Lost Family

We lost a member of our family, last month and he will be sorely missed.  My brother in law, Don passed away with cancer, and we have a hole in our family.  

Can you Imagine?

 

Those were the days when I could look good in my clothes.  Now, I just try to hide in my clothes, with all the fat and wrinkles, I have accumulated.  When I look in the mirror, I can't see anything that resembles this person here.  Being old is not funny, but I guess it's better than being dead.

Prayers Please.....

Our family has another person, who is experiencing health problems.  This comes in the form of cancer and I'm sure you all know what that means.  My sister's husband, has been diagnosed with throat cancer, and is beginning his journey, through all the processes and treatments, needed to eventually remove the tumor. 
Being unable to eat very well, he has already lost a large amount of weight, with the average of 4lbs. a week.  It's a good thing he had the extra weight to lose, but it has made him very weak.
Please, lift him and my sister up in your prayers, for healing and a quick recovery.......I thank you so much! :)

Trees

Soon the trees will be full of leave again.  Spring is here and they are budding like crazy.  My sinus is giving me fits from all the pollen that's flying around in the air.  I have got a head full today, and the man next door just mowed his lawn.  Talk about adding insult to injury!

Snow

 

Twice in one week we have had snow.  Now, maybe people in the eastern states are accustomed to this, but not us Texans.  We don't like much snow, and are glad when the sun comes out to melt it.

Hello, My name is Christie. I am 25 years old and a full-time college student. Over the past 2 years I have worked hard to lose roughly 140 lbs, down from 308lbs (my highest weight.)  While I am very happy with my results and healthy, I feel as if I am trapped in the wrong body.  With that being said, I have decided to under-go body contouring surgery to remove about 20-30lbs of loose skin which hangs on my body. Though my pictures may seem as if I look normal, two Spanx and skin tight leggings I wear almost daily assist in tucking and hiding all that lose skin. Since I am a full-time college student, studying and preparing for a career in the medical field, most of my funds go towards paying for my education. I save what I can, however emergencies have occured and I have been forced to dip into my savings. I know there are many other people in the world who deserve your donations more than myself, but I would be greatly appreciative of donantions from anyone who understands my story and mindset.

Day After

I'm sure all who celebrate Thanksgiving were full of good food, yesterday.  They either made it, went to a cafe, shelter, or family get together to enjoy the feast.  I for one was the cooker, and then when I ate, I made a glutton of myself and was miserable the rest of the day.  I really didn't want anymore to eat the rest of the day even though there was pumpkin pie, made fresh the day before.
Today, I have had a turkey sandwich and plan on a good meal, later this evening.  Thank God I'm not crazy enough to be out there fighting with the idiots who are looking for good deals this "Black Friday".  I'll just take the easy way out when shopping for Christmas this year.  It's the same as several years before, since I've been online with internet help.  Gift cards are much easier to get and the person receiving them, can get what they want.  If they return their gifts then it's their own faults.

RIP Robin

Hollywood, will feel the loss for years to come with the death of "Robin Williams".  His funny witt and antics keep audience's rolling in their seats.  It's hard to realize that the demons which attack the sanity of some people are real and they suffer horribly.  It's sad to see this happen to someone who gave so much to others.  Maybe now he can rest in peace.  Here's to you Mork, na no, na no!

Dance

Two left feet describes many people, who wish for more.  They can be living anywhere and still will need the help of a dance teacher.  The people in this area can sign up  for private dance lessons in santa monica  and get on the road to dancing success.  Why wait any longer and be standing there like a wall flower, when you can have the fun you deserve?

Not Again

It seems as though my life is always full of people who just don't stay around very long.  Meeting a person who you find full of the things that you want to be around and then them leaving you after you get accustomed to having them around is hard to deal with. 
Yesterday, we found out that my partner of 1 year, may have throat cancer.  His blood pressure is high and the doctor raised the level of his meds for that during the same visit.  COPD is also a factor of this health problem which he developed recently.  I have no choice but to stand with him during this awful time.  At the present he is feeling the effects of finding out and accepting what is.  I can't be anything but close by to support him, when he needs me.  Loosing someone so soon in the relationship is not going to be a good thing.  I hope he can beat this problem and be healthy so we can be together for a long time.

For the Babies........

I like to crochet for new babies of the family and friends, it's my gift to them when they have their baby showers. I find out what gender their having(boy or girl) and make a blanket for it.  All the patterns are my own making. I don't read patterns, unless I really want something I see. My grandmother taught me how to do crochet without a book. My mother can crochet with patterns from the books.  I haven't mastered that feat as yet.

My Man

Sat for 3 hours in the ER last night with my man, to make sure he would be ok.  He had high BP and was sick to his stomach after they gave him some meds.  It took several minutes for his BP to come down, and during that time, he was throwing up all that was in his stomach.  They had to give him something for the nausea as well. 
Now, I wonder if the BP meds will cause him to have problems with our private times as a couple?  Right now we are just trying to get his body accustomed to the meds and his stomach settled.

My Eye

I just can't seem to get things right when it comes to my health. I took 2/500mg antihistamines last Sat. when I had a head full of sinus.  I was in a hurry to get ready for work at my part time job.  I grabbed 2 pills out of the bottle and took them in hopes of being better once I drove in to work.  During the drive my BP shot up and I popped a blood vessel in my right eye.  Talking about the fear of God!  When I got to work, I casually looked in a mirror to see if I was looking decent.  That's when I saw the blood under the membrane in my right eye.  Realizing that I felt a bit unsteady and woozy, I went and sat down for a few minutes.  Still feeling that way an hour later, I took off work and went to the ER at a local hospital.  They reminded my of my age and how the vessels get thinner with age.  Certain meds were recommended and I was released.  Well, I purchased these meds and they are not doing a real good job of handling my allergies.  I still catch myself with sneezing, headaches and runny nose.  So, I guess that since the eye is involved, I will need to have my BP checked and possibly get on meds for that?  I still feel unsteady and that's not a good feeling.  I also feel my pulse beating much harder that it once did, which I'm sure will be because of age.  Damn it!  Getting old sucks, but it's better than the alternative. :(

Winter

It Snowed

Here you see the full effect of the snow we had two days ago.  Yesterday, the weather temps warmed up enough for some of it to melt.  As of this morning we are looking at the ground once again with snow still in the driveways and such.  Temps today, should get rid of most of the snow and give us some relief from the cold.
