Celebrate Birthday Balloons

Good morning! Heather here to share a fun birthday card using the newly released Just for You stamp set:

LOVE the look of these darling balloons layered together! I used 3 different colors of shadow ink - they blend and overlap so fun!

Layered with some American Crafts pattern paper, and a bit of washi tape to hold it down. Super simple and fun!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a super day!

ABNH Collaboration Cards

Hi Jean here to share two cards for this week's collaboration between A Blog Named Hero and Neat + Tangled.

There were absolutely dozens of card ideas floating around in my head, as the stamps from these two companies work so well together.

For my first card, I stamped and heat embossed the birds from My Heart Sings and colored them with distress inks - Salty Ocean and Squeezed Lemonade. I stamped the sentiment from Fancy Basics and added a few gemstones.

I took a decidedly more casual approach for my second card. That's the great thing about these companies - they're stylistically versatile!

I repeatedly stamped one of the On the Border stamps with Archival Ink in Aquamarine. I created a panel onto which I stamped the stars from Sparkle and Shine along with a sentiment from Year Round Sentiments.

A Blog Named Hero + Neat and Tangled!

Hello friends!

I am so excited to announce that Neat and Tangled will be doing a week long collaboration with our friends over at  A Blog Named Hero starting TODAY! Yay!  Now be sure to head over to ABNH each day this week to see all of the amazing projects they have for you!

So, warning, I made a card for today and it's Christmas. You probably want to punch me, but I'm sort of in Christmas mode here at Neat and Tangled getting ready for future releases so that's where I went with this card :)

I paired up the dotted strip from Neat and Tangled's On the Strip 2 with Hero Arts' Miracle of the Holidays, to finish it off I added a nice old chunky button and some sparkly twine! This was pretty simple and could be easily mass produced for the holidays!
ABNH + Neat and Tangled!

There will be projects here and at ABNH each day this week showcasing Neat and Tangled and Hero Arts -  they just pair up so nicely! There is a giveaway over on the ABNH blog so be sure to head over!

See you tomorrow!

ABNH Challenge 16: Second Chances

Hello again :)

Here to share a sneak peak of my project for the next A Blog Named Hero Challenge.

This time the challenge is to re-do an old card.  Have you ever looked back at your old cards? It was a scary experience for me! For some I couldn't help but wonder what I was thinking! LOL  It was a lot of fun though to see how my style has developed and evolved.  I can definitely see where I started to really find "my style". It was pretty neat :)

Here is a sneak of my card today, you can see it in full (along with my original card) over at A Blog Named Hero. I had some fun watercoloring with my Distress Markers and using my favorite Picket Fence Stickles :)

Hero Arts + Lawn Fawn Week!

Hi friends! Danielle here! This week over at A Blog Named Hero we are having big fun pairing Hero Arts and Lawn Fawn! They play so well together :)))  There is lots of inspiration every day, and prizes to be won! So get your patooties over there and check it out! Be sure to comment to win!

Oh, and here's my card :) I used the trees from Lawn Fawn's Let it Snow and made them into the rays of the sun! Worked perfect with the Hero Arts sentiment!

My Sunshine
PS- This card took me a crazy amount of tries. I experimented with different colors, different trees from the set, different arrangement and number of 'rays'...sometimes clean and simple is anything but! Each time I changed an element I thought 'OKAY THIS IS IT!' and so I did it on good cardstock like a fool! Geez. Lesson learned, use scrap paper first , ALWAYS!

I'm also entering this into the Moxie Fab World Stitching and Sewing Challenge!

Happy Halloween!

Hello friends, Danielle here! I can't believe it is Wednesday already, my week is all thrown off because of hurricane Sandy. We were very blessed and sustained no damage or loss of power. I know so many others were not as fortunate and I am keeping you all in my thoughts.

You MUST stop by here tomorrow because there will be a BIG announcement!! I am so excited, and I know you will be too! There might just be some giveaways and a freebie  ;)

I also wanted to share a fun Halloween card I made using Graveyard Shift, and some Hero Arts!
Look at this skeleton
I just love embossing this skeleton in white on black cardstock! I also have made a few cards recently with this little panel that can open up. I think it adds a fun element to a card, something unexpected and a great way to tuck away a little surprise ;)

I think this is pretty self-explanitory, but if should have any questions just ask! I hope you have a very safe and Happy Halloween!

A Blog Named Hero: Clean Up Your Act!

Hi friends! Danielle here with a card for the next A Blog Named Hero challenge. This might be my favorite so far :) Clean and simple!

I know, I know, it's early for holiday cards but I have been trying to brainstorm ideas for some Christmas cards now, so I'm not flailing at the last minute. This challenge was perfect excuse to test some of my ideas, because clean and simple is a must when mass producing (at least for me!). Here is one of the options I came up with...

I love this little Hero Arts reindeer!  I paper pieced his sweater, and then paired him up with the "reindeer approved" sentiment from Neat and Tangled's Santa's Notes set. Lately I haven't been able to resist my flair buttons, so I threw one of those on their too for something fun!  Here is a little close up

While I do love this card, and it is CAS, there is a little too much work involved (twine, paper piecing, button, etc) to mass produce. Although I might make a set with different sweaters and buttons to give as a gift :)

Be sure to play along! You have a chance to win $25 to Simon Says Stamp!

Tag! You're It! with ABNH

Hello hello! Here today with a project I made for A Blog Named Hero. This challenge is all about tags!

Sooo, this project is a bit different for me.  In my private life I like to experiment with mixed media. I've made a few little canvases for the kids and around the house, nothing worth sharing LOL.  But lately I've been all sentimental with my oldest starting school, and I'm really grasping to capture as many of these little moments as possible.  I thought it would be fun to make a little book to document things from the upcoming year that are all about him (I do Project Life for the family as a whole). You know, funny things he says, milestones, Instagram pictures, etc.  I first made the white tag, but realized it wasn't big enough, so I used some Multi Matte Medium to adhere it to the large tag, and then used a ring to put a bunch together. Nice thing is I can always add more if I need more. This a little more 'artsy' than my usual CAS cards. I'm going to TRY to do this every year.
