Stitch Winter

I received this great book--Stitch Winter for my birthday.  I have had a chance to go through and enjoy all of the great ideas for "winter" stitching.  The book is distributed by Little Shoppe Canvas Company and created by Stacey Tombros....Your shop can get it for you!

Creativity unleashed

For my birthday, DH always gets me books. Tonight I am sharing one of the them with you. This one is by Helan Pearce called Beaded Dimensional Embrodiery. This is her second book with the first one being Dimensional Embroidery. There are many projects with excellent photos and instructions. A couple of the projects are shown below.

This lacy design is created with the leaves, flowers, berries, acorn, and then settled around the butterfly. It is worked in a variety of threads but all in one colour tone. This and the one below involve a great deal of stumpwork.

This project is called Twisted Vine which has vines, tendrils, leaves and flowers worked and set on a pink silk satin. Each of the shapes are worked and then arranged on the background, and the tendrils are added after.

I have enjoyed cruising this book and have lots of ideas from the ideas presented. I give this one a five (out of five)!

Merry Christmas to me!

Do you have Trish Burr's Long and Short Stitch Embroidery? It is the book in the background and I bought it a while ago. I do wear a bib while cruising this book to prevent drooling from getting on the pages! I refer to this book often when doing stumpwork as it has great diagrams and photos, along with several great projects. But, the newest book added to my collection is in the foreground! DH bought this for me for Christmas! Like the Long and Short book, this one has sections on materials, techniques, tips, stitch glossary and projects! Projects like a camellia, an iris, a rose, an amaryllis, anemone, a poppy....just to name a few. So, if you will excuse, I am off to find the bib and drool for a while.
Oh, and yes, I did more background tonight on the Georgian Rabbit Angel!
