Kirk & Hamilton

The last shopping purchase!  This is a Kirk & Hamilton canvas and a partial of the threads for this design.  I have set it aside for now as there isn't a deadline on it.  I got it at Cabbage Row Shoppe in Charleston.  It is going to be a present and am not sure if it will be a pillow or framed yet.

Filling in threads

I picked up threads for the next three projects that were not already in my stash.  All the Splendor is replenishing stash as these are the skin tones I use the most.  I added two more sets of 9" Evertites to the basket as well!

Some shopping

While on our trip, I stopped at several shops!  Above is a box of tacks and a new puller.  I generally use staples but can't take all my tools when I travel, so I picked these up to frame up a piece while on the road.  I purchased these at M's Canvashouse in Lexington, KY.  If you get a chance, do stop in.  The shop is full of wonderful canvases and of course a lot of threads.  One entire room is walled with threads to choose plus there are more in the main area of the shop.  Lots of accessories and beads by the tube or in bulk and you can fill your own tubes as well.  I also picked up a book which is for another day.  The gold flecked, red, and blue 18 count canvas are all for upcoming projects.  The white Congress cloth is for an upcoming Loretta Spears project.  These were all purchased at Sandy's X-stitch on the Go in Hendersonville, NC.  I also had her get me the latest additions to the Entice and a current Silk Lame Braid color card!  These will be used a lot in my stitching room!

Library building!

I picked up 4 new books on my travels!  A Book of Stitches by Eileen Bennett, Desert Island Stitches by Carole Lake & Michael Boren, Ins & Outs Interiors and Exteriors Plus, and Bling by June McKnight.  I have already spent a lot of time going through them.  Sorry, I did not buy them all in one shop but one in each of the several shops I visited!

The Enriched Stitch

I was in Connecticut this last few days and on the way there, we stopped at The Enriched Stitch in Wilton, CT.
www.enrichedstitch.com.
Suzie Vallerie is the very pleasant and friendly owner and the shop is a new one and now on the list for me when we travel that way now.  She has a huge thread collection along with many beautiful canvases.  While there she had a Jody trunk show with a great sale on those too!  I think it was buy four get one, but don't quote me on that....should have written it down.  I picked up several threads for an upcoming piece along with some 18 count canvas.  I recommend you stop by and visit the shop.....you will love it!
