OPI Jade is the New Black

Whenever I decide I like a shade it is usually well past when it was first released.
Jade is the New Black is just one example of that! I have seen so many swatches of this but only
recently wanted it pretty badly. I picked it up when Ulta as doing their BOGO sale.
It truly is a gorgeous green! The formula was great. Super creamy and opaque.
I can't wait to wear it on my toes this summer.

I FINALLY tried it..

OPI's Absolutely Alice! It's not like I have had it since the release, but I was waiting for the "right time" to wear it haha.
I wore this last weekend to my cousin's graduation party. Even that wasn't the right time because it ended up being a miserable day lol. I received this from a lovely MUAer in a swap. I am trying to diminish my makeup stash and was lucky enough to find someone who was willing to swap this for makeup. WIN :)

It was a bit hard capturing the exact color of this polish so I edited it a bit to make them more accurate. I used 2 coats to get the ultimate bedazzle on my nails since it is just a clear base with lots of blue glitter and hints of gold. I feel like the hints of gold make this polish what it is.
It is beautiful!

Also, I know I have been saying I am going to do a giveaway and I AM! I just need to
pick a day and go buy polishes for you when my bak account can handle it haha :)
but I can use some suggestions from you. what would YOU like to see in a giveaway?
Let me know

Pirates of the Caribbean Release NOTD!

So, I was not WOWED by the OPI POTC collection when it first came out, as so many collections
seem to unimpress me these days, but as time goes on I grow to love them! My sister ended up buying the mini set from Ulta the other day. When I was going back and forth between what I wanted to wear on my nails today I decided what they hey, and tried one of the minis!

I chose Skull and Glossbones and added some polka dots to it :)

From 2011-05-18

The application of this was really good. It went on smooth and was perfect in 2 coats.

I saw this polka dot design on tumblr but it did not have a water mark so I do not know who it belongs to!

I did the dots with the back of a sewing needle and my dotting tool.

I used ChG For Audrey and Sally Hansen Insta Dry in Jade Jump

From 2011-05-18

I quiet like it :)

What POTC mani's are you sporting for the release of the movie!?

Sally Hansen Insta Dry Blue Away + My New Ring!

Its raining, it's pouring! Jersey is going to be getting rain ALL week.
Luckily I snapped these pics before it started pouring the other day.

I have been wearing Sally Hansen's Blue Away for the past couple of days. I bought this because I thought it would be close to OPI's WWTC? (which I swapped away becuase I wasn't a fan of the formula.) BUT on my nails Blue Away dried a bit brighter. Regardless, its gorgeous! The formula is like all the other SH Insta dri's. Its pretty opaque in one coat
but I always go for two.

Also, here is one of the coolest rings I have come across

ENjoy the rest of your week :)

Recent NOTD Swatches

Final grades are in & now I can finally relax! I ended up with a 3.7 GPA for my first semester of grad school which isn't too shabby after being out of school for 8 months, and having to cope with my father being in and out of the hospital for a majority for the semester.

I had a good kick off to the summer last night @ my cousins graduation party. Her family is always a good time :)
---------------------
Ok, on to the swatches..This post is going to be quiet picture heavy since I have been a little backed up on my NOTD

Last Friday I attended a Gala for the non-profit organization my Advanced Public Relations class was working with.
I wore a simple black cocktail dress from J-Crew and decided to do a neutral nail, but I wanted to add a little pizazz!
I wore Essie's Jazz (my favorite nude) and added some China Glaze White Cap.

I still believe that White Cap can make any shade look amazing.

My friend is also a nail polish collector and we occasionally borrow a few shades from each other every now & then.
One of the shades I borrowed was OPI Rumple's Wiggin. I am obsessed with this shade and am considering
going to get one of my own. The Skrek Collection has probably been my favorite collection OPI has released.

When then Sinful .99 cent sale was going on MUA kept suggesting getting Mint Apple. It is a gorgeous mint green shade with hints of shimmer. I need to re-do my nails this color again - the first SC polish I painted my nails was shrunk by SV. So when I painted my nails this color I used a SH Acrylic Top coat. huge mistake. it was terrible and make the polish crinkle?? Weird.

So this beauty is definitely now apart of my top 10 favorite nail polishes. This is Sinful Color's Fly Away. Its a gorgeous bright medium blue cream. I. Am. Obsessed. This was the first Sinful I tried and I am really impressed. It was opaque and the wear would have been wonderful if SV didn't shrink it :(

Finally, here is Essie's Haute as Hello. I wanted this so bad last summer and it was such a disappointment for me.
Me and Essie's Neon's just do not play well together. I wasn't a fan of the formula and it ended up being more orange than I had hoped.

Zoya Zara + My Chemical Romance Concert

hello, hello! I hope you all had an amazing weekend and Mother's Day for you US
ladies. The weather was BEAUTIFUL here.

I had been a little occupied Thursday - through Sunday. My Chemical Romance tickets went on sale last November. By the time I found out, the Saturday show was already sold out. Thankfully they added an additional date since New Jersey is their home state :) On Thursday I was playing around and stumbled on some tickets for sale for Saturdays show. By Friday I was able to get in contact with a man, picked up the tickets on Saturday and 5 hours later
I was waiting on line for My Chem's sold out show. It was amazing. However, their Sunday show was 10 x better. The energy of the crowd, the front man - everything was PERFECT.
--------------------
Okay sorry I just had to get that out of the way. Onto my nails.

I received Zoya Zara through last years Earth Day Exchange. The first time I wore it I wasn't thrilled with it. I thought it looked great on other people but I didn't LOVE it on me. I am a believer in second chances though so I gave it another shot. Um, gorgeous! The light purple shade, the green and gold shimmer is just perfection!
I have always been a fan of Zoya's formula - the application is so easy for me. The only thing
that bothers me is the shrinkage with EVERY fast dry top coat. I had shrinkage within a couple
of hours with Essie's Good to Go.

I took photos in a couple of different rooms and I love how it looks different
in the different light.

OPI Funky Donkey

Hello! I hope all of you wrapping up with school are doing well! I know it's crunch time for me which
unfortunately keeps me away from here!

Although, it wasn't the sunniest days the other day I couldn't wait to wear one of my new pretties!
I decided on just doing accent nails so I wouldn't completely waste a perfectly good holo on
a cloudy day.

I paired it with Funky Donkey. A color I hadn't worn in for ever but one I am completely in love with.
It's a near perfect purple creme!

I added a cheetah design with Konad's M57 plate with the special
black konad polish and some polka dots using OPI FD

Essie Watermelon

I was browsing through my friends stash the other day and stumbled upon Essie's Watermelon, a gorgeous bright red-pink shade. I have not had much luck with Essie's in the past. The first one I bought was Jazz which I loved.
I then went on to try Tart Deco which I got because I thought it was a dupe for Haute as Hello (a shade I couldn't hunt down at the time). Tart Deco was a disaster for me. I disliked the application and it ended up drying a, not so attractive orange shade.
This shade gives me hope for Essie!! The application was smooth and easy and the opacity
could not have been better.
This could be the perfect everyday shade for me in the summer!
A day or two later I added some crack to it :)
So help me out guys. If I love this Essie, what other shades by Essie will I love!?

Nail Mail!

With the help of some lovely MUAer's, e-bay, and my own bank account I was able to
obtain some lovely hard to finds and other goodies.
Walgreens and Ulta also had some deals going on.
Through a few swaps I received OPI Absolutely Alice, China Glaze GT, and
Sally Hansen Nail Prism in Pink Rose Diamond
I am really proud of 'IDK.' I got this through my first e-bay auction. It may be a bad
thing but it was an impulse thing!

Bought this from fabulousstreet.com - can't wait to see it on my nubs
to see if it is a dud
Apparently there are 2 versions of this a deeper pink and then this one.
I am glad I ended up with this one :)
and the beloved glitter AA :)
Ulta had a buy 2 get on free deal going on so I picked up some OPIs. I don't really have a lot of OPIs in my collection.
I prefer China Glaze but I really wanted to try some OPI Shades. I went for ones that I don't have a lot of in my stash.
Greens and Oranges are lacking! So I got Jade is the New Black, Green-wich Village and and A Good Mandarin is Hard to Find. I also had a $5 off $10 so these only cost me a little over $12 :)

And then Walgreens was having a sale on Sinful Colors for $0.99!
I only got two since they didn't have the greatest selection
I also picked up SH pacific BLue because obviously I'm a sucker for blues :)
I also borrowed Essie Watermelon from a friend.

Did you take advantage of the Sinful Sale?
