This picture is over....13years old, I'd guess. That's me and all my round face adorableness, and that gal with the blue arrow is Kristen. We started out as sales associates in the Apple store so many, many years ago, and like so much of my Apple family, we've kept in touch.

She even came to visit with her two sons one day as the fam was making a cross California vacation. Ah, good times.

The pattern is a very simple economical early-mid 40s style with scalloped sleeve options and a hart-shaped neckline. It's ideal for a beginner sewer.

Sewing a bit and getting it done.

Happy February lovely people!

The weather in Los Angeles is so nice and it's set to hit over 80 degrees today. I'm taking Mr. Handsome man to the vet for a bacterial infection, drawing, and then washing my hair, a lot to do for my Monday off.

This weekend I actually decided to get some of the sewing things out of my head. I organized some of my patterns, I organized the printed NewVintageLady repros I have in stock, I worked on another Frankenstein suit for Workshop 77, and I finally, finally started on the draping of a dress I've had in my head for weeks!

I'm going to back track a bit, and talk about what I did near the start of the previous post. I commented that I consider all things that go beneath the fashion layer to be foundation garments, and I do. Whether you are going for a 20s look, or a 40's statement, having all the right pieces that help the outer layer drape the way you want are crucial to the look.

Gave Brian a bath outside last weekend. It worked out great, used less water and I didn't have to clean the bathroom. I think we have a new normal.

I'd been thinking about what I'm going to sew next for me because I have been going through so many projects for others. Now that it's winter, I was thinking it would be a good time to sew some knits. I envision myself in my own custom t-shirts with cool necklines and perhaps a 3/4 length sleeve but cut to a vintage standard. Oh yes, I can see that.
