Around tuit

I finally got around to it and framed Stitches in Sterling. It is a brushed silver frame and sets off this piece nicely.
Then, I finished stitching the Stitch n Zip gift. This is a wild one and done in all Kreiniks and Vineyard Silks. I then lined the inside with some Ultrasuede to cover the back of the stitching.

Tomorrow I will resume the Lacquered Leaves.

Another finish

Tonight I finished Stitches in Sterling by Nancy Cucci. I took out a mistake I made last night, and was able to finish the last few sections. The two bottom left darning patterns are both worked in Perle Cotton and Kreinik. The lower right block is supposed to have my initials and year but I changed that. I also changed out the crystal rhinestone for the duller pearl in the very center block of the beaded box. I felt there was so much glitz that I wanted this instead. Thanks to Nancy for allowing me to blog stitch this piece.

A few more beads

The top row is done and so is the second row of beads--those hearts. Below that on the left, I put in the middle box, and finished the bottom left one as well! I still did some chatting but tried to get a lot more beading done instead of laughing tonight. There are three boxes in the beaded box to finish and then the two lower left and far right darning patterns. This is moving right along I think!

Two more boxes

I finished filling in the lower right diagonal darning pattern. As a reminder, the white is Pearl Cotton and the silver is Kreinik. I then did the heart darning pattern under the beaded box to your left. We did a lot more stitching and a lot less laughing tonight! We were all still talking a lot, but more focused on progress too!

Tuesday stitching

Tonight at stitching group I worked on the Nancy Cucci piece.  I started by doing the first pass on the box on the bottom row, second in from the right.  First, the DMC pearl cotton is darned in and then the Kreinik #8 went in.  There is more on this pattern, but I skipped up to the center beaded boxes and started putting in the beads in the third box from the left, alternating pearl beads with crystal ones.  this box is about half done.  Pretty good progress for all the laughing we did tonight.  We somehow got started talking about weddings and bridesmaids dresses we had worn and it was downhill from there!  LOL

Some darning, some beading

I finished the middle section on the right in another pattern by laying the Kreinik from side to side and then using Perle Cotton to couch it down in a pattern. Then I beaded the inner boxes from the left, number one with Magnifica, and number two with long iridescent bugle beads.

Stitches in Sterling update

The top right box is done in alternating rows of the Kreinik and Perle Cotton, and then the L shape next to it above the box as well. Once I complete the box below these two, I will start beading the center design as I should be past catching my threads on the beads when working down.

Darning along

Tonight I completed the bottom left segment darning in diagonal rows of Perle Cotton and #8 Kreinik. Then I started the top right section working in vertical rows for the white Perle Cotton and not quite completing the diagonal rows of # 8 Kreinik. The speckled canvas adds even more shine to this piece and this is very striking.

Established borders

Tonight I worked on the right side borders and boxes. Everything to the right of the threads is boxed in. The overall size is about 7 x 7. A few more boxes on the left and finish the outside border and we will filling in all that space.

More squares

Tonight I worked more boxes around the outside of the 3 x 3 box. The top measures about 7 3/4 across the top. This part of the design is being worked in the Kreinik #12. Very sparkly!

PS: I am glad so many of you like the Lady Carolyn's Fan piece! It is stunning and a great piece by the designer. I enjoy working on it as much as you enjoy seeing it!

Boxes

I worked on Stitches in Stirling at stitch group and have all the inside boxes completed. This now measures 3 x 3 inches. The camera is picking up the silver flecks in the canvas as well. Again, so far this is all Kreinik fiber and the inner boxes are stitched in #12.

May I introduce the newest in the rotation?

Tuesday is stitching group night and the Roses & tassel is quite large to tote around, so I framed up the canvas and started on Stitches In Sterling by Nancy Cucci. Thanks to Ms. Cucci for her permission to blog stitch this piece. Doesn't this just look like a piece I would do? It is worked on 18 count white canvas with silver flecks.
The design begins in the center by creating the box using Kreinik 1/16 ribbon in 001HL. Next I moved on to filling in the center of that box with smaller boxes using Kreinik #12 in 001HL as well. There are several different stitches, beads and then the center jewel all adding glitz to this piece.
