Hello!

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a card using the Doily Tag and Hello dies ;-)

This card didn't take too long to put together, especially as I knew I wanted to use up some of my inky panels. I die-cut the Doily Tag shape out of a bright, inky piece, popped out all of the negative bits and pieces and added some foam tape to the back, ready to adhere to my card base.

I noticed that my card base was looking a little bare, so I added some gold paint ink splats for a bit of interest and then foam mounted the Doily Tag to the front. I then die-cut the Hello sentiment several times out of white cardstock and stuck them on top of each other to create a thicker embellishment.

I adhered the sentiment on top of the Doily Tag and added some gold sequins to finish.

Thanks so very much!

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a card using a stencil, a die and a stamp set!

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled OCTOBER 2018

I began by creating a colourful background using the Cubic stencil and some ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I simple laid the stencil down onto a piece of white cardstock, coloured through the stencil and onto the card with the brush pens, and then liberally spritzed with water!

Too much water can result in a muddy mess, but not enough water means the colours don't blend - either way, add the amount of water you feel most comfortable with! I removed the stencil and the heat set the panel quickly before trimming it down to the size of my card base.

I adhered the panel straight down to my card based and moved onto the sentiment. I die-cut the diamond shape using the diamond shaped die from Gift Card Box Die Additions and then stamped a sentiment from the Thanks So Much set. I brushed some gold ink all the way around the edges of the die-cut piece before foam mounting to the card front.

To finish, I embellished with a mixture of sequins.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a card using the Birch Leaf stamp set and co-ordinating dies!

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled SEPTEMBER 2018

I began by creating a loose watercolour background - I took an acrylic block, dropped some Dylusions Ink blots onto it and used it to stamp an image onto a panel of white cardstock. I kept the block in place to allow the colours to blend and then removed it so I could heat set the panel.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled SEPTEMBER 2018

I sprayed a solution of water and Perfect Pearls onto my panel for a bit of sparkle and heat set once more. I then trimmed the panel down to slightly smaller than my card base and foam mounted it to the card front.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled SEPTEMBER 2018

I die-cut the birch leaf four times out of white cardstock and adhered all the die-cut pieces together to create one thicker embellishment. I then adhered it to the card front and moved onto the sentiment.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled SEPTEMBER 2018

The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of black cardstock with Versafine ink and heat set in white. I foam mounted that under the leaf embellishment and finished with a few sequins.

Hello!

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a card using the Thanks So Much and Floral Frame stamp sets!

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled AUGUST 2018

This card was so simple to create, and used one stamp from each set. I took the outline diamond shape from Thanks So Much and stamped it repeatedly with Versamark ink onto a panel of white cardstock. I sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled AUGUST 2018

I then took one of the smaller images from the set and stamped in the corners of the diamond shapes, again with Versamark ink and heat set in white.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled AUGUST 2018

I grabbed my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and scribbled roughly with rainbow colours inside each of the embossed areas. I then spritzed the panel with water and watched the colours beautifully bleed into one another, and again heat set.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled AUGUST 2018

I trimmed the panel down to slightly smaller than my card base and foam mounted to the card front. I stamped a sentiment from the Floral Frame set onto a strip of black card stock, heat embossed in white, trimmed down and foam mounted to the card front.

To finish, I adhered some gold sequins.

Life!

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a card using the Life's a Game stamp set and co-ordinating dies!

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled JULY 2018

There's so many ways you could go with this set, but I wanted to go clean and simple! So I die-cut the main sentiment 'LIFE' out of some white cardstock and set all the pieces aside. I took the die-cut panel and stamped the supporting sentiment and tiny gaming images with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled JULY 2018

I then took another panel of white cardstock and swiped some colour using the ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens, starting with a pink and finishing with a blue. I used a bit of water to blend the colours together and then adhered the panel to my cardbase.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled JULY 2018

I then simply foam mounted the die-cut piece onto the card base, allowing the colour gradient to peek through the aperture.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled JULY 2018

I also foam mounted the letters back into place onto the card base, and finished by adding various sequins.

Stencilling on YUPO

Hello there!

Mayuri here to sharing another card using the Geometric Circles stencil and the So Many Sentiments stamp set ;-)

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled JUNE 2018

I began by creating a background panel using YUPO paper and the Geometric Circles stencil. I dropped different colours inks and paints onto the paper before laying down the stencil and adding further colour.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled JUNE 2018

I chose to leave the stencil there instead of heat setting the YUPO paper as I didn't want it to curl up. I left it overnight to dry and then removed the stencil to reveal the gorgeous pattern on the paper. I trimmed the stencilled background panel down to slightly smaller than my card base and adhered it straight down to a white card base.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled JUNE 2018

I then stamped a bunch of sentiments from the So Many Sentiments set onto strips of black cardstock, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set. I then foam mounted them to the card front.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled JUNE 2018

To finish off, I adhered a some sequins and wood veneer embellishments.

Solar prints turned into cards

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a set of cards that I've made using some solar prints I created a few weeks ago, when we had some amazing weather and lots of sunshine!

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled May 2018

Solar prints are created using special paper which reacts to the sun. You carefully place objects onto the paper, and expose it in the sun for about 5-10 minutes, depending on how sunny it is. When the exposed areas turn white, you remove the objects and immerse the paper in a water bath to allow the print to 'set'. Where the objects were laid is where you get the almost ethereal, ghostly images. I decided to experiment with Neat & Tangled stencils, die-cut pieces as well as leaves and flowers.

After I'd exposed several sheets of solar paper in the sun, I'd hung them up to dry for around 15 minutes. I then die-cut several rectangle panels out of them, slightly smaller than an A2 card base to use for my cards.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled May 2018

For this first card, I began by stamping a sentiment from No Words in the centre of one of the panels with Versamark Ink. I then stamped supporting images from Friendly Florals in the form of a wreath, again with Versamark Ink. I sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set. I added a bit of sparkle by colouring some of the open areas in with gold paint.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled May 2018

For my second card, I took huge inspiration from a set of cards that Ruby from A Rare Ruby had created - she mentioned in her post that there was lots of doodling ideas on Pinterest and so I literally doodled onto one of the panels with a white gel pen. I added a sentiment from So Many Sentiments to finish off.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled May 2018 ©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled May 2018

For my third and fourth cards, I adhered a panel of the exposed solar paper to a piece of cardstock to make it more sturdy and then run it through my die-cutting machine with the Warm Winter Scene Cover Plate. I was able to use both the positive and negative pieces to create two cards!

I like you ever so much

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a card using the Geometric Circles stencil, the Get Yeti stamp set and the So Many Sentiments stamp set ;-)

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled April 2018

I began by stamping the yeti image from the Get Yeti set with Versafine Onyx Black ink on to a piece of white cardstock, and then coloured him in using some ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled April 2018

I then fussy-cut him out and set him aside to work on my card base. I laid down the Geometric Circles stencil onto a white card base and roughly passed some embossing paste through it onto the surface. I lifted the stencil away to reveal the lovely pattern and before the embossing paste dried, I quickly flicked some gold paint onto the card base for some added interest.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled April 2018

I stamped a sentiment from So Many Sentiments onto a strip of black cardstock, and foam mounted it and the yeti to the card front.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled April 2018

To finish off, I adhered a mixture of sequins from the Like Magic Sequin Mix and the Mermaid Tail Sequin Mix.

I Miss You Every Day

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a card using the Friendly Florals and So Many Sentiments stamp sets ;-)

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled March 2018

I began by taking the largest floral cluster from the Friendly Florals set, flipping it over and stamping with the back of the stamp onto a piece of white cardstock with some yellow dye inks.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled March 2018

I cleaned up the stamp, flipped it back the right way round and stamped the outline image straight on top of the coloured areas. I then filled in some areas of the pattern that I'd made with gold paints and a black marker.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled March 2018

I added detail to some of the larger florals with small dots of paint and flicked some gold and black ink splats onto the cardstock panel. I heat set the panel and trimmed it down to slightly smaller than my white card base.

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled March 2018

I foam mounted the panel to the card base and moved onto the sentiment, which comes from the So Many Sentiments set. I white heat embossed this onto a strip of black cardstock and foam mounted to the card front.

To finish, I added some gold sequins ;-)
