Summer Play Time

Christmas

Each year we have managed to get together for the holiday's.  This year has gone the opposite direction.  We haven't gotten together, and I suppose it was going to happen sooner or later.  My life has taken a different route and it's not allowing me much family exposure.  I hope this will change soon, because I do miss getting together with the other's in my life.

A Stump

This is the day after they started cutting the big elm tree back.  Today, it's only stumps the size you see in this picture, because they came back and finished the trimming.  Actually, I consider it more than trimming, down right cutting it down would be more to the subject.  Either way the stately elm tree is now just stumps and will probably continue to rot.

Healing

Since my last post on my eyes I have completed the efforts to get my eyes back to working order.  It's a great thing to be able to see once again.  I am going through the healing stages of the surgeries, and am glad to be in that portion of the process.  I must admit that the "eye drops" have given me some misery, but very soon, I will have that over with as well.  If you are a family member has "cataracts", then make sure the effort is made to get help before they get too far advanced.

Just A Few Miles

Fear gripped my heart this morning as I saw the wire flash come across the web page I was on.  Just a few miles away, my son works at one of the shipyards, that handles the Navy ships on a daily basis.  I immediately contacted my grand daughter to find out which one her dad worked at.  I am thankful it wasn't at the one where he worked.  I'm sad because of the loss of lives at the shipyard in Washington DC.  This is a cowardly act on the part of someone who thinks they have been mistreated.  If in fact, there is another shooter, which has been reported possible, I hope he is caught as soon as possible. 
My heart, prayers and thoughts are with the people who have lost a family member and to those who have been injured.  Only by the grace of God, was I not a mother who possibly lost her son, today to this horrible act.

Storms

Once again our area has been attacked with a disaster.  Last nights storms spawned tornadoes that took lives and destroyed homes as well as businesses.  Today the DFW area of Texas is still reeling from this onslaught of Mother Nature.  Our prayers are with the victim's and their families.

The Last Part

I've always considered the last part of life to be demeaning.  It is a slide downhill for the elderly and they loose dignity along with the functions of their bodies.  As I embark on this era of my life I find that there's nowhere else to go.  Sad as it may seem, I must consider the eminent future of my demise.
Growing up I wanted to get older, so I could have the benefits of being an adult.  Today, those benefits are come and slowly going.  I've had the responsibilities of being an adult and now look toward the future of loosing most of my responsibilities, because of digressing age.  This is scary but what's even more scary is the eventual end.  I fear this thing called "death" and wish there was a way to bypass it.  Somehow, I know there is no effort I can make to be rid of the horrible fate.  So, here I sit, fearing and wondering what the next moment will take me to?
