Celebration At Fussy and Fancy

Time for a new challenge at Fussy and Fancy.
Our theme for the next 2 weeks is
Celebrations!

My card started with a base of already embossed panels
from David Tutera purchased at Joann's Fabrics.
Not only are the panels embossed, but it has the circle cutout at the top.

I stamped a sentiment from SU Occasional Quotes within the circle.
I die cut the ring around the outside edge by using
two different dies, one inside the other to give me the pretty edge you see.

I bought a new die set of tiny butterflies a month or so back
and cut two from a shimmery paper 'Lichen Aspire Petallic'.
Roses and leaves were added to finish.

The Fussy and Fancy girls would love to have you join us,
even though our name is fussy and fancy,
your cards don't have to be to join in!

Pamper Your Pets

It just so happens that I am the hostess for our next challenge at
Fussy and Fancy
and chose the fun theme of
'Pamper Your Pets'.
It can be ANY pet you have...birds, fish, you name it!
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

For my 'pampered' pet
I made a French Poodle card!

I had a negative left from a poodle
I must of cut from my Cricut at some point.
I thought it would be fun to use that with a bit of 'French' paper
behind the negative.

I used my Cricut to cut an Eiffel Tower, added a ribbon rose,
leaves and a feather.
The sentiment is from a Sizzix stamp set.

We would love to have you join our challenge at
just because our name is fussy and fancy
your creation doesn't have to be as long as you follow the theme!
Hope to see you there!!

May Birthday

The challenge at Fussy and Fancy is being hosted by our talented
'Darlene'
and she has chosen the theme
'Pink, Posies, and Pearls'.
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

I once again was able to incorporate a few things from my stash!

I embossed a panel of ivory card stock using an
Elizabeth EB folder 'Spring Leaves'.
This is such a beautiful Eb folder that I seem to
have covered most of it,  which I seem to be famous at doing...lol!

From my stash I pulled an already die cut, I am thinking it is a SW die
and a digital image of a mason jar (I have a thing for Mason jars) I had purchased eons ago!

In my little bag of 'pink' goodies were the rolled flowers I had made,
the little striped flower and the butterfly, along with the 'May' ticket.

The white branches and the happy birthday (from The Cutting Cafe)
were laying on my desk and seemed to fit well on the card!

A few pink pearls were added.

Make sure to visit at Fussy and Fancy and see all the beautiful
creations the Design Team has made, they always outdo themselves.

Fancy Folds/Shapes at Fussy and Fancy

A new challenge begins today at the
Fussy and Fancy blog and the lovely Beth is our hostess.

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

Beth has chosen Fancy Folds or Shaped cards as the theme.

I certainly had a plan for this challenge,
a plan that I just didn't have the time for...sigh.

So I went with a super 'Easy Z Fold' card,
or maybe it should be called a 'half Z' lol!

To make this card, it is just a regular A2 card, with the front
folding back on itself, a 2 1/2" x 5" panel is added to the front.
On the inside you ad a slightly larger panel
and just line it up with your front panel with a bit of edge showing
so when it is closed you just see a bit showing..easy.

One thing I love about the FAF challenge is that I get to use whatever supplies
I have as long as it fits the theme.
I try to use things up, or pre-cut things or things that are just sitting on my desk.
For this card I used a strip of 'Dazzles' for the front giving a lot of metallic sparkle.
I embossed the front panel, then added
a few die cut flower vines
and white and silver flowers from my stash
(and from my friend Terri) and glittery brads for the centers.
A silver Dazzle butterfly was added to black card stock,
then fussy cut out.

The inside was matted with black card stock (as mentioned above)
and a 2 1/2" x 5 white card stock stamped with a sentiment.
One of the same flower vines was adhered along the inside panel.

Here is the actual 'Z' shape of the card.

Now make sure and pop on over to the
Fussy and Fancy challenge blog and see all the beautiful inspiration there!

A Pocket Full Of Spring

It is that time of the month once again for a new challenge at
It is being hosted by our lovely and talented Anne
and she has chosen the theme
'Springtime'.

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

For my creation I made a very colorful card using things
from my scrap bags.

I started with a distressed candy hearts background I had rejected from
another project, and ended up covering most of it up
with a 2nd distressed designer paper.

I popped up a little 'pocket' and filled it with some 3D stickers I
received from a friend (thank you Terri).
they are actually very shiny and sparkle IRL.

In my bag of yellow scraps, I found a die cut bow and a little bunny
which I also was able to use, along with a bit of
a grass die cut!

This is a bit of a different card for me and I am not sure how
'Fussy and Fancy' it is, but I think whomever I send it to,
it will cheer them up!

Take a 'peek' over at the Fussy and Fancy challenge
to let the Design Team inspire you, they always, always have
totally gorgeous work,
and remember, just because our name is
you don't have to be!

Spring Bird

Fussy and Fancy
is back with our second challenge for the year
after our long holiday break
and let me tell you it feels 'good'
to be back and getting my 'fussy and fancy' mojo going...lol!

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

Our theme for the next 2 weeks is 'ribbons and lace'.

One of my paper crafting New Year's resolutions was to use  (or try)
as many of my paper scraps (snippets) and pre-cut, pre-stamped things I could.
so, my entire card with the exception of the ribbon and pearls of course,
came from my scrap bags.

The background embossed piece is one I had embossed and never used,
I added a white frame, as that die is one that when you cut it you get
about 5 different size frames, leaving me plenty more to use.
I stuck a tiny snippet of lace
just inside the bottom of the frame...can you see it..lol?

Next I added a birdhouse and tulips, both rejected from a previous project.
The bird is a die cut that while a group of 'us' girlies were at at a
friends house and she had this die and cut each of us one,
I have since bought the die myself from Cottage Cutz.
To finish I simply added pearls and ribbon (bow) from my monthly ribbon club at RRR.

We would love to see your lace/ribbon cards at our
Fussy and Fancy challenge
and don't forget to pop on over and see what my teamies
have to inspire YOU,
and remember, the FAF girls are 'fussy and fancy'
but you don't have to be!

Wintry Angel Christmas

The challenge at Fussy and Fancy

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

is being hosted by our lovely and talented Jules and she has chosen the theme
'Fairies/Angels/Winter'.

Our sponsor is Lawn Fawn.

My fellow teamie and friend 'Dar'
and I recently purchased two pads of metallic paper pads
and split them between us.
The papers are beautiful and that is what I used for my
gorgeous die cut angel.
The die is Tutti Designs Flying Angel
While Dar was here visiting me in August,
she brought all her Tutti dies and I borrowed
this die at that time and here it is!
I just love it and it is on my list to purchase!

However, I first embossed a snowflake background,
then used the new Nuvo Pure Platinum Mousse to rub over
the entire embossed area.
I wish you see the shimmer in person, it is gorgeous!

I mounted that on a piece of metallic card stock.
Gold flowers and die cut leaves were also added.

I stamped a sentiment in Versamark,
then embossed in a gold EB powder.

Now here is where things get interesting.
I used the same 'Mouse' (Pure Platinum)
and rubbed (with my finger) over the embossed sentiment,
then took a dry baby wipe and 'polished' it up...so pretty!
The sentiment was then die cut out.

So pop on over to the Fussy and Fancy blog
to all the Design Team has to inspire YOU!

Fancy Folds

The Fussy and Fancy challenge
is being hosted by our lovely and talented Annie
and she has chosen the theme
A Different Fold/Shape.

Our sponsor is Wild Orchard Crafts.

I have an entire notebook of 'fancy folds, but do you think I could locate it?
Not to be....so I went to my favorite place for inspiration
'Pinterest'
and found this
'Circle Side Step' card Tutorial HERE.
I didn't post the tutorial here because number one
it's not my tutorial
and
number two
she has a wonderful and easy picture  tutorial to follow.

I cut a 6 1/2" circle on the Cricut Explore
making things pretty simple
then just followed the directions from there.

I cut a second 6 1/4" circle to use as my background.
I simply cut it apart to fit each piece.
The back of the card is covered as well.

I die cut a doily and a wreath (twice)
for my center 'attraction'.
All of my papers used are 'snippets' from my
scrap bags!

Tiny Roses were added along with a few holly leaves and berries.
the berries were die cut using red glitter paper snippets.

I added a doe and fawn and a few pine trees to finish.

It was a fun challenge, one that made me
'think outside the box' as they say,
pushing me to get a bit more creative.

beautiful creations the design team has to offer!

Shades of Autumn

The challenge at
Fussy and Fancy
is being hosted by our very talented and creative Jo
and she has chosen the theme
'Shades of Autumn'.

Out sponsor is Wild Orchard Crafts.

I love Autumn
(well most of the time, once the leaves fall it's kind of 'ugh' then,
not near as much fun raking them as seeing them in all their glorious colors)!!

But I also love to create for the Fall months,
So many pretty colors to work with!

This card came together very quickly
by using a few of my favorite die cuts (listed below)
and flowers I bought on clearance this Spring.
Thought it was about time to use a few
put together in layers along with a few 'neglected' brads!

I added a strip of burlap form my stash on a newly
purchased EB folder called 'Heather's Lace'
of course I managed to cover most of it up
with my flowers and leaves.
A little birdie (can you see him?)
was added that I had snipped off another die
and saved for further use, guess this was it...lol!

Favorite Things

Our challenge at
is being hosted by our lovely and talented Gina
and she has chosen the theme
'Our Favorite Things'.

Our sponsor is Wild Orchard Crafts.

I have so many favorite things
I would had to have a card as big as a house to use them all..lol!

So I just decided to go with a few!
I chose pretty designer paper, a doily, flowers
(a Rose in particular),
butterfly, basket and of course the color PINK!

I have a pretty pink layer of SU card stock under my designer paper
then a pink doily I already had cut, along with a white basket.

I added a very BIG Rose and a few other flowers
and a butterfly and sentiment from my stash.
An easy mailer? NOT, but this can be a personally hand delivered card..lol!

That pretty much sums it up!

Wherever You Go

New challenge starting today at
Our theme is
Let's Fly Away
Things With Wings/Holiday Destination
and being hosted by our lovely and talented Eileen,
sponsored by Fresh Brewed Designs.

I pulled out an old sentiment stamp from Unity.
One that has never seen ink until now.
Actually it isn't even ink, I used Versamark
and a Sparkle N Sprinkle fine detail black embossing powder.

I also used my Cricut Explore to cut an Eiffel Tower.
I love the detail it has.

The rest just came together with bits and pieces I pulled
from my stash.

Be Always Blooming

I am the hostess this week at the
Fussy and Fancy challenge blog
and I chose the theme
'A Walk In The Garden'.

We have a special  gift voucher this week for one lucky winner and it is to:

You all know how I like digging in my bags of pre-cuts and scraps
and that is just what I did for this card.
I won't be able to list where each piece came from as I haven't a clue..lol!

I did use a beautiful embossing folder from
Cuttlebug Preserves set.
I don't know about you, but I decided I love to emboss a
panel, then adhering it to the card front
verses just embossing the front of the card.
I think you get a much neater embossed look that way.

I used up the last of a couple of pansies and a few purple flowers
I had on hand (though they look black).
A few greens were tucked in and a cute little birdhouse as well!

The butterflies came from my butterfly 'bag'
(yes, i even have a scrap bag of butterflies)!

The ribbon is the latest from Really Reasonable Ribbon
with a tiny little heart tied on.
The sentiment I stamped from a Flouishes set.
'Always Blooming'.

Celebrate

When this posts I will be gone on a weeks vacation!
The first week long vacation my hubby
has had in over 15 years!
So if I don't get around to visit you while gone
I certainly will when I return!

The new challenge at
Fussy and Fancy is being hosted by our lovely Sheryl.
she has chosen the theme
Lace and Flowers.
We have the perfect sponsor which is

Once again I made my entire card from things
from one of my 'scrap' bags of pre-cuts and such.
This all came from the 'lavender' bag,
the tiny paper lace doily, the heart paper locket, last little Rose, the image and the 2 butterflies .

I used a lace doily embossing folder for the card base.
The ribbon is some I died with re-inkers several years ago.

The celebrate tag is a G45, I found a little lavender pin,
so I pinned it onto the ribbon.

I did add a bit of 'wink of stella' to the image
which I am sure you can't see in the picture.

Take a peek at the
Fussy and Fancy blog as the design team
has done an outstanding job (as always) of creating
to inspire YOU!
