Weekend of aesthetic warmth.

Good morning everyone. 

Hope you all had a nice weekend. I staied at home and actually worked on sewing! I got the second pack of royal chrome furniture and stowed those in my storage locker, and I got the cool boxes I ordered from House designs earlier in the week.

Oh yeah, there was that, but I meant my fabric for my quilt arrived! Wine celebration indeed!

Happy Tuesday one and all. 

I feel I have neglected you all these last few weeks. It's been stressful at work, and its strange, the more you try to maximize your time, the less you appear to have.

I've also been doing some walks/hikes after work. Generally 2 1/2 miles a day. Those have been fun and take about an hour after work, so that cuts into my sewing time, but thats time for me. I day dream a lot during my walks. I sort out projects in my head, think through characters and stories. You know, me time :)

I have also gotten quite a few sewing projects. I'm starting on a dress tonight, and I'll be doing a dress commission, and a pair of pants on commission. Not to worry, those will be blog posts, too!

But I have had some time to work on some MnM projects. 

One being the final cushion cover for my royalchrome set. Look, I know you all are more than likely tired of hearing about my obsessive royalchrome...obsession, but hey, I can't stop yammering about these things. I love them so.

It's been a nice week. The first rain storm of the fall happened today making everything smell clean and fresh. My new cushions for the royalchrome chair came and all I have to do is finish the covers for them.

Good Tuesday one and all.

It's October and fall us among us. Though the weather is getting cooler, even for California, all I have been thinking of lately is Las Vegas. What? Yeah, Las Vegas. I've had my room booked for months now, and it will be my first time at Viva Las Vegas next year.

I've got a lot of outfits planned, but I decided to get started on some of the smaller things and one of them thus far fits into my MnM schedule.

I hope your week ending festivities are going well. I'm at home sewing all day and I have to say I love it. Granted, they are not projects I would WANT to do, but need to be done.

But before I hit the trails with some other non me projects, I wanted to get this one out of the way first.

Gearing up for weekend sewing.

As the work week winds up, I will be gearing up for two days of side work sewing for other people. 

I have a new dress commission that I'm excited about. I also will be making a pattern from a pair of men's pants. THAT is going to be a treat. Plus I have tons of tailoring for other people. Whew!

Granted, not all of this will be done this weekend. 

Though, there is a personal project I do hope to squeeze in here and there. Some MnM items being one.I also finished all the piping for the two cushion that I'm having delivered next week. Man, that's a lot of piping.

Time for a recap of last month's goodies.

I got the chair together and put that in the living room. I ordered two cushions for it that I hope will be here by the end of the week, and I got out the rest of the fabric I had and got to piping.

It's over! The couch/settee is here and I feel a void in my soul is now filled. Yeah an exaggeration, but this royalchrome soap opera is now at it's end and I quite frankly am happy about it.

Don't they look great?! Well, hold on. I'm sure most of you by now are noticing my 30 second photoshop job, and realizing that this is just the first finished couch turned sideways.

But THIS is the arrangement I want...I'm hoping for. Because, you see, MY OTHER COUCH FRAME IS MIA!!!

FYI: I won't be posting anymore to SewRetro. I'm sure it's run by swell people, but since the switch to wordpress, it's become more 'vintagey' than actual vintage, and that's just not my deal. My last post of vintage furniture was not in their 'guidelines' so they took it down even though I've been doing Catalog Sunday for years on the site (with other furniture posts I might add). I wish them luck, and it's not like I did much contributing in recent months anyway :) So be sure to mark your own calendars for my Catalog Sunday posts which will be about whatever the fuck I want them to be about! :D

Okay! Onto the couch. It's finished! And I love it.

Ten yards of fabric, FORTY yards of piping, eight 30" zippers, 

and four broken needles later, I have a finished sofa.

I blew off a night out to work on these! I couldn't stop thinking about them! Then I completed my first one, and I saw this project was indeed possible!

Royalchrome restoration pt3

Good morning everyone. I hope your weekend was nice. Mine was. I finally had my housewarming and I considered it a big success! It was my first party ever and I had a big turnout. More on that tomorrow.

That's why I was MIA last week. I was preparing for the party, that, and I went out dancing 4 nights in a row. Um, yeah....that does not leave much time for blogging.

But now that my party is over, and I'm settled, as in I've put everything away, I'm ready to tell you all about my Royarlchrome progress.

Okay, last Thursday I left work an hour early and traveled to downtown LA (in rush hour) to get the eight cushions I ordered for my two Royalchrome couches.

Hello lovely people. I hope your weekend was a good one. Even though it rained all day yesterday, it was a great weekend for me. I went on a walking tour with some lovely friends and had good conversation and good food. I even made some pants, two pairs to be exact, but more on all of that later this week.
