The next basement has been dug. Across the street, days ago... and cement poured, a new foundation. (See the scaffolding of the house to the right? It's being clad now. Already, already, workers are on to the next house.) Yesterday vertical forms were installed



and today the cement pumper, a preying mantis, unfolds itself



preparing to swing over these... then the first yard of cement will flow down.



A cement truck has labored up the hill to this job site to supply the giant arm and three trucks are queued up around the corner to take the place of the one before it in their turn. Today upon the new foundation there will be walls.
