectangle nestability die.  I used some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop paper pad.  I stitched my patterned papers, added a sentiment from Catslife Press and some self adhesive pearls that I colored with a copic marker.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Best Day Ever

I am guest designing with High Hopes stamps for the next three months.  I had the opportunity to design for them in the past so I'm excited to catch up with everyone and, of course, the images are so cute!  Every other Tuesday, there is a challenge over on the High Hopes blog.  This week's challenge is Stars and Stripes (use stars and/or stripes on your card).  I used this adorable image called Time Well Spent.

I used some patterned papers from the Campfire paper pad from October Afternoon.  I stamped my image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  I die cut the image with a rectangle nestability die.

I used these copic markers to color my image: E33, E35, E37, E29, E55, E57, E59, R46, R89, T5, Y35, E00, E11, E21, B95, B97, B99, T7, T9, BG000, BG01, B0000, B000, colorless blender.

I sponged antique linen and tea dye distress inks arounds the edges of my patterned papers, image, and sentiment.  Then, I added some stitching, black buttons, and charcoal baker's twine.  I adhered my image and sentiment with foam adhesive.  Isn't that such a great sentiment!  It's from Catslife Press.

Hop on over to the High Hopes blog to see what the rest of the ladies created and to join in the challenge.  Have a great day!

happy birthday and many more

My daughter turned five years old last week.  When I was deciding what image to use for her birthday card, I came across this Stampavie Birthday Fairy Lee image from Mo Manning and it was perfect!

I paired the image with some patterned papers from My Mind’s Eye’s Just Dreamy 2 line.  I stamped my image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink.  I die cut the image with a petite oval nestability die.  Then, I colored it with copic markers.  I used these marker colors: W1, W3, E33, E35, E37, BG11, BG13, BG18, Y35, R00, R02, R27, R29, R46, R89, E00, E21, E11, R12, colorless blender.  Then, I put my image back in the die and drew around the inside with a black pen.

I stitched my layers together and wrapped some cream crocheted lace and red satin ribbon around them before adhering them to my card base with glue dots.  Then, I added a red scalloped oval (die cut with a petite scalloped oval nestability die) to my image and adhered my image and sentiment (from Catslife Press) to my card with foam adhesive.  I added some prima roses and some greenery punched with a Martha Stewart branch punch.

I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to add a little sparkle to my fairy’s dress and wings and to the stars and sprinkles on the cupcake.

Have a great week!

Congratulations

It seems like this school year is already rushing by.  Before we know it, we’ll be congratulating all those kids (and adults) in our lives who are graduating from school.  The adorable Catgrad image from Stampavie's Mo Manning line is the perfect image for graduation cards.  Isn’t this such a cute image?!

I paired the image with some patterned papers from October Afternoon’s Report Card line.  I stamped the image on Copic X-Press It cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  I used these copic markers to color my image: W1, W3, W5, W7, E51. E53. E55. R27, R29, B34, B37, B39.  I die cut my image with a rectangle nestability die.  I stitched my patterned papers together and wrapped some twine from my etsy shop around them.  I added a few buttons and then adhered my papers to my card base.  Last, I added my image and sentiment to my card with some foam adhesive. That great sentiment is from Catslife Press.

I also wanted to mention the Stampavie design team call in case anyone missed it.  Stampavie is looking for 4 full time designers to add to the design team.  You can find out all the details on the Stampavie blog here.  There are only about 2 more days left to apply.  Good luck!

Have a great day!

Happy Easter

It's my turn to post over on the Stampavie design team blog.  When I sat down to create a card earlier this week for my post tonight, I had a hard time choosing which of the new images to use (there are so many cute new images!).  Since Easter is just around the corner, I decided I had to use this adorable image from Penny Johnson called Easter Chick.  It’s such an adorable image and just perfect for Easter!

I stamped my image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink.  Then, I colored it with copic markers (E50, E51, E53, Y35, Y38, YR16, R43, R46, YG17, YG67, B52).  I diecut the the image with a circle nestability die.  I cut a mask using eclipse masking tape and sprayed the image with a B52 copic marker and my air compressor while the image was still in the die.  I paired the image with some patterned paper from Basic Grey’s Urban Prairie line.  Then, I distressed the edges of my papers with antique linen distress ink from Ranger.  I added lots of stitching and rounded the top corners with a corner chomper.  I also changed the color of my white paper doily by spraying it with some Wheatfields Glimmer Mist.  I added a couple buttons and a sentiment from Catslife Press.  I adhered the image and sentiment with foam adhesive.

Have a wonderful weekend!

thanks for all you do & for just being you

It's been a while since I had time to sit down and stamp.  There are just too many things going on right now and so much I want to get down, but not enough hours in a day.  Today, I thought I would share a card I created for the current Lili of the Valley challenge.  The challenge is to use our favorite colors.  Now, I'm not sure that I really have favorite colors, but I love the fun spring colors in these patterned papers so I went with it.  I used the adorable Rosie Posy image.  I used a sketch from the LOTV challenge a few weeks ago.

I used some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Fly a Kite paper pad.  Then, I stamped my image on Copic X-Press It cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored her with copic markers.  The markers I used are these: R14, R17, R29, Y32, Y35, Y38, E33, E35, E37, E29, E00, E11, E21, R12, YG13, YG17, YG67, G28, BG15, BG18, BG72, BG75, W1, W3, W5.

I used a great sentiment from Catslife Press.  Love that sentiment.  I finished my card off with lots of stitching, some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, some cream lace from my etsy shop, and some pink rhinestones.

Have a great week!

merry everything

If you're like me, you might be still trying to sneak in a few more Christmas cards.   I can't get enough of the adorable Christmas images released earlier this year from Stampavie.  I keep pulling them out to make more cards.  For the card I'm sharing today, I used Penny Johnson's adorable Snowy Cuddles image.  I love snowmen and this is such a cute image!

I paired the image with some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Good Cheer line.  (Love these papers!  I think I need more.  lol)  I colored the image with copic markers that coordinate with my patterned papers.

I used these colors to color my image:  R30, R32, R29, R46, R89, YG17, G28, C1, C3, W3, W5, W7, W9, YR12, YR14, YR18, B000, B01.  Then, I added lots of stitching to my image and patterned papers.  I added some Glossy Accents on the holly berries, flock on the snowlady's hat, and flower soft beneath the snowmen.  I finished off my card with some poinsettias from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The sentiment is from Catslife Press.

The kids and I are baking Christmas cookies today (Friday by the time you read this post).  I am so behind on so many things, but baking cookies and frosting them together is a tradition that we all love.  So, I will be behind a little more, but my kids and I are making memories that we will all cherish and that is what is important.

Have a wonderful weekend!

joy to the world

Have you finished up all your Christmas cards yet?  I love creating Christmas cards so I’m generally creating a few here and there all year long.  I had to use another adorable image from Penny Johnson (available from Stampavie), Decorating Rudolph, for my card today.  Such a cute image!

I colored the image with copic markers and used some patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket’s Jolly by Golly line.  I added lots of stitching and some ribbon, brads, and glitter snowflakes.  I also added a little Glossy Accents to Rudolph’s nose and the holly berries.  The sentiment is from Catslife Press.

Have a great weekend!

joy to you and me

I had the chance last weekend to create a card to play along with the current Lili of the Valley challenge which is Glitter and Glitz.  I have so many cute Christmas images from LOTV that I have not had a chance to use yet so this was a perfect challenge!  I pulled out this adorable Igloo for Two image.  This is one of my favorite images from LOTV!  I love those cute little penguins!

I used some pretty patterned papers from October Afternoon's Good Cheer line (not a new line, but new to me).  I also used some marashino red baker's twine from my etsy shop and some green buttons.

I colored my image with copic markers.  These are the colors I used:
penguins: W1, W3, W5, W7, W9, Y35, Y38, YR12
igloo: C1, C2
sled: E31, E33
presents: B00, B01, YG13, YG17, YG67, R27, R37, R89, R30, R32, R35
sky: B0000
colorless blender

After coloring my image, I added lots of stitching and some twinklets (finely ground glass) to the snowflake I had punched and to my image.  The sentiment is another one from Catslife Press.

Have a great day!

Niki

Patterned Paper: Good Cheer (October Afternoon)
Ink: tuxedo black (memento)

Christmas Wishes

It's hard to believe how quickly this year is speeding by.  I don't know if it's because we have a new baby and are busy with family stuff, but I don't know where the year has gone.  Christmas will be here before we know it!  Today, I thought I would share a cute little Christmas card I created using Penny Johnson's Jolly Holly image.  I love this image!  (Of course, I love all Penny's Christmas images so it's not very surprising that I love this one, too.)

I paired my image with some patterned paper from Echo Park and colored my image with copic markers that coordinate with my patterned papers (colors listed below).  Then, I added lots of stitching, some candy apple red wrinkle ribbon, and some buttons and leaves layered to resemble holly.

I also added some white flock to Santa's hat and coat, some white flower soft as snow beneath their feet, and some glossy accents to Rudolph's nose, the holly on Santa's hat, and the holly on the present.  Copic markers used to color my image: E31, E33, E35, E37, E39, W5, W7, W9, YR16, YR18, Y17, BG23, BG34, YG67, G29, C1, C2, R27, R46, R89, E00, E21, E11, R12, B0000, colorless blender.

Have a great week and thanks so much for stopping by!
