Cathedral Framed

Cathedral, my version, much modified, by Kurdy Biggs is framed.

 

Finished!

This is my finished version of Cathedral by Kirdy Biggs.  If you look back at the original design you will see that I only did the stitches for the center out to the Crescents.  The four corners are also her stitches.  The other stitches I added as well as all of the bead and their placement.

 

Crescents all around

I have added crescents over the eight point stars.

Then a few eight point stars....you can see the travel threads now but you won't later.  Also not in the chart.

 

A few Amadeus

I have totally deviated from the chart by adding 4 Amadeus.

 

East and West

I added the East and West designs.  I am no longer following the chart!

 

North & South

I am going to fill in the four corners and a few other spaces before I decide to rip out the Jessicas.  

 

Done?

I am not happy with the Jessicas as I expect a perfect circle, which they are not...I have stitched and ripped  and ripped and stitched.  Even got a second opinion and can't get these to be a perfect circle.  I am moving on and may just rip most of them out again.  

 

Jessicas

Crescents and

I added Crescents and more to create spokes.

 

Getting started

The center area is all worked with three strands of Threadworx overdyed floss.  The crescents are worked in three shades of Silk Lame' Braid petite.

 

Next up!

 

I pulled this from my stash.  Cathedral Notre Dame by Kirdy Biggs Threedles.  I am changing-the canvas color to blue, and the threads to ecru and white.  I have pulled several and added some Silk Lame Braid Petite in for shiny.  I will also add some beads as needed.  I have been studying the chart and plan on making some changes to it as well.  Stay tuned for this voyage!
